The first time we saw Sony's PlayStation Move, it didn't even have a name: we only knew it as the PS3 motion controller. The newfangled prototype was Sony's response to the success Nintendo found in the Wii, a motion-sensitive "me-too" that hoped to one up the competition with better tracking, more "core" games and a curious glowing ball perched on its top. Its first outing showed a handful of tech demos, flaunting gameplay concepts that we'd eventually see in Sports Champions and Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest. Since then, the Move has seen its fair share of exclusive and compatible titles, but none quite engaging enough to make the peripheral a must-have accessory. With the next generation just around the corner and Sony's portable cards already on the table, E3 2012 is looking a little light on the hardware front. If Sony's going to give the Move one final push, now is the time.

SCEE to get its own PlayStation certified gaming zone at the venue
The O2 will become home to a PlayStation certified gaming zone thanks to a new partnership between the London venue and Sony.
As Sony's official Screen Partner Sony will supply 280 Bravia televisions to the venue, as well as PlayStations and Vitas so visitors to the O2 can get hands on with the consoles.
"The Official Screen Partnership with The O2 represents a true Sony United showcase of our best technology, content and brand experiences, and a platform via which Sony's full entertainment proposition can be most effectively demonstrated to our customers," said Sonys GM of brand and consumer marketing Matt Coombe.
"Sony's connected devices offer a much richer experience for our customers and, combined with some of the best content available, that experience also looks and sounds better than ever before."
The O2 sees around 8 million visitors a year, and features an indoor arena, exhibition spaces, a club and a cinema. Sony Music and Sony Pictures will also contribute content.
"There are obvious synergies between a global entertainment brand like Sony and an internationally recognised music and entertainment venue like The O2, so we're delighted that we've been able to form this partnership," added SVP of Europe for AEG Global Partnerships, Paul Samuels.
"At The O2 we're always looking for ways to improve and enhance the visitors' experience and Sony's proposition will provide The O2 with state-of-the-art audio visual technology and a unique fan interaction experience."

Sony may be changing up its paid subscription service
According to a report by Eurogamer, Sony is preparing a revamp of its PlayStation Plus paid online service, with a full reveal at its E3 2012 press event. Multiple sources told Eurogamer that one of the ways Sony will improve the service is by providing top-tier titles to subscriber for free. This will be an expansion of the current PlayStation Plus program which gives users limited time access to certain PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Network titles.
The sources have also pointed to improved PlayStation Vita integration for Plus subscribers. The portable version of the service will offer exclusive titles, DLC, and cloud options, allowing subscribers to access their saves and content without connecting to a PC or PS3.
This revamp of PlayStation Plus may come with a redesigned PlayStation Store including purchases made from a user's PC.http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...nys-e3-efforts

PS3 owners are for the first time being offered full game downloads at a price that’s competitive with the High Street.
Sony America has announced its ‘PS3 Ultimate Deals’ promotion that offers full game downloads as well as all the associated DLC for a cut-down price. 30 per cent is being lopped off as standard, though if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber the discount increases to 50 per cent.
It’s the first time a platform holder has attempted to directly compete with High Street retail – a move that all have admitted they are reluctant to make for fear of alienating retail partners.
For instance, Red Dead Redemption is available with all its DLC and even the Undead Nightmare expansion for just $19.59 for subscribers. InFamous 2 has been cut to $23.79.
Just Cause Ultimate Edition can be had for just $14.69 while Black Ops and all of its DLC, meanwhile, costs $46.54.
MCV has asked Sony if the deal will be replicated in the UK.
Expect to see more activity from platform holders in the digital space as the current generation of machines approaches the final stretch and they begin preparing consumers for what will undoubtedly be a digital-focused next generation of machines.
UPDATE: SCE UK has told MCV that Complete Editions have been available for some time on the European arm of PSN.

EA will at next week’s E3 reveal the Battlefield Premium service, according to a retail listing.
Coolshop reckons that the download will go live on June 29th and it is offering a code to access the content for £34.96.
It offers the existing Back to Karkland DLC as well as three future downloads – Close Quarters (June), Armoured Kill (autumn), Aftermath (Q4) and End Game (spring 2013).
Also included are 20 maps, 20 new weapons, ten new vehicles, four new multiplayer modes, 30 assignments and 20 dog tags.
Think of it as an equivalent to Activision’s Call of Duty Elite, although of course Battlefield already offers similar stat-tracking services.

A new colour variant of the PSP will be released at UK retail in July.
The Ice White PSP-E1000 will have an RRP of just £89.99.
The PSP E-1000 was announced last August. It’s a trimmed-down version of the established hardware. As well as being heavier than other models, it also omits Wi-Fi support, though digital games can still be transferred to the device using Sony’s Media Go software.
Crucially, it is compatible with PSP’s extensive UMD software library.
Sony is also trying to associate the launch with its PSP Essential software selection, that offers loads of really great games for just £9.99 a piece.

Retail listings posted today seem to name two of Ubisoft’s secretive upcoming game line-up.
As reported by CVG, a (now removed) listing on GAME.co.uk named Ghost Recon: Final Mission as being due out on some time in ‘2012’. It said the game had an 18 BBFC certificate and could be pre-ordered for £34.99.
In addition, Zavvi has posted a listing Assassin’s Creed III as coming to the handheld. We knew that an AC game was in the works for the machine, but this is the first time that it has been named as ACIII.
Ubisoft has told MCV that it does not comment on rumour or speculation.

After almost 3 months of under cover preparation, I present you the new PCSX2 homepage! The last PCSX2.net redesign was done 7 years ago by CKemu and Falcon4ever and now it is my turn to update it
The new website is based on the latest Joomla! platform with a custom modified theme for PCSX2, and is no longer bound to our forum. It uses PHP, a new database for the compatibility list and jQuery for various new features.

via http://wololo.net/wagic/2012/05/26/f...e-debunk-game/
Update: wow, that was fast, less than one hour after my post, the video was removed from youtube, thanks a lot guys!
Many people claim to have vita hacks on youtube, and the pattern is always the same: these people steal somebody’s video (typically, a VHBL video), claim they have a working jailbreak/CFW for the Vita, and give you a mediafire link.
The archive is usually protected by a password, which you can obtain by answering a survey. Once you answer the survey, most likely you won’t get the password. If you do chances are it won’t work on the archive, and if it does, the archive contains a bunch of useless files: sometimes it’s a PSP firmware, sometimes a random dump of prx files, sometimes it’s simply VHBL files (that you can get for free here!). If you’re unlucky, the files contain a virus. Either way, you wasted time, and the scammer got paid some money from the surveys.
Usually I don’t pay attention to these scammers, even though I really don’t like how they steal my videos and pretend to be me, but today I’m feeling playful, so I want to debunk one such random video (thanks to John who sent me that link)
We have here somebody who copy/pasted Davee’s proof of concept for a HEN on the vita (see here), and pretends to have a CFW, yadda, yadda. I tried, don’t bother, it’s one of those scams I described above. So let’s play the debunk game. It’s easy at the individual scale, but it requires coordination: we will all report that dude’s video as a scam so that youtube can rightfully remove it. I would claim it’s a copyright infringement, but the only option youtube gives is “this infringes my copyright”, which isn’t true since it infringes Davee’s copyright (so, Davee, if you read this…).
Long story short, just do the following:
Please go to the youtube page of this video, and click on the small flag icon at the bottom of the video. Then report the video as: Spam -> scam/fraud, then “submit video for review”. I believe that youtube will take action if enough people report the video.
That guy has a blogger account too, but sadly google doesn’t have a clear policy on reporting scammers, unless there’s a clear breach of the law. So let’s leave his blog for now…
Thanks in advance for your help, it’s fun to debunk scammers
Also, if like me you think it’s fun, we could do this on a regular basis, as there are hundreds of such misleading “hacks” on youtube. What do you guys think? Is it childish to report scammers, or does it feel like cleaning up the world a little bit?

Generally, having a magical wizard in your pocket would either be incredibly uncomfortable for one (or both) of you, or prohibitively expensive. Wizard upkeep costs an arm and a leg as it is, and with the money you'd spend on the reagents needed to concoct a shrinking potion, you could buy an entire mage. It's a pain, and usually not worth it.
There's is, however, a more humane, cost effective solution on the horizon.WizOrb, the pixelated, chiptuned indie block-breaking/RPG hybrid from Beatshapers and Tribute Games will smash through geometrically perfect arrangements of blocks and onto your friendly neighborhood PS3, PSP and/or Vita next month, when it launches as a $3.99 PlayStation Mini.

Grand Theft Auto V will sell 14 million copies during its launch period, an extremely optimistic analyst has predicted.
That figure comes from Stern Agee's Arvind Bhatia, who expects the game to sell more at launch that GTA4 did in its first year (13 million sold, notes Gamespot).Bhatia expects these sales to rake in $700 million in revenue for the game's publisher, Take-Two, who must currently be building a huge fort in which to store its inevitable piles of coin.
Bhatia also predicts the game's release before the end of March 2013 - this fiscal year - forsimilar reasons that others have cited, namely the huge revenues predicted in Rockstar's latest full year FY13 guidance.
So, who here's got it on their purchase list? Actually, who HASN'T got it on their list? That'll be easier.
