Available for new build Jpcsp, PSP emulator for PC developed in Java that comes to revision 1315. I remember that in order to use the emulator, you need to install Java on your PC.
Changelog:
Quote:
Rev1315: Implemented the R_MIPS_NONE relocation type. I could not find any information on this type, but the implementation seems to fit for The Game "Little Britain". An INFO message is displayed for games using this relocation type in order to identify them and cross-check the implementation
Rev1314: Performance improvement in texture cache: reload / check only if the texture texture parameters have been changed since last PRIM. This might improve some of the FPS games.
Rev1313: Fixed sceCtrlReadBufferPositive () and sceCtrlReadBufferNegative (): The Calling
thread is delayed if the controller sampling cycle has not elapsed. A proper
implementation using interrupts is in the pipeline. This fix is needed for homebrew developer evhoria.
Rev1312: Simple refactoring perserving funcionality
Rev1311: Removed Catch That just threw again, closed resource using the function for that.
Rev1310: Missing argument in string format.

Xseed is bringing Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance to North America as a digital download exclusive scheduled for release on Thursday, January 21.
Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance is the Monster Hunter 2G Portable equivalent of the Valhalla Knights series. Marvelous refined the game and made one major system change. Instead of controlling six party members, Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance only gives you four characters.
Here’s a list of changes and new features:
- Addition of warp points scattered in convenient locations throughout the game.
- Combat streamlined with a maximum party size of four members instead of six, allowing for a more deliberate pace and greater party control.

- Other additional content includes 7 new monsters, 19 new quest items, 4 new event characters, 10 new single player quests, and 10 new multiplayer quests.
Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance is priced at $29.99.
Need something to play now? Xseed put a demo of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony on the PlayStation Store which gives players bonus equipment they can use in the final game. Lunar: Silver Star Harmony has a February/March…ish release window.

Aksys Games plans to release a PSP version of excellent fighting game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger in March.
Dubbed Blazblue Portable, the game will mirror the PS3 and 360 versions - impressively retaining all animations and game modes within.
What's more, the PSP version will have extras: regular and unlimited versions of all characters plus local multiplayer for four - two fighting, two spectating.
There's also a new Legion mode, where a party of 20 fighters can be assembled to tackle a map full of enemies.
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger was released on PS3 and 360 last August and remains, alongside the likes of Street Fighter IV, one of the very best fighting games around.

PS3 RPG Last Rebellion has been blessed with Western release dates - a slightly vague February in North America, and a much more precise 12th March for Europe.
Yes, that's three days after Final Fantasy XIII. Optimistic. In its defence, it does follow hot on the heels of the Japanese launch on 28th January.
Last Rebellion is a turn-based role-player from Nippon Ichi and Hit Maker, which comes to Europe via Tecmo Koei. It has twin lead characters - one a physical fighter, one a magic user - and a cel-shaded graphical style.

Actor Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake, has hinted that production on Uncharted 3 will begin this year.
Talking to GamePro about his career so far, North said 2010 is going to be "a busy year" as there are sequels to Assassin's Creed II and Uncharted 2 that need doing. He also mentioned "a couple of other big premiers that are still unannounced".
Developer Naughty Dog has said before that it's not done with Uncharted, and that there are "lots of adventures" left for Nathan Drake.
Through his voice work on Uncharted 2, North has become a bit of a star. But in 2003 Nolan North was out of a job - kicked off a failed soap opera and left to fend for himself.
Thankfully voice agent Pat Brady had snapped him up. "I had to reinvent myself as a voice actor," he said. "I had a feeling it was going to be big."
He did, and in 2007 when Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was released, North became an instant hit. "Things started blowing up when I did Uncharted," he said. North was soon taking roles across the industry, starring in inFamous, God of War, Halo, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed II and more.
"I feel terrible for Brad Pitt. The anonymity of voice over is one the biggest advantages of the job. You make a great living, support your family, and nobody's going to bother you. My 'all day' is probably 4-hour days," explained North, adding that this lets him focus on his family life "more than most". North was nominated alongside Mark Hamill and Jack Black at the Spike Video Game Awards in the Best Voice category. He said he couldn't quite believe it and realises he owes "a lot" to the videogame industry.
"I'm constantly waiting to be found out; for someone to say, 'Jig's up! You're having too much fun!' If they don't figure it out, I'm putting 'He got away with it' on my tombstone."

January 18th, 2010, 21:11 Posted By: wraggster
BBC iPlayer has hit a new milestone of 100 million requests per month for its TV programmes - one in eight of which are being viewed using a games console.
The landmark was reached in November and continued into December, when the service received 114.8 million requests.
It's a figure that has been boosted by its increased availability, according to the BBC, and one in eight requests are now coming from either a PlayStation 3 or a Wii - an increase of 74 per cent on November 2009.
iPlayer launched on the PlayStation 3 in September and on the Wii in November.
"Breaking the 100 million barrier is a great way to kick off 2010 and these figures show that by offering simple and varied access to BBC iPlayer people are really finding it easy to catch up with their favourite programmes at a time that suits them," said the BBC's director of future media and technology, Erik Huggers.
"I expect more people to start using the service as we continue to make it more widely available and I'm looking forward to some of the new innovations we have coming to the service later on in the year."
New Year's Day proved the most popular day for the iPlayer over the Christmas holiday, with David Tennant's final appearance as Doctor Who notching up 1.3 million requests alone.
Following the launch of the service on PlayStation 3, the BBC called the user response to it "amazing" as the console quickly became the second most popular platform for viewing after PC, accounting for 10 per cent of viewers.
At the moment, the Xbox 360 is the only console which doesn't offer BBC iPlayer due to an incompatibility with the BBC's remit to offer the service free to licence payers and Microsoft's charging of consumers to access its Live service.

Global sales of MTV’s The Beatles: Rock Band now stand at 1.7m, four months after it was first released on September 9th 2009.
That’s according to the LA Times, which reports that Viacom’s executive VP of games Scott Guthrie is “pleased with the holiday sales, though he noted that some European markets performed below the company's expectations”.
By comparison, Rock Band 2 had sold the same amount of games in North America alone after four months. Sales of MTV’s Beatles games in America currently stand at 1.18m.
Guthrie did add, though, that margins have been better on The Beatles version than they are on Rock Band because more people are buying the standalone software and not the plastic instruments – Viacom is still losing money on every accessory sold.
He goes on to say the 1m songs have so far been purchased on the game’s digital store.
Big things were expected of The Beatles: Rock Band, which was precisely times to release alongside the band’s digitally remastered albums. Though we don’t know the precise number, Viacom is said to have paid a huge licensing fee to get the Fab Four on board.

Okay, today I added one interesting feature; a config file where you put int the startup directory of ASIV.
It's by default set to ms0:/ you can change that manually to anything you want. So in theory, you could also browse your flash and/or umd disc.
I've also added compatibility for .PCX images.

January 17th, 2010, 21:47 Posted By: wraggster
This lengthy thread at the Playstation forums suggests that some combination of the 3.10 firmware and Modern Warfare 2 is killing PS3 Blu-ray drives. Maybe it's true, or maybe they're all just drinking the kool-aid.
Forum members have reportedly pinpointed several reproducible freezes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which they claim began only after installing the 3.10 firmware (the most recent release is 3.15). After experiencing this freezing, many members reported problems in other games, leading them to conclude that the firmware update adversely affected their Blu-ray drives.
Blu-ray diodes do have a finite life span, and it's hard to say if in these cases the drives have just run their course or if there is in fact something amiss with the new firmware. It's tricky. Sometimes, when an individual settles on an explanation for something, other people force themselves to find "evidence" corroborating that explanation. Sort of like how everyone started finding references to 2pac faking his own death in his music (those are real, though).
It could all just be a coincidence, or the Blu-ray diodes could be dying of old age, or there really could be some issue with the new firmware that is causing drives to crap out. If you have any insight, share it in the comments.

Sony has said that its PSPgo 'Free Game' offer will continue to run until January 31. Here's how you get a free game if you cough up for a new PSP.
"If you buy a PSPgo you can get either the ultra-realistic driving simulator Gran Turismo, brutal off-road racer MotorStorm Arctic Edge or awesome action-adventure Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines to download completely free," says the Euro PS Blog. "In Germany the 3 games that are on offer are Gran Turismo, MotorStorm Arctic Edge and LittleBigPlanet.
"All you have to do is set up or sign into your PlayStationNetwork account, then visit PlayStationStore to download a special PSPgo Promotion Theme. This will trigger an email from PlayStationStore containing an e-voucher. Enter the code onto the PlayStationStore via your PSPgo and select which game you would like to download. The voucher will be with you within a week, but you should get it much quicker than that."
The offer is also open to all existing PSPgo owners (if you haven't downloaded your free game already). "So if you have bought your PSPgo before today you will be able to go onto the store right now, download the PSPgo Promotion Theme and we will send you a voucher to download one of the great games on offer."
Is a free game enough to make you shell out for a PSPgo, if you haven't already?

Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert doesn't like you, cheap gamer. When quizzed by Develop, the PixelJunk creator described one thing that disappointed him most about the industry: gamers that refuse to open up their wallets. "Gamers complaining about our games being too expensive at 10 dollars. I'm not sure this is an industry problem, but it seems ridiculous that people complain about that price point." Cuthbert seems particularly sensitive about this issue, noting the rampant piracy of PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe on PSP earlier this year.
The naysayers seem few and far apart, though. PixelJunk Shooter went on to become the second best-selling game on PSN in December. Some members of the Joystiq community have even suggested the game is worth "more than $10." Obviously, the studio is doing well enough with its PSN endeavors, as Cuthbert confirms that "more PixelJunk is definitely in the pipeline." With PixelJunk Dungeons and presumably PixelJunk Shooter Encore in the works, the indie studio clearly has a lot to work on at the moment.
