The same coder Xtrusion who brought you the 2.5/2.6 easy downgrader has used Dark_Alex's 2.71 downdater to create an easy version. This program installs just like a regular windows executable. It guides you through all of the steps to get your psp to from 2.71 to blessed 1.5.
Thank you Xtrusion, Dark_Alex, Fanjita, Skylark, Mathieulh, and all the other coders who made this possible

Remember there is always a risk of bricking your psp when using a program that writes to flash. Be careful and follow all the instructions.

I'm sure many thousands of you have just downgraded to Firmware 1.50 and are wondering "Whats all the fuss about?". Well, I have written this guide to explain everything you'll need to know to enjoy your 1.50 PSP! This guide is really aimed at new users who are not familiar with firmware 1.50 and its abilities.
Intro
Firmware 1.50 allows you to run "homebrew" on your PSP, higher firmwares do not directly have this ability. Firmware 1.50 allows you to do much more with your PSP than the higher firmwares, due to the large amount of homebrew developers who sacrifice their free time to provide you with free games, apps and more!
So what is homebrew then?
Simply put, homebrew is "homemade" games and applications etc. for use with your PSP. PSP homebrew developers do not work for official gaming companies like Ubisoft and EA, nor do they get paid. Therefore, homebrew is 100% free!
What you need to know
Firmware 1.50 allows you to almost anything to your PSP! This section of the guide will explain everything about the PSP Firmware and will not affect most of you.
-Flash
The PSP stores 2 directories where the PSP firmware is stored and read. These are named "flash0" and "flash1". The critical system files are stored in flash0, corrupt files in flash1 can normally be repaired and will not brick (break) your PSP.
You cannot directly access the flash without special tools such as ThemePSP or X-Flash. It is not recommended that you attempt to modify your PSPs flash as it could result in a brick (unless of course you carefully use any of the 2 apps mentioned above).
Applications like ThemePSP will allow you to do all sorts of things with your 1.50, including changing the background, font, bootsound and gameboot screen. Other applications will also allow you to speed up your PSP, including over-riding the chip to 333mhz instead of the standard 222mhz.
-XMB
The XMB is what you see when you turn your PSP on (in other words, the main menu )
-Emulation
An emulator is an application for the PSP which allows you to run games or other apps which have not been designed for the PSP. For example, DGEN allows you to play Sega Genisis games on your PSP.
Recommended Homebrew
X-Flash - Flash modication tool (make sure you know what you're doing )
Theme PSP - Another flash modification tool designed for changing backgrounds and fonts etc.
IRShell - Shell replacement for the PSP
ThrottleX - Fun, puzzle style driving game
PSPMillionaire - PSP version of the popular TV show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"
PSPMonopoly - PSP version of the board game "Monopoly"
PSPRadio - The name says it all
DevHook - Allows you to emulate firmware 2.71 on your PSP
DGEN - Sega Genisis Emulator for the PSP
PiMPStreamer - Allows you to stream PMP movies
PMP VLC Player - Another PMP media player
Harleyg's Custom Firmware .2 - Custom PSP Firmware
Dark_AleX POC Custom Firmware - Proof of concept custom PSP Firmware
gpSP - GameBoy Advance Emulator
LUAPlayer + Interface Lua - Modified version of LUAPlayer
Daedalus - Nintendo64 Emulator
NesterJ - NES Emulator
There are many more great apps available which haven't sprung to mind, if anyone else has any recommended apps, please simply reply to this thread.
I hope you've found this short guide useful.

Firstly sorry for the pun Bruce Lua. Ok then this is my first LUA game its taken me about a week and a half to get it where it is now and I hope to make it mutch better because at the moment only the training works, but soon I would like to develope it more into like a side scrolling beat-em up or something along those lines.
In the training you are Bruce Lee located at the shaolin temple and you have to smash the boards one by one, using differant moves, with a couple of words of wisdom from Bruce Lee as you go.
Well thats about it, one thing thoe make sure that his fist or foot (depending on if your kicking or punching) is actualy touching the board or nothing will happen. I hope you all like it and if possiable please give some feed back.
Note: Its in EBOOT form so no need to put it on the LUA player just put it straight in the GAME folder.
Here are some screens:

Translated news from PSPGen
Yesterday evening, Yoshihiro came with our last LAN Party from the summer with in the pocket, a new grinding of its version of emulator PSX-P. Let us be clear, it does not have, for various personal reasons, had all the time initially planned to work above. Its association with a programmer external with world PSP to program the dynarec did not succeed yet.
Note that at the beginning, Dark_Alex was to take care of Dynarec but that the downgrade, and especially the fact that it did not have a PSP any more during the last month did not arrange the things.
Blow, the project does not have much advanced since the relelase a video first, it is true. But, however yesterday evening, I saw Ridge Racer launching out on PSX-P and of the blow the glimmer of hope reappears. No the miracles, however, because without a correct dynarec this play even launches out but turns ata rate of FPS not nommable. But, it launches out…
As you see it on the photographs, posting is not done any more, for the tests, in full screen.
The tests with Ridge Racer 1 started…
Then, as opposed to what I had promised to you, I indeed did not put on line the very first version of this emulator at the request of Yoshihiro because it wishes releaser beta more succeeded a little. The negotiation continues…: -)…
And at the same time, the exit of the downgrader 2.71 seems to have made its office with more than 3000 connected people, at the strongest moment of the evening, on PSPGEN including 784 on the forum. It should be noted that our very new waiter of yesterday after midday, did not support the shock.
Once again, I point out that this adventure is in hand and that the project advances as quickly as possible. The objectives are a challenge and PSP-GENERATION supports the project and our team hopes, like you, that that will succeed.
OK so no release but plenty of screens Via Comments

News from IGN
Today Take-Two announced it had received additional grand jury subpoenas seeking information on its financial practices. As a result, the publisher is delaying its full third-quarter fiscal earnings report.
In June, the New York District Attorney's office subpoenaed Take-Two for financial records dating back to fall 2001, and for information relating to the dead horse named Hot Coffee. The most recent subpoenas request documents regarding stock options and other equity based compensation from November 2001 to the present.
Take-Two said it would not report its full earnings statement until the investigation is concluded. It did release some preliminary results, though; particularly that analysts' prediction for net revenue in Q3 (ended July 31, 2006) revenue was accurate, around $240 million, up from $169.9 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2005. However, it said estimates for profit were "too high." Take-Two continues to cite the industry transition as a primary reason for underperformance.
As if this all weren't enough, Take-Two said a "Rockstar PSP title based on a premier brand" would be pushed back from its planned fourth quarter release date. Rockstar has not announced the title yet, and Vice City Stories is still scheduled to ship this October. (Pure speculation: Red Dead Revolver?)

EEuG has released a new version of his Media Player for the PS2, heres whats new:
- DTV 480p video mode support added. Note: not tested here;
- added menu option to configure controller port 2. There're 3 options:
- gamepad: remote control is disabled and controller port 2 is configured
for gamepad;
- remote control: controller port 2 is configured for the official remote control
with external IR sensor plugged into controller slot 2;
- none: controller port 2 is disabled and support for the official remote control
with built-in IR sensor is enabled;
Notes: second option will appear only if there's no rom1:RMMAN2 module;
- added brightness control to the player. Use 'L2' gamepad button to decrease
brightness and 'R2' to increase it;
- added high precision mode to the MP3 decoder. Sound appears better in this mode but
it's more demanding in computational sense. This mode is always on for audio files
and it's selectable for video files via SMS menu;
- fixed cdvd driver (ISO9660:1999 mode). Thanks to 'Voldemar_U2' for the research and
implementation;
- added support for arabic subtitles. Activated by
"SMS menu->Player Settings->Subtitle Alignment->right" option. I'm not sure if I did
it correctly (original strings are reversed and displayed right aligned), so any
comments are welcome. Thanks to 'ALI' for explanations;
- updated USB drivers;
- network drivers are slightly optimized resulting a bit faster network transactions
(I've got ~690KB/s while transferring a video file to the hard disk);

News via Gamesindustry
The videogames industry is no longer focused on improving graphics, according to Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Ray Maguire, with attention now turning to artificial intelligence to make games more compelling.
Speaking at the BAFTA headquarters in London, at an event designed to underline the British Academy's new commitment to the videogame medium, Maguire said that the power of the central processors in the next-generation consoles meant that graphics were no longer top priority for developers.
"We are no longer interested in graphics per se, because graphics chips can do that for us," he commented, "but the central processors of all the new games machines are about making games more compelling by adding in artificial intelligence."
"The Cell chip is so powerful it can do 256 million calculations per second... That means one thing for us in the videogames industry: artificial intelligence."
Maguire told the audience that since he started working in the videogames industry in 1991, the focus had been strongly on improving graphics - but that graphics have now reached a point where they are so good that developers must look elsewhere for the next big step forward.
As an example, he asked the audience at BAFTA to consider the game character of Lara Croft and her movie counterpart, played by Angelina Jolie - arguing that the most important difference between the two is not visual, but lies instead in the fact that Jolie has a brain and human emotions.
He showed off a proof of concept video showing a rendered female character auditioning for a movie role, and talking through her relationship with her husband from meeting him, through to her decision to murder him after discovering that he was having an affair. Maguire highlighted the gamut of emotions which went through the character, claiming that this kind of emotional impact will be possible in game characters on next-gen systems.
"We're not talking about graphics any more," Maguire concluded. "We're talking about performance and we're talking about art."

New from SuccessHK, the US Version of Ghosts N' Goblin.

An exclusive PSP edition of Capcom's legendary platforming game, directed by the original's creator Tokurou Fujiwara. The game makes use of a 3D graphics engine, giving depth to the visuals, but plays in a side-scrolling perspective and similar art design to stay true to the original. Your goal is to work your way through side-scrolling stages, defeating enemies and using your best platforming skills. The game lets you build up your skills as you progress. You start off with just a basic jump, but eventually gain a double jump and even the ability to fly. You'll also earn lots of magic spells along the way. The game promises a greater number of spells and weapons than ever before. New for Goku Makaimura is non-linear gameplay. You're no longer on a fixed path from start to end. The levels include branching points and even warp points. By using a warp point, you can warp back to previous levels and collecting items that you might have missed.
