1 of our members, got talking to us last year about a Homebrew game he was making called Kosmodrones.
We were quite interested from what he told us. After seeing the first BETA, we were hooked.
The game itself is very professional looking, clean, tidy, very well polished and has awesome sound track to boot.
For more details and download, checkout their homepage
http://www.kosmodrones.com
P.S. Congrats Abhoth and team, on this fine piece of original Homebrew.

Gambiting has updated his Mandelbrot Fractal Generator fore the PSP:
This is my attempt to make a fast mandelbrot fractal rendering program with zoom feature. It's using fastest bruteforce rendering method,so unless someone use asembler programming or Xaos algorithm it's the fastest rendering possible for psp. This actual version has three fractal sizes: Fullscreen(480x272),medium(250x200),small(120x100) .Bigger fractal means longer rendering time. Also, you can set number of orbit checks per loop - more checks means more details and longer rendering time.Default is 100 and with this setting you can reach 60-70x zoom, with ~30sec rendering time. With 300 checks per loop you can reach as far as 500x zoom, but rendering of single zoom can take even up to 5 minutes. And yes,the zoom here is finite. With very good pc software you can reach even 10000x magnification, but this would require setting a 2000checks per loop, and then one frame would render ~2h,so I limited possible number of checks to 300. This application isn't really practical in any way,but it's really fun to watch zooming of the fractal, and seeing as it replicates itself. Also, you can impress your math teacher that your psp can do that
UPDATE LOG:
-Added 6 new colors
-Added Fullscreen 4:3 resolution(363x272)
-now you can go back to menu without quiting the game
-Added colored background feature(only for red, green, yellow, blue colors)
-You can take screenshots and save coordinates now.It works like that:
You press select, then screenshot is saved in /psp/photo/.Screenshot names are incrementing,so these will be screenshot0.png screenshot1.png ect.Coordinates are saved in /psp/game/mandelbrot/coordinates/ with name connected with screenshot,so if name of your screen shot was screenshot21.png,then coordinates will be saved as screenshot21_coordinates.txt.In this file there will be saved every point you clicked,so if you zoomed for example 4 times, then in this file will be:
342,98
213,231
476,123
387,250

Slasher has posted an entry into the Neoflash Coding Comp:
This is basically a generic flasher which can flash whatever files your heart desires. I've tried to make the process as simple and noob friendly as possible.
You can flash anything from individual files neatly organized as you wish, all the way up to entire themes also organized as you wish. You can also save precious flash space for themes with the click of a button - backing up your files as well.
The customizations available to your PSP are endless.
In case you're completely oblivious to what 'Flashing' even is, I've included several examples in which you can modify the appearance of your PSP. Enjoy.
The key to this program is user choice. YOU, as the user; chooses what he or she wants to do.

As a master of the occult, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has access to an astonishing amount of prescient items. He typically rotates them, most recently speaking to the mirror which he got from an estate sale from a Queen who apparently took a nasty fall. Pachter went up to the mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror, on the wall. In July, who's the console winner of them all?"
The Mirror replied, "Why the Nintendo Wii and DS, of course."
Miffed at the information given by his impulse purchase, Pachter replies, "You better tell me something I don't already know or I'm shipping you by freight to Pidgeon!"
In a moment of sheer panic the Mirror blurts out, "NPD will report the PS3 beat the Xbox 360 in sales for July."
Pachter believes that for the month of July, which will be official from NPD on Aug. 23, that the DS (450,000 units) and Wii (330,000) dominated sales in North America. Although, for the first time ever, the PS3 will show sales of 160,000 units, while the Xbox 360 will have 115,000. This would also mean that the PS3 will have doubled sales since announcing their 60GB clearance sale last month. He goes on to say that the Xbox warranty issue was a speed bump for Microsoft as "as consumers struggled with the meaning of the 'three red rings of death' issue." He believes that the price cut and apparent fix of the design flaw will rebound Xbox 360 sales.

We have released a new version of ExultPSP with improved controls, heres the release details:
You spoke, and phantomfighter listened. The few of you inspired enough to rummage through decades of belongings, hoping that cd rot had not yet claimed your beloved Ultima Collection discs, know the rare joy of Ultima VII on the Sony PSP. You also know the unjoy of trying to pick up a 3x3 pixel ring or trying to trigger a hidden lever two pixels wide.
Priorities shifted a bit, and attention was turned to ensuring everyone was able to best enjoy the experience. The most immediate impediment to that complete experience was the analog control. A great deal of effort went into revamping the controls, and testing the new scheme. I played through the entire Forge of Virtue addon under the light of stars tonight, and it's that much better when the controls aren't an obstacle.
I think you'll much appreciate this build.
My kindest thanks to the two virtuous lads thus far who have contributed donations, and an apology, for having to suffer sponsored ads on the site. We are still quite a long way from being able to get phantomfighter a dedicated psp, something much deserved, but with luck, we'll get there.
Better things to come. What's this about a DS port?
Show ya support! Let us know what ya think!
I am, and ever shall be, thy servant Arcadion.

News/release from Rej:
As the FINAL version of Suicide Barbie is roaming the world for some time already, it is a time to send HUGE thanks to the whole PSPDEV community for great SDK and toolchain which made this demo possible, Chip for the libGU and TyRaNiD for the psplink which were essential in development of this demo.
If you have not heard about Suicide Barbie - it is a PSP demo by TBL which won Breakpoint'2007 Wild Demo competition (console and handheld compo).
Some new features you might find interesting in the final version:
. much smaller downloadable archive
. packed music
. new visuals
. improved framerate
. wider PSP firmware support - tested on 1.00, 1.50 and 3.x OE
. proper readme.txt
. also photos of TBL finishing the demo in Bingen are included
For rumours and comments go to Pouet:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=30284
Final version (24Mb):
ftp://mirror.support.nl/pub/tbl/psp/...rbie-Final.zip
Some technical rumblings you might find interesting as well:
. all run-time and back-end code was written almost completely from scratch for this demo
. rendering loop of the demo had to be organized differently than in GU samples in order to achieve better parallelism between main CPU and GU
. probably the biggest challenge of the demo was memory and content streaming. Music and textures are streamed. Might have been a smarter move to write a better compression for animations, but we had no time for that
. all scenes were created and animated in Maya. Scenes were exported first as an FBX - we had an idea of 'interoperability' with Lightwave first (not a great idea after all, FBX has tons of special cases and documentation is somewhat sparse), then processed with out custom tools to extract scene information, animations, meshes etc. and convert them into PSP friendly formats
. all resources were zlib compressed to decrease loading times (if you noticed demo starts almost immediately with virtually no loading time)
. lua was used (during export step, not at run-time) to add additional attributes for objects, setup materials and filter scenes
. originally we had an idea to define timeline in lua for faster iterations, however Louie did a great job with planning and direction, so minimum changes had to be done - as a result timeline was kept in the code
. bulk of textures are 8bit palette based, while some are 4bit
. most of the scenes exhibit no texture reuse - no texture caching in the video memory was required
. we did a DirectX9 backend to help development and debugging. Single ShaderModel2 über-shader was used to simulate GU behaviour
. VFPU was used for some special effects and skinning, mostly to spread workload across CPU and GU more evenly
. although post-process blur in production is done on GU, we experimented a bit with CPU implementation which looked quite promising if well optimized, but at some expense of video memory

New from SuccessHK
Feel what it’s like to be a field general making key personnel decisions on both sides of the ball during the game’s biggest moments in Madden NFL 08. Quickly identify your strongest players on the field before every snap then move them into position to make game-changing momentum-altering plays. Play to your team’s strengths by immediately reading your opponent’s schemes and reacting to the action as soon as the ball is snapped. Create mismatches and exploit weaknesses as you read and react with Madden NFL 08.

Although the battle for next-gen supremacy is in full swing, the best-selling console in the land remains the venerable PS2, so it was only a matter of time before developers tried to cash in on the buzz surrounding Wii by cranking out some motion-sensing titles for Sony's older machine. First up to the plate is In2Games, which will add to its existing motion sensing catalog with the announcement of Realplay Golf, Tennis, Pool, Racing, Bowling, and Puzzlesphere at the Leipzig Games Convention later this month. The $60 games each come with a custom motion sensing controller, enabling players to fill their homes with as many crazy peripherals as possible. We're all for more motion controlled games -- especially if the controllers are as hackable as the SIXAXIS and Wiimote -- but if In2Games really wanted to bring the next-gen experience to the PS2, they'd take out the rumble, no?

- [Feature] A comic book can now be saved to be read later. However, the page is not saved, but may be bookmarked separately using the previously existing bookmark feature
