PSPDemon has uploaded a Video to Youtube of him accessing the Test ( debug ) Areas of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the PSP (via N64 Emulator Daedalus)
This is the Debug Rom of OoT, I mainly wanted to see if it could run at all, and what would the framerate be. And to my suprise... it ran pretty well on the debug rooms... i tried sound with it....and i was shocked... a framerate between 15-24 fps with sound... and the sound wasnt even half that bad!
Not only that, room 125 ( which PJ64 crashes on ) is accessible on daedalus! truely amazing in my opinion
ill be lloking in a few other games later on.... but for now, more looking into the OoT debuging.
PSPdemon notes you have to be on custom firmware. so dont ask how to get it on a 3.52

3r Ch4mp1 posted this news/release:
Coded by 3r Ch4mp1.
Parts of code are from Anissian's PRX tutorial samples and from DAX
HEN SDK samples and some other code that I found on pspdev.org forum.
Hope this crap can be useful to someone, I did only to learn and enjoy
with C/C++
Code from Booster's DevHook SDK is used in this plugin, it is included
with the sources in the CONTRIB folder
You are free to use and modify this source code, if you do it, give me credit
and keep this whole notice.
Setup
-----
Copy the content from the binaries folder to ms0:/seplugins, if you have a
VSH.TXT copy the line of the file bundled with this pack to your file.
Open the recovery and activate the plugin.
Changelog
---------
0.21 Version
------------
-On Screen notiications when you activate a mode are displayed, thes ones
are a bit experimental, so their behaviour may not be the adequate under
some situations.
-The Software Full Power Off has been modified, it now turns off completely
the system without risk of crash. If PowerLock is active, the Software Power Off
will be locked too.
-The plugin seems to work in all the places of the XMB but is recommendable to turn
modes in the XMB root to avoid conflicts with button press combos, crashes seem to have
been bypassed.

The PSP Scene has seen some great releases, many of them apparently dead or simply not updated, As a fan of emulators above all else i would love to see a new release of PS1P which is the best Playstation Emulator for the PSP bar the Official Sony Emulator.
Another emulator would be Sougens PSP Genesis one of the very biggest emulators at the time and as with PS1P both were released exclusively on DCEmu Forums (unlike sites who would have you think were released on their forums)
3rd Emulator that really needs an update must be the Port of Mame for the PSP and more importantly the port of Chui`s Mame4All emulator ported to the PSP by Kech.
Another project that i would dearly like to see news of would be the Snes emulator Snes_TYL by Yoyofr and co.
On the gaming side i would love to see a new version of Iris a project by our very own PSmonkey which really took the PSP Scene to a new level and boasted such promise. Speaking of PSmonkey his Nintendo 64 Emulator for the PSP showed such promise and is another that sorely needs to be revitalised.
Now i would never bug coders to restart projects or release new versions but these are projects that are so great that its a crying shame not to see new versions of them.
What projects would you like to see Updated ?

Via http://psp.scenebeta.com.
Neo_Ace has just released this funny "game". The idea comes from comercial game "Work Time Fun!", it contains a minigame in which we can see a face, and we can control a couple of eyes to put them in front of our face. Its an original idea, and now we can enjoy this feature using this simple Homebrew.
We will be able to "disguise" our selves using Hommer face, a kitten, a chinese woman or even a baby.
Controls:
- L - Close Left eye.
- R - Close Right eye.
- DPAD - Move "your" eyes.
Just download the file, extract and copy it in your Memory Stick's root, and play it via Game Menu.
The author will include more features in next releases.
Enjoy

This isn't really a software release or news, but I would like to share a couple hilarious and cool videos made with the PSP and the Chotto Shot. Then I'd like to challenge everyone with a Chotto Shot / Go!Cam to share their funny videos made with their PSPs.
Here's the background:
My friends came to my apartment today and we were messing around with my Chotto Shot. My friend Takashi is a really funny guy and he'll do almost anything for a laugh. The crazy video is a result of his antics. The other video is my friend Kenji who wanted to get in on the action. His wasn't quite as funny, but much cooler (He's the epitome of cool).
I hope you enjoy them and remember! Accept the challenge! Try to make something funnier or cooler! Good luck!

Hello folks,
I wanted to let you know that I've released version 2.0 of QPSPManager. QPSPManager is a file manager for Linux, Windows and Mac OS. It allows Application, Savegame, ISO and Video Management to keep a centralized way to manage the communication between your computer and your PC. Add, delete and copy applications, savegames, iso files and compress isos and videos to get them work in our PSP, all in one product!
The program includes a new feature: the Video Conversion, and now works on all three major OS out there: Windows, Mac and Linux (intel only for now).
It has been entirely rewritten in QT 4 version.
You can download the files on http://qpspmanager.sourceforge.net/downloads.html and visit http://thinkingeek.com/qpspmanager/index.php forums to get support and info about the program.
Thanks!

Auraomega posted this news/release:
This is a project I've been working on as a relief from my other couple of projects, I've decided to release it now incase anyone else would like to use it.
XMBE is an extention to the XMB (hence the E), what it will hopefully do is allow a lot more customization of the XMB through external plugins I'm making, this version only has a couple of features as I've not really spent much time on it... the features that are in this release include:
New clock, with the time in hour:minute:second:micros econd:AM/PM.
Full length date, currently this is in the English format, I may convert to USA format for the next version.
Remaining battery life
Glow or Flash effect on the lettering
Also included is my first extention, which is a basic screensaver, it turns on after roughly 30 seconds of inactivity in the XMB. It appears to only work when launched from XMBE, and theres no option to disable it other than removing the plugin from the XMBE folder (XMBE-S.prx is the screensaver).
The only major issue I have is that I've used a lot of libraries, so the plugin is quite large, I hope to shrink this eventually.

Eculewatt has posted a new version of his Piano app for the PSP:
Yes another version of the Piano Station Portable has been released. I couldn't come to the full demand of requests because i had alot of problems in the making of it.
I do have a request though. If anyone could tell me how i can be able make it so when a key is pressed, the screen clears, there is new text, different background picture, and the buttons have different functions, please PM me. I currently just use OSlib library but if their is a way to do it, please PM me.
New Features:
*XMB sound added
*New interface
*red/pink text color
*when a key is pressed, the screen quickly flashes what key on the piano you're pressing in blue.
*3 Drum sounds added on Down, Left, and Right
sorry it's not a lot cooler but thats because i don't know how to clear the screen and change everything as i mentioned above.
Also if anyone wants to suggest a feature, go right ahead.
(optional) if you have a feature and an example/code for it, PM it to me.

News/release from ManiacX:
Hello,
Well, here it is; the final version of CSP...Version 3.0.
So this concludes my last major project for the PSP Development Scene.
I too am now going to abandon the PSP Scene. As for the reasons:
A) School
B) New 360 -- Going to 360 Development (Possibly)
C) Getting bored of it (been here since FW Version 2.0)
D) Many noobs now joining (exploits = downgrades = new people)
E) PSP Slim (the whole thing, all over again)
F) Fanjita left
G) Ungratefulness (Biggest Reason); People are getting very ungrateful of people doing this for them. As though they have bought a service for their PSP that isn't meeting their expectations.
Blade Hunter is going to take over development of CSP. He may not make a release for a while as he is still analyzing the code.
Now, back to CSP:
I am not going to submit an official changelog, you'll just have to try it out and see for yourself. One thing I am going to say is that it includes an integrated version of Cygwin. That means you can use Cygwin from inside CSP (includes support for libraries).
Download:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8t0j98 (131,606 KB)
Status: Ready to download!
A Clean install is necessary (uninstall all previous versions).
Minimum System Requirements:
500MB Free Disk Space
512 MB RAM
Well, Good luck, and Thank you all.

The Homepage Portal is designed to get you to where you need to go, quickly, and in an attractive manor. The homepage portal V3.2 is filled with helpful applications, fun games, useful links, a working multi-engine search bar, and some other pleasant surprises too, all under a 2MB download! Nothing comes close to The Homepage Portal's seamlessness, usefulness, size, and quickness.

News/release from Akez
I created this homebrew app so i could flash my own waves to my psp.
I dont know whether there are other applications like this but i would still much rather use my own as i know there is nothing which harms my psp.
It is fairly easy to use and it shouldnt brick your psp unless the file you select to copy is not a system_plugin_bg.rco file.
PSP Wave Changer 1.2
I have added my own themes to this download. If you dont want them then just delete them.
If anyone does use this then use it at your own risk and make sure you know how to change the system_plugin_bg.rco file in flash0 using the recovery menu.
It is wise to only use this application with Custom Firmware as there is a way to restore any corrupt files using the recovery menu where-as 1.5 fw does not allow you to do this causing your PSP to become bricked.
Update. v1.2. Allows unlimited amount of files to be loaded instead of the limited 20 which was in previous versions. Link has been updated to newest version.
