via http://wololo.net/2012/10/11/hey-wol...ninja-release/
In 2012 the scene has released 6 user mode exploits in PSP Games, that were leveraged to run either VHBL, or, more recently, Total_Noob’s CEF. These releases accelerated recently with the publication of 3 game exploits in the past 3 weeks: Monster Hunter, Urbanix, and Mad Blocker Alpha. Despite this, some people weren’t able to grab the exploits and are asking me when the next one is coming.
There are many things to say about this. First, I want to make it clear that I did not develop any of these exploits myself, and I certainly do not own a patent for the concept of “Ninja Releases”. In other words, anybody with a usermode game exploit could make their exploit compatible with Total_Noob’s CEF, then handle a Ninja Release on their own, or even contact me to handle it.
For those of you who still didn’t figure that out, in order for Total_Noob’s CEF to run, 2 exploits are required: a usermode exploit to be able to run unsigned code (that’s the game exploits), then a kernel exploit to do a privilege escalation (that’s Total_Noob’s exploit). The kernel exploit itself is not tied to a specific game.
I think it is really essential to understand that there is nothing that really makes me necessary in this process at all. Sure, we have a huge community focused mostly on the PSP and the Vita, which makes the Ninja Releases very relevant to guarantee that a maximum amount of people get the information before Sony pulls the game, but what I’m saying is, begging me for a new release is not necessarily the best way to get what you want.
Again, finding usermode exploits in psp games is not difficult, and is well documented (also here). All you need is a hacked psp, lots of free time, and a brain. Some of you might wonder “well duh, if I had a hacked psp, why would I even want to look for more psp exploits?”, and I will reply that if everybody thought that way, we wouldn’t be enjoying Total_Noob’s CEF today. Others might think it’s too difficult… I am baffled at the amount of people who keep asking me where to find the info to find those exploits, when again it’s relatively well documented, and google is your friend. It’s not like there is a “psp hacking school” or something
Back to the recent Ninja releases, some people are wondering why we revealed two game exploits for firmware 1.81 (“why didn’t you guys wait for firmware 1.82?”), while others ask if we plan to release more.
As to why we released 2 game exploits for this, there are two reasons. First, the Urbanix exploit was leaked, and we feared the information didn’t spread fast enough for people who would have been interested in Total_Noob’s CEF.
Second, it is really essential to understand here that firmware 1.82 (or whatever comes next) will most likely patch Total_Noob’s Kernel exploit. If we had waited for firmware 1.82 to reveal the MBA exploit, it would have been “less” useful, as people wouldn’t have been able to use Total_Noob’s CEF, but rather something like VHBL, which provides less features. In other words, usermode exploits are less valuable than a Kernel exploit, so it made sense to “waste” a second usermode exploit on 1.81 rather than wait, especially since there are lots of other game exploits lying around.
So, why not release yet another game exploit before 1.82 then? Well, again, I do not control all the releases, and if you have a game exploit that you want to share for this, feel free to release it, or to contact me for a ninja release. But I see several reasons to think it wouldn’t really be worth it.
First, I strongly believe that people who were able to miss 3 exploits (Monster hunter, Urbanix, and MBA) in the past 3 weeks would not be able to catch a 4th one. Seriously, if you didn’t see the previous 3 ones, what makes you think you’ll see it this time?
Then, well, the Mad Blocker Alpha release wasn’t even planned initially, I just decided I’d try to contact Total_Noob and Frostegater on that subject, and they agreed it was a good idea… but my point here, people who ask for a second chance.. well, Mad blocker Alpha *was* that second chance… and technically, if you include all the previous exploits, it was like the 6th chance you had (yeah, Total_Noob’s CEF is still not ported to previous exploits besides Monster Hunter, but I am still convinced this is only a matter of time). Sure, a few people in there were really following all these events, and just got unlucky for various reasons, but the thing is, at this point I believe they probably represent a tiny minority that does not justify releasing a new usermode exploit (unless, of course, one of these guys actually has one and wants to share)
Finally, given how fast Sony removed Mad Blocker Alpha from theirs online stores, and the amount of leaks that happened for this release, I think the Ninja Release concept has shown its limits, and we need to adapt it. At least, we will be revising the list of trusted people more thoroughly.
On that point by the way, several people have contacted me to tell me the ninja release should happen progressively, so that less trusted people get the information after the others. This is already what’s happening, and this is why the information started to leak only days after the Ninja release had actually begun.
Well, I guess that’s what I had to say on this. Bottom line is, no extra Ninja release planned by me so far for 1.81, but of course nothing’s written in stone

Jpcsp SVN r2763 is compiled. JPCSP is the most advanced PlayStation Portable(PSP) emulator, allowing you to play your PSP games on a PC. Even though Jpcsp is written in Java, it can already reach 100% PSP speed on a lot of commercial games... and the emulator performance is constantly increasing. Jpcsp takes full advantage of dual-core processors, matching the PSP dual-core architecture. Even a quad-core can give a small performance improvement by leaving free CPU cores for the Java JIT Compiler and the graphics cache.
Jpcsp SVN changelog:
r2760
Fixed GE command PSUB: a patch division of 0 has the same effect as 1 (checked on a PSP using the splinesurface demo).
This should fix the WARNing "Unsupported bezier patches patch_div_s=2 patch_div_t=0".
r2761
Improved sceFontGetFontInfo: this function can be called on a closed font (tested on a PSP).
Improved sceFontFindOptimumFont: new algorithm to find the optimum font. Tested on a PSP.
r2762
Added tests for sceFontFindOptimumFont and sceFontClose to "Font Test" application.
r2763
Improved compatibility of sceIoDevctl: some operations do not delay/yield the current thread. This is important if the sceIoDevctl operation is performed by a thread having a high priority so that it does not give control to threads having a lower priority.

The guys over at Lavalit have released a new version of the beats of rage clone for the Dreamcast, Dingoo, PSP, Linux, Windows, GP2x, Nintendo Wii and Wiz.
OpenBOR is a continuation of the Beats Of Rage 2D game engine, which was originally
created by the wonderful folks over at http://www.senileteam.com.
In 2004, Senile Team released Beats of Rage, a free beat-'em-up for DOS inspired
by SEGA's Streets of Rage series and using sprites from SNK Playmore's King of
Fighters series. The game spread only by word of mouth, but it nonetheless
amassed popularity very quickly. Senile Team soon released an edit pack allowing
anyone interested to create a mod for the BOR engine.
In 2005, Kirby2000 asked Senile Team to open the source code to BOR. They
agreed, and OpenBOR was born. Development on the engine was continued by the
community, and still is to this day.
Heres whats new:

via http://wololo.net/2012/10/09/release...blocker-alpha/
Total_Noob just released an update to his eCFW for the Vita, CEF 6.60 TN Hen. The game makes compatibility with previous exploits easier to achieve, brings some bug fixes, but more importantly, brings compatibility with the game Mad blocker Alpha.
We organized a Ninja Release for the game, and hopefully many people were able to buy it in time, but sadly, the name of the game was leaked by a handful of people, and got pulled from the Sony PSN (this is at least confirmed for Europe, people in the US might have better luck) before we could do this public announcement. 15’000 members of our forums were part of the Ninja release, and in all honesty I wouldn’t expect all of them to keep their mouth shut, but it is sad to see that some major scene websites contributed to the leak, in the form of “rumor” articles and falsely naive posts. In the long run, those things hurt the scene more than necessary.
That being said, hopefully all the people who were looking for the ninja release got the info in time, and, well, if you missed the Monster Hunter exploit AND the Urbanix exploit AND the Mad Blocker alpha exploit, maybe the world wasn’t ready for your Vita to be hacked. There might be other opportunities in the future, but to be honest, a Kernel exploit has that “once a year” kind of feeling to it, if you ask me. And the “extra opportunity” for those who missed the release was actually the Mad blocker Alpha one, which really wasn’t planned initially.
For people on previous exploits who haven’t updated to one of the 3 exploits mentioned above, I’d say stay tuned. At some point TN’s work will be made open source (as he said a few days ago), and porting the eCFW to your exploit will become possible at that point.

via http://wololo.net/2012/10/09/pre-pac...vhbl-releases/
As announced early this morning, a modified H.bin has been created to effectively utilize Total_Noob’s TN-A on the older vHBL releases. This is great news for everyone who hasn’t updated, and doesn’t plan on updating to 1.81.
Thanks to VIP user & owner of zload.net, The Z, you can now download prepackaged TN-A releases for older vHBL releases.
Simply head on over to zload.net‘s Vita section and download the archive of your choice, named according to the exploited game you have.
You will need OpenCMA installed before attempting. You can read on how to achieve this here.
Then, once you have downloaded the archive from zload.net and have installed OpenCMA on your computer extract the archive to your C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\PSAVEDATA\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx \ folder (in Windows, path may be slightly different for MAC/Linux) and transfer the content to your Vita using the Content Manager app.
Load up your game and load the exploit just as you did with vHBL, and you will be presented with TNLoader.
Most importantly, remember to have fun, and thank the numerous people involved in these releases.
Note by Wololo: It has been confirmed that this will not work on any firmware below 1.80, so technically this is useful only for Monster Hunter owners. The problem comes from offset differences in older firmwares, that prevent TN’s exploit from running in its current state. Bringing compatibility to older firmwares is just a matter of changing the offsets to the right values, but that requires somebody to do the dev work.

Good news, everyone! If you happen to be running VHBL on one of the previous exploits such as Monster Hunter, this is for you: Japanese developer Hiroi01 created a new loader that makes Total_Noob’s 6.60 CFE TN-A compatible with your game. That’s right, this is not limited to Urbanix anymore. Please note that I haven’t tested this yet, and I suspect it might only work on 1.80 and 1.81, so technically this could be a solution limited to Monster Hunter owners (as far as I know, some offsets are different between all these firmwares, and that could prevent TN’s exploit from working correctly on earlier firmwares), but please give it a try and report success or failure.
Installation is relatively simple, but requires you to follow the steps carefully, don’t mix up the files
- Get VHBL for your user exploit (for example, VHBL for Monster hunter if you have Monster Hunter and are running on 1.80). The purpose of this step is not to get VHBL, but to get the exploited savegame for your game. VHBL is actually not used at all in this process.
- Get Total_Noob’s TN-A for Urbanix (yes, it’s the Urbanix version, at this point it does *not* matter that you don’t have the game Urbanix
- Get Hiroi01′s mod here
- Replace your VHBL’s H.BIN with the H.BIN from the mod
- Install all of that to your Vita with Open CMA, and run the exploit like you would normally run VHBL
- TN’s exploit should load.
Again, I haven’t tested this yet, so please report failure or success

Via http://wololo.net/2012/10/08/release...for-mhp3rd-jp/
Following the release of TN-A for Urbanix by Total_Noob, Japanese porters, hiroi01 and teck4 are bringing us yet another sandboxed PlayStation Vita HEN, this time for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.The Japanese release of Monster Hunter 3 for the original PSP was originally found to be exploitable in the past month. Since then hundreds of users have had the chance to download the vHBL port. Following the release of TN-A for the PSP Mini, Urbanix, many were left to wonder which vHBL releases the HEN would be back ported to.
Wonder no more, as this marks the first of what will possibly be numerous back ports to older Vita Homebrew Enabler releases. Just as the Urbanix exploit for the European version of the game was ported to the US and JP versions, there’s no doubt Monster Hunter will follow the same suit. It is asked, however, that you practice patience while the porting takes place.
If you are one of the lucky few who own MHP3rd on 1.80 or lower, you can hit up the source link for the official release of the save game you will need to start enjoying eCFW 6.60 TN-A on your Vita. There you will find instructions on what files to place where and how to execute the exploit. Stay tuned for further information and releases in the coming days and don’t forget to check out Wololo’s recent blog post regarding Tuesday’s ninja release and TN-B. Special thanks to Total_Noob, hiroi01, teck4, and Wololo for this release.

via http://wololo.net/2012/10/07/missed-...oming-for-you/
In the past 9 months, we have released 4 user mode exploits on this site, by letting our forum’s members know about them first, then making public announcements. This has been reasonably successful, and people who know where to look have been usually rewarded by knowing the name of the exploited game long enough in advance. Some people still haven’t figured that out. One typical uneducated comment I can see here or on other scene websites, when we do the public announcement, is “why do you guys announce it publicly, now Sony will patch it and nobody will get the exploit in time”. Well, for those who didn’t get it yet, we announce the exploit publicly days after members of our community have known about it. This way we guarantee that people who are really interested in homebrew on their vita actually get a good chance to get the game.
The rules slightly changed with the Urbanix exploit, as the exploit for this specific game was leaked. We did try to organize a Ninja release around this leak, but we had to give up when Total_Noob released his own eCFW for that game, and Sony took the game away within hours. As a result, many people missed the chance.
But Total_Noob announced something big today on PSPKing: his upcoming update of CEF TN will bring “another chance” for people who missed the Urbanix exploit, and this will happen on Tuesday. In other words, if you missed the Urbanix exploit, there’s another game exploit coming for you soon.
Of course, if you’re actually waiting for Tuesday to get the name of the game, you are probably missing the point of my article. And by the time you actually get the information (on a related note, believe strangers at your own risk!), it will be a matter of hours, not days, for you to take the decision and buy the game or not. Not only will the game be removed from the store as soon as the announcement is public, there is the additional risk that the kernel exploit actually gets patched with an upcoming firmware.
For people who are on the Monster Hunter exploit or other previous exploits that were used in VHBL, Total_Noob told me recently his upcoming update CEF TN B will make it much easier to port his work to existing game exploits. At this point, I cannot really say if it is better for you to stay on your current exploit, or if you’d rather download the new game. In any case if you have one of those previous exploits, do not update until you actually know what the new game is.

Developer yosh (a.k.a. wth), known among other things for the VHBL port on Everybody’s Tennis, but also for creating a great alternate menu for VHBL (yMenu), just released an update of his menu that is now compatible with Total_Noob’s eCFW for the Vita.
This menu brings nice features and animations to the original by Total_Noob: improved stability, the possibility to customize your background, etc…
To install, just extract the zip in your Urbanix save file, and copy the savefile again on your PS Vita, using OpenCMA
Alhough there should be no risk in this operation, be sure to have a backup of your vita system handy everytime you touch something related to Total_Noob’s exploit. We’re hearing horror stories of people who wiped out their game by mistake and didn’t have a backup. Remember that you can’t download the game from Sony’s stores anymore (and the day they put it back, the firmware will have been patched!)

via http://wololo.net/2012/10/04/total_n...ter-this-week/
In a very short statement on PSPKing.de, famous PSP/Vita Hacker Total_Noob announced he will be releasing an update to his recently published eCFW – emulator Custom FirmWare, a new term to design a PSP Custom firmware running within the PSP emulator on the PS Vita – later this week.
Total_Noob said the new release, named CEF 6.60 TN-B, will have bug fixes, improvements, as well as potential new features. The developer is asking the community to provide a comprehensive list of bugs if possible (rather than individual reports) so that he can start working on fixing as much as he can. We do have a thread where you guys can discuss bugs, but if one member of our community could compile this thread into a “clean” list, that would probably be super helpful for him.
Stay tuned, as more stuff keeps coming almost every hour for this exploit.

Wave’s Loader 3D 1.0 is a new 3D homebrew application which was made available to the PlayStation Homebrew community for PSP users . This cool homebrew application is capable of Reading 3D files and out putting it on your PSP Screen . Now this is awesome, Now developers who use this homebrew tool will be able to create some cool 3D homebrew game and or application using Wave’s Loader 3D 1.0 . So how does this work , Well below is a bit of information from the developer on how this PSP Homebrew Application known as Wave’s Loader 3D 1.0 works for the PSP System . It is quite simple, it serves to “read”, somehow format files. Obj and display them on the screen of the PSP. Not as lines corresponding to the code of the file, of course, but as a 3D image, the. Obj being a standard in 3D modeling.
Also the author he provided with his homebrew, 6 obj files to show what Lua is capable, although it is a programming language yet simple enough for beginners and especially, as too “basic” . This ranges from simple cube gigantic elephant through a pretty bow and a strange ship.
Wave’s Loader 3D could therefore be used in future projects of developers, but it shows pending 3D on PSP is accessible to all.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified - Vita's debut CoD game - will not contain the fan-favourite Zombies mode.
Activision rep Dan Amrich confirmed as much in a statement suggesting Zombies' omission was for a "decent reason" - the prioritization of multiplayer."That makes sense to me," said Amrich. "This is the first Call of Duty game on Vita, and it needs to deliver on its core strengths - arguably, multiplayer gaming with twin-stick controls in a portable format. That's the core experience, and that simply needs to come first.
"There's always a list of things you want to do and things you need to do, and at the end of the day, realistic goals are the ones that people actually attain."
Declassified hasn't made the best of first impressions, and this news will not be welcomed.
"Declassified will offer a Hostiles Mode, which challenges you to defeat waves of enemies, but alas, those enemies are not shambling corpses," added Amrich.
Decent enough reason, readers?

The PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale team has been very careful to treat the game's many franchises with respect, said director Omar Kendall in an interview with Polygon. "We take this very seriously, and sometimes the IP holders know best, and obviously we want to present the characters in the best way for the developers and the fans," he said, after noting that Irrational creative director Ken Levine wrote the dialogue for the Big Daddy / Little Sister character. According to Kendall, Levine "wrote every line of script and dialogue" for the pair.
The same care went into every character, with each studio getting "complete, 100 percent approval" on its characters, he said. That includes characters owned by Sony studios, like Nathan Drake, the star of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series.
As for Levine's script, we're presuming it includes several instances of "Mr. Bubbles" and "MMMRRUUUNGGHHH!"

Barely one month before the official launch of WRC 3, the new and much awaited racing title developed and published by Milestone, new challenges and the boss battles have been announced for the career mode. Created as special events, where the goal is to master a specific game mechanics.
Click here to watch the Challenges video.
The challenges will include:
• Drift Contest: Coloured poles are positioned along the road and the driver is awarded points to drift the car as near to them as possible.
• Rally School Contest: The player has to race on a section of a Special Stage trying to keep the car inside the cones.
• Crash & Run: Negotiate with the tracks hitting the bonus points and avoiding the minus points.
• Gate Contest: Reach the finish line avoiding obstacles along the track. Obstacles consist of a series of gates, some of them fake which can be easily destroyed and others that are far thicker, slowing the car down when hit. Every gate has an indicator that shows if it's a fake or not. However, the indicator is only activated when the player is very close. It's all about speed and reflexes!
• Survival Contest: Your car will degrade as the clock counts down, the only way to pass the challenge is to reach the finish line as fast as possible whilst passing over Repair Kits that will give the car a bit of health back.
• Top Rally Contest: The player races through a Special Stage driving to beat his opponent who is in a "Special Vehicle". Beat the vehicle to earn the highest points.
• Combo Contest: Mixes two or more mechanics from the other challenges.
Finally, the Boss Battle – in total 7 – will try the players abilities through a special head to head mode. They will have the chance to race against the boss driver of the track trying to reach the first position. This final stage race will allow access to the next track on the career mode.
Sébastien Pellicano, Milestone's Game Director affirmed,
"This year we've decided to make WRC 3 more accessible to players who are new to the franchise, through a brand new career mode. We can assure hardcore gamers that this won't change the nature of the WRC license itself. Plus we strongly believe that these new contents will offer a more dynamic experience to all the players who relish in the authenticity of WRC 3".
Developed and published by Milestone, WRC 3 will be available on the 12th of October 2012 for Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3, PC and PlayStation®Vita.
WRC 3 is available for pre-order now from the following retailers: Amazon,Play.com and Zavvi.
