PressMe 0.0.3 is now available! PressMe is my first homebrew coded in C. This verifies that the buttons on your PSP function properly if you are in doubt between the problem hardware or software on your PSP.
Example: The most experienced, you can 't leave your games HOME. When you turn on your PSP, it is in Recovery Mode alone, or you can not write in the OSK. Simply launch the homebrew and a message 's poster saying that a key is pressed while you don' t press any buttons, the problem is hardware. A simple example to show that this little homebrew a small utility despite its lightness. It takes everything to make a world not?
This takes into account homebrew 12 keys for the moment:
Croix
Round
Triangle
Square
Top
Low
Left
Right
L
R
START
SELECT
I did not have to add support for other keys and the joystick because it requires code a single PRX PressMe so that it is compatible PSP S & L and PSP FAT.

Last month Eastasiasoft said their space shooter Söldner-X was on target to become a PlayStation Network download in October. Since it’s the last week in October I thought we would see it on this Thursday’s PlayStation Store update. After searching their forums I discovered this was not the case. A moderator explains, “the game will be pushed back to a late November release.” I thought I would be searching for 20 secret keys to get a silver trophy too.

Uberjack posted this news today:
For those who are wondering, I’m not dead - just swamped with work and an unhealthy obsession with Fable II. Which is unusual for me, considering that I’m really not much of an RPG buff.
Some great news in the PSP-3000 hacking front came and went, the most promising one being the motherboard of the new system — it’s a TA-90, hence “pandorizable”, though currently with some sort of protection. Let’s hope not for too long.
In other news, I’ve noticed that while Atari800 has not seen any releases since mid-last year, work on it has been ongoing. While the changes are mostly structural (code reshuffling, etc…), they have made me consider an intermediate, possibly beta release of Atari800 PSP, based on code in the CVS repository. If that happens, I’ll most likely post a build in the forum for those interested to test (I’ll post an update here as well).
For the Fuse fans, here’s the situation on future releases: Philip Kendall, the principal developer of Fuse, commented earlier about changes coming to a future release; these changes will be substantial (from the sound of it, and at least from a structural standpoint), going so far as to change how extended disk support functions. Fuse PSP is being actively developed, and will be updated when the next version of Fuse is released, or shortly before.
There are other things being worked on at the moment, but as I’m not certain of their status, I’m going to keep any comments to myself, until I know for sure.

Sony's PlayStation business has been booming over the last couple of months, although the rest of the company isn't doing as well as the platform holder would like.
PS3 sales hit 2.43 million during the second quarter of Sony's business year (July to September). That's up 85% on the 1.31 million sold during the same period last year.
PSP sales rose sharply too, up 23% from 2.58 million to 3.18 million.
Sales of the ageing PS2 declined, down 25% to 2.5 million, but that figure still topped PS3's total.
While we're rolling out the stats, the company also sold over 21 million PS3 games during the second quarter, 11.8 million PSP titles, and 23.1 million PS2 games.
So the PS2 is in decline, but it's still outperforming its successor in terms of hardware and software sales, a whole eight years after it was first released. That's pretty good going in our books.
While the PlayStation business performed well, things were less rosy across Sony's wider business during the three months in question.
The company's overall quarterly profit fell by 72% to $214 million and, according to Edge-Online, its share price fell to a 16-year low ahead of the release of the financial results. Ouch.

News from theFoo
Some time ago I was contacted by a nice guy in the US. He asked me wether I would be interested in building a psp mod for his partner. She has limited use of one of her hands and as such cant use a psp, but she can however use a SNES controller perfectly (I've seen it, its quite a talent). So he asked if I would be able to add a SNES controller to a PSP for her.
Well at long last here it is.

Newly released today:
It has been 6 months and more since the game was upgraded to Spec II via a downloadable patch and gamers are all craning their necks for Spec III, a new update. While owners of the old GT5 Prologue can download the Spec III patch off the net, those new to the game can get this completely updated game via a Blu-Ray Disc.
The modifications that went into the game include the addition of new cars: GT from Citroen, Ferrari California by Ferrari and Evola by Lotus, resulting in a total of 74 cars. A new reward system is used in all the events, you get more prize money by winning and the developers have readjusted the difficulty levels of the races.
Time trial penalties are removed, instead the time records you set would be deleted all together if you break a rule. The execution of techniques such as drift will differ slightly. Other technical aspects such as sounds and manuals are all adjusted.

Newly released today:
Thunder Force is one of the long living classic series that pushes the limits of the consoles which the games are published on. The first game was released in 1983 as a horizontal scrolling shooter.
As the games developed, new elements are added to the series, like enabling a 360 degrees scroll function and introducing more planes and weapons for every new installment.
It inherits the adrenaline pumping game play, the voluminous amount of weapons and stages. If you are sick of the gimmick filled games and is dying to have some traditional shooting fun, Thunder force IV is the game for you.
A star studded cast of sound producers are working together to hit you with full thundery force. The list of composers are: Tamayo (Rayforce) Sato Tsuyoshi (Raiden Series) Furukawa Motoaki (Gradius II) and Kaneko Tsuyoshi (Sega Gaga)
The war between the Ohn Empire and the Federation are still in full swing. Participate in the war effort in this famous title via your PlayStation2.
Feel the adrenaline that run through your veins, Thunder Force VI is available on PlayStation2™ as a Japanese version for US$ 59.90 only.

Capcom sure is taking its time with Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Ultra Mega banana remix edition, 292 to Brent Cross, or something), but at least these screens serve as assurance it's going to look pretty good when it is finally released.
HD Remix is a remake of the original Street Fighter II Turbo, featuring all the original gameplay code wrapped in nice new high-resolution 2D visuals.
Capcom promises the game, due for PSN and XBLA, will be out this year.

Looks like that rumored Mirror's Edge demo will be hitting the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier than we thought.
Electronic Arts just announced that the demo for the free-running blank canvas will hit the Playstation Store on Oct. 30 and Xbox Live Marketplace on Oct. 31. The demo will include the prologue of the game, a tutorial and a segment of the single-player story mode.
Also people who pre-order the game through “select retailers” will receive an unlock code for access to the Time Trial mode. In the Time Trial mode you will have to try and find the fastest routes through chunks of the city.
I’ll be interested to hear if it makes anyone trying it motion sick. I was fine when I played the game, but Ash got all green and icky feeling.

Sony has belted out the track listing for SingStar ABBA, which will be released here on 14th November.
The game's arriving on both PS3 and PS2, although we're not sure when. "Soon" is the best ThreeSpeech can do. The last official date we heard was Christmas.
The PS3 version, which is presumably a bit more expensive, also has extra and exclusive ABBA songs.
So, without further ado, here's the list in full:
- "Chiquitita"
- "Dancing Queen"
- "Does Your Mother Know"
- "Fernando"
- "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"
- "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do"
- "Knowing Me, Knowing You"
- "Mamma Mia"
- "Money, Money, Money"
- "One of Us"
- "Ring Ring"
- "SOS"
- "Summer Night City"
- "Super Trouper"
- "Take a Chance on Me"
- "Thank You for the Music"
- "The Name of the Game"
- "The Winner Takes It All"
- "Voulez-Vous"
- "Waterloo"
Tracks exclusive to PS3:
- "Happy New Year"
- "Head Over Heels"
- "The Day Before You Came"
- "Under Attack"
- "When All Is Said and Done"

The PS3 is rapidly becoming the bread-winner for many of the third party publishers. We wrote a story a few months ago where according to EA's financial report the PS3 was the clear bread-winner over the Xbox 360 and the Wii. Now it seems that Konami, Namco Bandi and Ubisoft have joined the ranks of EA where the PS3 console is bringing in more money than the Xbox 360.
It's mind blowing that not only is the PS3 competing toe-to-toe with the Xbox 360, it is out performing the later in many of the instances. Considering that the Xbox 360 has a larger install base by 5 million, it looks like the PS3 is performing more efficiently in terms of sales for third party publishers.
Since 2005, when the Xbox 360 first launched with no competition, it seems that the PS3 has been steadily climbing in terms of the software sales. This pretty much means that the PS3 has been taking more and more potential Xbox 360 sales as time goes by. The future for the PS3 looks bright and healthy, however if the current trend continues the Xbox 360 might find itself struggling to compete in the market.

Looks like the upcoming PSP version of Super Stardust is shaping up quite nicely. This new trailer showcases how well the handheld is able to translate the popular PS3 arcade shooter. Although the polygon count and framerate take a dip, Super Stardust Portable still looks the role.
The trailer also teases a new "Impact Mode," which piques our interest. What is it? We're not exactly too sure, but it looks like it makes crashing into things a very good thing.
