PlayStation Network users are now able to convert Sub Accounts to Master Accounts.
Sony Network Entertainment VP Eric Lempel announced the much-requested feature in a post via the PlayStation Blog.
"Starting today, PlayStation Network (PSN) users will gain the ability to upgrade a sub account to a master account," he said on Thursday.
"We're always listening to user feedback, and this is a feature that many of you have asked for. You'll be able to upgrade an account first through the web and later through PlayStation 4."
He went on to confirm: "Your profile will be carried over when upgrading to a master account, along with items like your friends list and Trophies."
Sony has posted instructions on how to carry out the process here.

An analysis of articles published online in 2014 has shown that PlayStation enjoyed around 35 per cent more coverage than Xbox.
A report from Ico Partners’ Thomas Bidaux found that the PlayStation brand as a whole was the subject of 560,573 articles while the Xbox brand received 411,380. That number was almost matched by PS4, with 400,751 articles. Xbox One received 301,132.
At the beginning of the year the gap between the two was minimal, but it increased as the year progressed.
“Interestingly enough, Xbox One stands about the same level as Android or iOS,†Bidaux added. “Keep in my mind that the media we track are biased towards gaming. A number of tech media are included, but in no way is this as exhaustive as the game media. Android and iOS being at the same level as the Xbox One is quite impressive.â€
Nintendo is excluded from these results as a full year’s worth of data was not available.

A new release of the Playstation emulator ePSXe has been released.
|
The changes are:
- Added HLE bios support (an official PS1 is recommend yet). From this version ePSXe can run games without an official PS1 bios. Compatibility is lower and memcards support limited.
VERY IMPORTANT: Savestates done with a official PS1 bios are NOT compatible with savestates done with ePSXe HLE bios (Besides it uses a different namespace).
- Fixed multi-bin format in Windows version (redump format). Now it supports the games saved in multiple bins files + cue file directly.
- Better SBI subchannel support (for example in Medievil) and fixed SBI in games with ECM format. Added SBI support in MDS/MDF format.
- Added support to save memcards by game. Enabling this option it will create 2 memcards by everygame in memcards/games/ folder, using the serial of the game. In multidisc games, it will share the same memcards by all of discs
- Fixes to the CD-Rom decoder and the core which made almost 20 more games playable or working better like. For example this fixed: Arcade Party Pak: Rampage now works, Crash Bash: Pause menu now works, Final Fantasy V, Junclassic C.C. & Rope club, Kamen Rider v3, Minakatakudou Toujyou, NHL Face Off 2001, Nishijin Pachinko Tengoku Vol.3, Omizu no Hanamichi, Sentient (-i), Simple 1500 Series Vol.006 - The Hanafuda [Rerelease], Standby Say You, Tombi, Tombi 2, Twins Story - Kimi ni Tsutaetakute, Vanark: Pause menu now works, Worms Armageddon, Yuukyuu no Eden - The Eternal Eden, Yeh Yeh Tennis
- New experimental dmachaincore that maybe can fix some graphic glitches in some games like Tomb Raider Chronicles or Metal Gear Solid. Usage execute epsxe.exe -dmachaincore |

First version of Sony PSP emulator for Android/Windows has been updated. Changes:
- Many, many bug fixes in JIT and elsewhere, improving compatibility
- Proper fix for Zenfone and related devices
- Direct3D 9 supported as a rendering backend on Windows, helps on old GPUs and can be faster than OpenGL in many cases
- You can now create specific configs per game
- FPU rounding modes much better supported, fixes the Peace Walker boss that was undefeatable. NOTE: This breaks saves in Gods Eater - you must turn off the better rounding, load your save game, turn it on and save.
- The JIT now uses SSE on x86, improving speed considerably. This does not affect ARM devices, that's for the next version or two.
- Improved audio output code on both Windows and Android, reducing audio latency on Windows and on some Android systems
- FFMPEG upgraded, fixed some music hangs ("GHA phase shifts")
- Some Ad Hoc improvements, coldbird.net is now default adhoc server. Ad Hoc still unfinished and hard to use.
- Graphics fixes: Bezier/spline drawing fixes, vertex position fixes, DanganRonpa on Adreno fixed, flat shading fixed, vertex cache improved, some PowerVR blockiness issues fixed, screen scaling filter added, Google Cardboard support
- Simulate UMD speed better, fixing hangs in several games
- More Atrac3 fixes, fixing hangs
- Somewhat better disk full handling
- Fixes to dynamic unloading of code, fixing problems in GEB and TRM 2/3
- Updated to SDL2 where applicable (Linux, Mac)
- Some new features, like analog/dpad-swap hotkey, graphics hack for Phantasy Star, show last bit of debug log in dev tools, etc
- No more need for MSVCRT DLLs on Windows

Qwikrazor is on a coding spree! Even though the Numblast exploit for firmware 3.36 has only been announced a few hours ago, he already finished the exploit files. The installation of the ARK-2 eCFW for the Numblast exploit is pretty easy. You simply copy the savedata folder from your PC to your PS Vita and start Numblast. Thats it. Numblast is one of the few auto-triggering exploit games, which do not require any kind of user input to trigger the exploit. Since Numblast is neither a Minis, nor a firmware 3.18 exploit game, it is capable of running the ARK-2 eCFW itself.

Hello guys, here are some news on the Linux front. Yes I know, I ought to do that more regularly
In short progress is slow but steady
* A port to wxWidget 3.0 was done recently, mostly because Debian will drop wxWidget 2.8 . It is enabled by default but wx2.8 is still there, you can restore is with the -DWX28_API=TRUE build option.
- Most of regressions were fixed so it will work as bad as before
No I'm kidding, it actually works better on my PC. Feel free to test it. - Unfortunately Windows is still blocked to wx2.8, contributions are welcome (first step is to add a wx3.0 library build)
- Some wxWidget libraries depend on GTK3. PCSX2 code was updated to support GTK3 but wxWidget is not as stable as expected. Nevertheless, you can enable GTK3 with the -DGTK3_API=TRUE build option (debug build only).
* Better support of cross-building (thanks to Micove). Cmake used to select wrong libraries between lib32/lib64/lib/...
- You need to use this new option on 64 bits machines -DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=cmake/linux-compiler-i386-multilib.cmake
- Note: build.sh will do it by default, so just build.sh
* Support of AVX
- code is now compiled with -march=native to support all optimizations of your CPU. It can be disabled with the -DISABLE_ADVANCE_SIMD=TRUE build option (for example distribution or inside VM)
- Note: GSdx (Linux) needs a couple of updates to support SSE4x. Again contributions are welcome, check this issue https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/438
* New (nearly) playable game: Bouken Jidai Katsugeki Goemon
- Full support of MMU with the interpreter, and a dedicated game-fix for the recompiler
- No more TLB misses! (full story will be posted in http://pcsx2.net/developer-blog.html in coming weeks).
- Crashes are reported on GSdx windows not sure on Linux.
* Finally, Ubuntu PPA is up to date with the latest feature. However, Ubuntu 12.04 support is discontinued!
Ongoing work (aka the plan for the next months):
* port lilypad to Linux
- It will bring Force Feedback, MultiTap and it might work better in several games.
- I'm close to have keyboard support but help would be appreciated to build a full GUI. Please contact us if you are interested.
* port GSdx to openGL 4.5
- A long time ago, I planned to update the code to support GL_ARB_direct_state_access. It was postponed because no official driver supported it.

What does upgrading a PlayStation Network sub-account to a master account have in common with buying lottery tickets? Well, now both are things you can do when you turn 18. That's right: You won't have to start a new account (or lose any of those platinum trophies) to get an unrestricted connection to game-broadcasting, messaging and PSN Store spending limits. For now, you have to handle the process via the Sony Entertainment Network website, but the PlayStation Blog says that it's en route to the PlayStation 4 as well. Xbox Live has had this feature for awhile, of course, so it's nice to see Sony's listened to its community and followed suit. Naturally, if you're a parent and don't think your kid is ready for unfettered access to everything PSN offers, Sony's quick to note that this is in no way mandatory. Given some of the things we've seen and heard while playing online with adults, that's almost positively one for the "win" column.

PS4 Remote Play is now possible on a number of non-Sony Android smartphones.
Sony’s official PS4 Remote Play app allows owners of supported Xperia handsets to stream games from their console. However, Polygon reports that an unofficial version of the app brings this functionality to a wide range of non-Sony smartphones – with the Samsung Galaxy S3 demoed in this video.
Effectively, this lets users play titles such as The Last of Us, Destiny and the upcoming The Order: 1886 from anywhere where there is an internet connection. An on-screen virtual button overlay means that no peripherals are required, although controller support is offered – albeit with an extra layer of technical tinkering.
As the app is unofficial it’s not as simply as simply downloading it from Google Play, but there are guides out there for those with the technical nous.

Spanish console modder MakoMod has transformed a PlayStation One into a working model of Midgar, the technologically advanced city from Final Fantasy VII.The modification took just over eight months being built from scratch with original models created by cold casting with aluminium for a real metal finish. As the video above showcases, the console is fully functional, which is why it may be of interest to know that it’s being sold on eBay. However, do note that it’s restricted to PAL – Europe only.If you look closely, you can see that not only is the large structure of Midgar included in the model, but also smaller details such as Aerith’s church and the train station where Final Fantasy VII starts. It also has LEDs in places that light up when the console is turned on, and some parts glow in the dark.More pictures of the modded console are below. And if you try to bid for it on eBay, well, good luck to you. image: http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/1618282_1444270522529936_5076733185923091719_o_thu mb.jpg
