Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have introduced an incentive program to encourage users to "upgrade" to PSPgo. They’re offering free downloads of any three games from a list of 17.
The catch is that you need to register your PSPgo on PSN, then log in to the network with your old PSP while there’s a UMD in its drive. This allows you to download a special PSPgo theme and gives you a voucher that will allow you to download your three free titles. For people in Europe, this essentially means four free games, since SCEE are offering Gran Turismo PSP free with every PSPgo (while SCEA is bundling GT PSP with PSP-3000) for early adopters.
The "Rewards" program will be in effect October 1- March 31, 2010. Here’s the list of 17 games:
* Buzz!: Brain Bender * Buzz!: Master Quiz * Daxter * Echochrome * Everybody’s Golf PSP * Killzone: Liberation * Lemmings PSP * LocoRoco * MediEvil * Patapon * Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice * Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters * Resistance: Retribution * SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 * Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror * Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow * WipEout Pure

Okay, so the PSP Go won't have any upgrade incentive programs for owners of older generation PSPs -- at least there will be plenty of purchasing options for those who still decide to make the switch. According to a Sony memo recently received by IGN, the PSP Go will have 16,000 pieces of digital content available for PlayStation Store perusers from the day the device hits store shelves. (Well, store shelves located inside stores that haven't boycotted it.)
Sony broke this number down, claiming that the Store will house 225 full downloadable games (including PSP titles, PSN-exclusives, UMD Legacy titles and PSP Minis), 2,300 movies and 13,300 television episodes by October 1. Sony highlighted Gran Turismo PSP, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny as a few notable day-one downloadables. Those who rely on visits to their nearest gaming retailer for social interaction can purchase download codes for a number of other titles, including Daxter and Secret Agent Clank.
See, retailers? The folks at Sony hasn't left you completely out in the cold. You can stop giving them the stink-eye now.

Updated release from Liberty
Hi. Thanks sakya for the excellent audio player for PSP. It supports many fornats. But most music I have is extracted by EAC. The music is one cue sheet and one flac like this:
CDImage.flac
CDImage.cue
I hope you can support cuesheet in the further release.
I have coded a cue player for myself. I am a novice programmer and the code is of low quality and I have just get it working today. I hope it will help you.
Note, the player is already been compiled. So if anyone want to test, just copy the cueplayer directory to your PSP.
Also, to compile the code, libflac and vorbis are needed.
Support OGG vorbis format.
Fix a lot of stability bugs.

The PSP has seen a number of revisions over the course of its existance, and the PSPgo is the latest evolution of the system that's hitting retail in less than two weeks. With the system's launch right around the corner, Sony sent us a small note that detailed a few pieces of juicy information that PSP fans might find interesting.
On October 1st in North America, 16,000 pieces of digital content will be available for the PSPgo. This includes 225 downloadable games (which is a combination of full PSP titles, PSN exclusives, UMD legacy titles and Minis), 2,300 movies and 13,300 television episodes. Key titles that will be available for download on day one include Gran Turismo, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and God of War: Chains of Olympus.
Also, PlayStation Network Game Cards (voucher codes that allow users to download full PSP games) will be available in stores to give players another method for purchasing content. Games that will be made availabe in this fashion include Gran Turismo, Daxter, Patapon 2, Secret Agent Clank and Twisted Metal: Head-on.

SEGA's portable follow-up to the PlayStation 3 underground hit, Valkyria Chronicles, won't just be a graphical downgrade for you to play on the move. The sequel will take advantage of the PSP's portable online infrastructure, adding both a versus mode and co-op gameplay.
"We are incorporating wireless ad-hoc play into the game, which will feature both co-op and versus modes," the developer said on the official Sony blog. "We can't really talk too much about it in detail yet."
When asked if Valkyria Chronicles 1 could receive a similar multiplayer update of its own, he said basically "no" but said it could be done should the series head back to PlayStation 3.
"Valkyria Chronicles' engine wasn't made for this sort of gameplay, so we can't just patch a versus mode into the first game," he said. "But if fans really want that, and the development team really feels that it would be a compelling addition to the Valkyria Chronicles franchise, then that might be when we create another Valkyria Chronicles game for the PS3."
