The girl shows no sign of waking and this overwhelms the main character with grief and remorse for not being a better friend when he had the opportunity. Suddenly, a strange voice offers him a second chance: "Beyond the door is a chance to change your destiny!"
He soon leaves the real world and journeys to the world of Vision, where, as a novice "Traveler," he will surmount myriad ordeals in hopes of ultimately meeting with the Goddess of Destiny to have a single wish granted. He makes friends both strange and fascinating as he finds himself blossoming into a successful Traveler. His courage and resolve are tested as he and his newfound companions travel the mysterious lands of Vision. The challenges he faces are daunting, but his growing sense of self and responsibility propel him ever forward. Friendships, courage and growth will all prove indispensable as he seeks out his destiny; a life-changing adventure and the discovery of a hero inside an ordinary kid.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has told GamesIndustry.biz that there are no plans to phase out the current PlayStation 3 Starter Pack bundle in the region, despite its Australian counterpart ending the offer later this month.
Sony of Australia has confirmed that the bundle – consisting of the console, two Sixaxis controllers and two first-party games – will no longer be available from August 31, only four weeks after it was first introduced in the region.
But SCEE has moved quickly to assure European consumers that the move does not affect other PAL regions, with a spokesperson confirming "there is absolutely no time limit on that offer in Europe."
Sony introduced the offer in the UK July 18 and in the rest of Europe August 1, maintaining the original GBP 425 / EUR 599 asking price but adding value with two new games and an extra Sixaxis controller.

Team Wildcard has today been forced to release the sourcecode to their work on updates to Dark Alexs OE Firmware, heres their news:
We had to release our work because of a leak done by a lame website which we wont name in order not to bring visitors there. This work was a full 3.10 and 3.40OE reverse done by us as well as new features for a future custom firmware which was meant to be closed source. this lame site hacked one of our account using a flaw in the maxconsole database which is far from beeing safe. and made it look like some of our group did the job.
Beside their leak contained copyrighted files used for reverse purposes ( which we removed in our released )
We are now considering several options such as stopping our project thanks to their lame action, or even sue them for DMCA infringement. They are a disgrace for the psp scene and if we do release anything we will make sure that they cannot host any of our future releases. I hope that other developers ( especially M33 ) will stand with us against such a threat, now and in the future.
Thanks for your support,
The Wildcard team.
Digg This News
It seems a lamer site has hacked into another sites database and forced this move, its very sad that the owners of the site in question are even in the PSP Scene at all. Sites that promote warez and hack other sites and change releases by adding their own splashscreens and also include their own urls/read me files into releases are the real disgrace to any scene. Team Wildcard and Team M333 have done some great work on reversing the work started by Dark Alex and co.
Lets hope a release does come soon and we see an end to the idiots at the site we do not want mentioned here.

News/release from DaveX:
Unofficial NesterJ NES Emulator 1.11 RM (Rewind and Mirror Mods)
Hi everyone!
This unofficial version was ready a little time ago, but I didn't want to
release it without Mr. Ruka's approval first. He kindly agreed, so all my
thanks goes to that great developer.
Like I did with RIN GB/GBC emulator, I have added two new features to NesterJ 1.11
NES emulator:
1) Rewind
2) Mirror mode
It's like probably that you know what rewind and mirror mods are, but if in case
you don't, let me quote myself from the readme of RIN release:
"...With rewind (or "sands of time", if you prefer) you can warp back in time
without worrying about saving states. If you made a mistake, you can press
"rewind" button and undo it...."
"...In mirror mode, like it's name says, all graphics are horizontally inverted.
So, if your favorite platform game is played from left to right,
this time you can have the choice of playing it from right to left,
giving it a little novelty touch..."
In this version, rewind key is mapped to "RTRIGGER" by default, but you can reasign
it in KEY CONFIG menu. Mirror mode can be selected in GRAPHICS CONFIG->SCREEN SIZE
item menu.
I also added a minor feature. This one is a new color palette, a "sepia" palette,
for even a more vintage look to all your favorite games. This palette can be selected
in GRAPHICS CONFIG->DEFAULT PALETTE TYPE item menu.
Greetings to all of you.

Sanik posted some news on a WIP project for the Neoflash Coding Comp, heres the details:
Purpose:
Allows a PC to go online using the PSP's wifi, through USB
Description:
1) User sets their Browser's proxy to 127.0.0.1 and the port 10101
2) A LocalHost Server is started which redirects signals from the local port to the USB
3) The PSP APP picks up on the signals from USB and then tells the wifi to do as such
4) For Windows only
Todo:
1) When switching pages, part of the old transmission shows up on the new transmission - got to fix that
2) The speed is 512 bytes/s currently to make it easier for me to debug. I plan to add extra send/receive buffers to get it to at least 32Kb/s

This is a maintenance release which mainly solves the following issues:
Bug Fixes:
* Fixed screen corruption while changing CPU speed in PS1 games.
* Retained the overclock speed after exiting game/app while nethostfs is active.
* Fixed adhoc PC nethostfs connection problem. You no longer need to mess with the wlan switch.
* The MP3 will now resume at the exact position when switching firmware versions (1.5 iR Shell to 3.x iR Shell, or vice versa).
* Fixed the nethostfs crashing when fails to connect to the server. Nethostfs should no longer crash the PSP.
* Fixed autoboot plugin problem with some configurations. The updated version should fix the issue.
Special thanks:
* Dark_AleX for his previous contributions & help in iR Shell development. We hope you enjoyed hacking the PSP. Happy retirement and we wish you best of luck for your future endeavors.
* Team M33 for continuing DA's work and their help in fixing M33 firmware compatibility issues with iR Shell.
* All iR Shell private forum and unofficial forum members for their contributions, including donations, testing, skin making, plugins, etc.
Please note:
A previous installation of iR Shell 3.6 is required for the update to work.
Visit the unofficial iR Shell forums at http://www.irshell.org for more skins and other goodies for iR Shell.

The game's turn-based battle system focuses on three concepts from the original story: bravery, growth and friends. As you attack your enemies, you build up a Brave Power meter, which indicates your courage. Once maxed out, you can perform a special attack. You build up your weapons by collecting gems and can even perform combination attacks with your two battle companions.

Analyst Michael Pachter believes Rockstar has delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto IV because it is struggling with development on the PlayStation 3.
And the Xbox 360 version of the game has suffered at least a six month delay as a result, due to contractual obligations that will have prevented the publisher from releasing the game first on Microsoft's machine, says the analyst.
"We think it is likely that the Rockstar team had difficulty in building an exceptionally complicated game for the PS3, and failed to recognise how far away from completion the game truly was until recently," said Pachter.
"We think it is also likely that Take-Two had a contractual commitment to Sony that it would not favour competitor Microsoft by launching the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV prior to launching the PS3 version, and believe that any delay of the PS3 version necessitated a delay of the Xbox 360 version," he added.
This failure to recognise development problems could dent investor confidence in the publisher, even after it has taken steps to improve the green light process for software development.
"Take-Two management stumbled badly for the first time during their tenure," commented Pachter.
"While the delay of GTA IV was clearly not the fault of new management, we believe that it should have been better understood several months ago, and should have been communicated to investors much earlier than today.
"The company has begun an initiative to improve the green light process for new projects, but given the delays of Manhunt and GTA, its process for monitoring projects under development appears to be a failure," he said.

Remember when we said that Lair and Heavenly Sword would be out on the same day, since the delay? Well it looks like that won't be the case. Heavenly Sword has now been "pushed back" (or "officially dated" if you want to be picky) for September 12th, a full week after Lair. Currently our minds are reeling. Just the thought of two highly anticipated titles actually being released is almost enough for us to forgive the recent delays and "official datings". Almost.
With August being the game wasteland that it is, with nary a Blu-Ray disc release to be seen, we're counting on Sony to step up to the plate and deliver us some decent PSN downloadable content for the next three weeks or so. To be fair, however, the last few weeks since E3 have been good for the PSN Store. Let's keep those demos coming. Ratchet and Clank and Lair, we're looking at you ...
