Hello everyone! For this great annual compo, my friend frankdrey and I have come together to form team... frankdrey and 10$man! After a month (Actually, I think 3 weeks) of work, we are proud to present to you our entry, Runaway Car for the PSP!
Runaway Car!
Info
In this 3d game, you will take on the role of a car thief and race down a infinite street well evading trash cans, dumpsters and road blocks. But that's not it! It gets faster every time your score reaches the next 1000, up until 7000! How long can you survive??
Now, that's an okay concept in itself, but frankdrey and I did not stop there. We realize that this idea could get boring fast so we also present you with a car garage! When you're on the road, you can pick up some coins as you go. Then, when you have enough coins, you can go to the car garage and steal a cooler car!
I believe this project is original and this is the first contest we have entered this project in.
Features
Cool 3d Graphics!
3 Cars to unlock!
3 Objects to Avoid!
7 Different Speeds to race through! Can you make it to the 7th level??
A great song custom made by Scott Pereksta!
REAL Saving and Loading using the PSP's Save and Load feature!
This means that you can check your highscore, how many cars you've unlocked and how many points you have WITHOUT even loading the game!
Screenshots
Now, It's no lie, I sure have done alot of talking!
Don't worry though, I got some nice screenshots to back me up!
You'll have to download the game to hear the amazing music though!
The NeoFlash Loading/Splash screen
Right Before I press play to start the game
I just started. You can see me about to collect these coins along the side of the street.
I made it to the first speed up
Second Speed up!
Of course, as I said, there are 3 other cars to use, besides this one!
I'l upload some pictures of them when I unlock them (I deleted my save so that I could start the game again with all the new great updates we added)
How to play
If you're reading this, I guess that means my advertising was successful
Controls:
At the Menu:
Cross is select
Circle is back
Left and Right on the d-pad will control the selection
In game:
Press left and right to move your car!
Start will pause the game and present you with options
Things to avoid:
Any object coming down the street.
Any object, except for the golden coins!
Collect this for points!
Don't ride up onto the sidewalk too much!
This will take away a very small amount of damage. But, in a near death situation, that little bit could be the difference between life and crash!
If you hit the building (You'll hear a screech) then you will steadily have health deduced!
Download!
After reading all this, you're probably thinking, "how the deuce can I get this game??? "
Well, fear not! We have an active google code page where you can get the latest and greatest update for this game!
The google code page is here:
http://code.google.com/p/runawaycar-psp
The download page is here:
http://code.google.com/p/runawaycar-psp/downloads/list
In the event that a mixup occurs with judging, Version 1.0 was the release at the time of this competition (Not to be confused with 0.1).

In this post-Double Fine Kickstarter world, there's nothing more nostalgic than buying a game for a set price and then playing it immediately – unless that game is itself nostalgic, like, say, Psychonauts.
Next Tuesday, you'll have the opportunity to experience Raz's mental adventure in a new venue, when it is released on PS3 in North America as a PS2 Classic. This miracle of digital distribution is possible thanks to Double Fine's acquisition of the Psychonauts publishing rights last year.

Looking for some more variety in game modes? DICE has upped the number of official servers for Battlefield 3 on consoles – four-fold. Quick matches will still drop you into the first available ranked server, rented or not, but if you input "DICE" when searching, it should list all the available DICE servers.
You'll find these newly-added DICE servers available on Xbox 360 and PS3 as of right now, the Battlefield Blog says. There's no word on whether DICE will be instituting a similar measure on the PC.

Spelunker HD – the PSN game from Tozai Games about an extraordinarily fragile cave explorer, not the XBLA game Spelunky that was partially inspired by Spelunker – will get new DLC almost two years after release, along with a free update.
The update, due August 28, adjusts the camera in online multiplayer, and gives you ten new "Championship Mode" stages for free! Seven more Championship Mode packs will be out soon after, each adding ten stages. These stages all give you 50 lives to start instead of five, because they're apparently even harder than the brutal game. Two more unspecified DLC packs are also planned for September.
Each Championship Mode update costs $1.99/€1.99, unless you're a PlayStation Plus member. For two weeks after the update, both Spelunker HD and the DLC will be sold at half price ($5 for the game, $1 for each DLC pack) for Plus.

When Capcom first ripped the lid off the Devil May Cry series reboot, dubbedDmC: Devil May Cry, fans were angry with developer Ninja Theory's direction – specifically, Dante's new look and surroundings. Capcom US Producer Alex Jones understands this initial concern, but believes outrage is dissipating.
"There was always going to be people who saw new Dante and who didn't want it, and that's fine. Being angry about it – yeah I get that – but we always said, 'When you see the game and you play it, trust me, you're going to understand that we were doing the right thing.' Now that's happening," Jones tells VG24/7. "So yeah it's vindication, but it's not like smugly sitting back and going 'ha ha.' It's more like, 'We understand why you guys had doubts, and we knew that we had to prove this to you, and we were happy to do it.' That was our responsibility."
Despite Dante's new look, Jones says there's a lot to the character that will be familiar to fans of the series – and not just his twin pistols and sword. "He's still irreverent, he's still – at the end of the day – the guy who will kick your ass and drop a cool one liner afterwards."
The interview delves into story and other philosophies behind Ninja Theory's reboot, so hit up the source link below to read the full interview.

The days of closed platforms like PS1, PS2 and PS3 are coming to an end, admits Sony.
PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan told MCV the firm is entering a ‘big bad world where there are no rules’ and that it is re-thinking what it means to be a platform holder.
The company is already opening up its system so users can download one game on PS3 and also own it on Vita. But this is just the beginning, as the firm looks to offer a PlayStation experience across mobile, tablet and even televisions.
“It’s definitely the case that the old model of these very siloed platforms is breaking down a bit,” said Ryan.
“And it is function of now having proper connected devices. PS2 was not a connected device. PSP was not really a proper connected device. PS3 is and PS Vita most definitely is. So we have the ability now to have devices talk to each other.”
In regard to mobile, he added: “There are obviously lots of people, whether it is on a tablet or a smartphone, playing games. Sorts of people who a number of years ago were simply not doing that. We see it a real opportunity to take that constituency and offer them a PlayStation experience, whether that is with an emulated virtual dual shock, or whether it is the use of PSN functionality, which will come in the future.
“We think there is a great opportunity to offer consumers a place where they will be assured of a certain level of quality of android game, presented with a gaming format that is similar to what they’ve experienced in the past.
“This is new ground for us. It didn’t seem it at the time but these walled gardens are actually nice, cosy places, and we are now going out into the big bad world where there are no rules. We are trying to set those rules.
“We are having to reset a lot of our thinking. And I am enjoying that. But it is a challenge, because we’ve been pushing PS1, PS2 and PS3, basically the same way, and then all of a sudden we are like ‘You have to forget that and think differently’.”
Sony’s bold vision for its platforms shows the company has been giving serious thought to the direction of the industry. It follows the acquisition of cloud gaming specialist Gaikai, plus the firm’s decision to launch a free-to-play console title Dust 514.
“It is great that the industry evolves and goes in different directions,” added Ryan. “No entertainment industry can just carry on the way it was. For our industry to thrive and prosper it has to evolve and it has to innovate.”

We’ve been honest about this from the off – we’re doing this only for the clicks.
We started with the headline “MCV posts Grand Theft Auto V screens to try and generate clicks”. Then we went with “More GTA V screens for you… but still no release date”.
But now we’re really going for it.
We’ve been blatantly honest about posting these screens for the simple reason that we thought they’d bring us lots of traffic. What was less clear was whether or not our honesty about our motivation would affect that.
It hasn’t. The two stories we posted earlier in the week are the first and third most read stories on the site all week.
So let’s see how this one goes. That headline? Pure click farming. Brazen, unabashed click bait. We’re playing SEO like a bitch. Does this make us bad people? Arguably, yes. But we’re trying to be clever by doing this in a way that will still generate traffic whilst allowing us to insist that we’re honest and in some way better than all of those other sites.
Has the experiment succeeded? Our analytics says yes. Our souls say no.
And our secret hope that the last screen would reveal a release date has come to nowt, either. Bah.

August 25th, 2012, 23:49 Posted By: wraggster
The Transformers IP may have enjoyed a newfound popularity in recent years thanks to Michael Bay’s cinematic adaptations, but Fall of Cybertron is pure 1980s.
From the outset, this game is squarely aimed at fans of the G1 animated series and the movie that it spawned – which, imaginatively, was called Transformers: The Movie.
Peter Cullen, the famous voice of Optimus Prime, is present and correct along with a host of the original G1 voice cast (including Grimlock’s Gregg Berger). Oh, and Nolan North, who plays plucky Autobot Cliffjumper.
Where High Moon Studios’ latest outing differs, however, is in the character designs, which carry on the sterling work of 2010’s War for Cybertron in establishing a brand new, Cybertronian pre-Earth aesthetic.
The models have all been altered from the last game, though – presumably to allow Hasbro to market its soon to arrive Fall of Cybertron toy line. The first examples of these (Optimus Prime, Jazz and Shockwave) are due at UK retail any day now. The second wave constitutes five Decepticons that merge to form the infamous combiner Bruticus.
The list of characters in Fall of Cybertron is superb fan service – alongside your Optimus Primes and Megatrons we also have towering Autobot goliath Metroplex, the rebellious Insecticons and even, for the first time in a 3D Transformers game, the Dinobots.
As well as a rich single player mode plenty of effort has been put into the multiplayer, which offers a vast arrange of customisation options far beyond what was seen last time out.
As one of the first games to herald the end of the summer break, Fall of Cybertron has a great shot at reaching an audience that’s far wider than simply Transformers enthusiasts alone. It will be interesting to see whether it can beat THQ’s Darksiders II to next week’s UK No.1.

Mugen Souls, NIS America's latest turn-based RPG, will arrive in North America slightly later than planned. Originally set for September 18, the Compile Heart-developed game is now due on October 16. The European version will be released on September 28.
The latest trailer highlights Mugen Souls' battle system, which combines turn-based combat with free movement. It looks complicated and, as the trailer itself admits, overwhelming. You need that kind of power if you intend to conquer seven universes.

Sony has filed a patent for "methods, systems, and computer programs for converting television commercials into interactive network video games".
The patent filing, which was unearthed byGameNMotion, details a scenario in which broadcasted or streamed adverts include an interactive mini-game that can be played simultaneously with other viewers."A media player coupled to the broadcast or streaming media source identifies the existence of the interactive segment and presents the user with an enhanced and interactive mini-game commercial that can be played with other "viewers" in a common or disperse demographic," reads the document.
"Multiple methods for content delivery are provided, including a model where television commercial is inserted within consecutive frames of the television program, and a model where the commercial is overlaid on frames of the television program allowing the user to play the game while the television program is displayed. In a preferred embodiment, the termination of the interactive mini-game commercial is set within a fixed time period commensurate with traditional spot television advertising."
Images accompanying the patent show the Dual Shock 3, PlayStation Move and PlayStation Eye interfacing with video content delivery services such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, ESPN and Facebook through consoles and TV. Users are invited to throw pickles at a burger to speed up a commercial, control race cars and interact using voice commands.
Although the pictures show a PlayStation 3 it's likely the technology will be included in Sony's next-generation hardware. PlayStation Group CEO Andrew House recently said it won't show the PS4until it can demonstrate 'a significant leap'.
During Gamescom EA Labels president Frank Gibeau claimed to have seen Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 first hand, but didn't provide any details on either.
In March, sources claimed PS4 is codenamed Orbis and will be released during the holiday 2013 season.
