After a death-defying jump across a broken bridge, a tight squeeze between two juggernauts and a speedy drive through a collapsing building, the first Stuntman 2 shots have made their debut appearance and you can see them now by clicking the images tab above.
While no solid gameplay details have been released, the shots show a variety of vehicles (dune buggies - yay!) and dusty looking desert and city street locations, so expect to prove your wheelman skills in a diverse range of motorised machines and movie scenarios.
We were fans of the original but, with load times that were as painful to endure as a bumper-to-bumper jam on the M25 and some sadistically tight objective time limits, it was just too fist-clenchingly frustrating to be a classic.
If the game's new developer, Paradigm Studios, can avoid these pitfalls then Stuntman 2 for PS3 and Xbox 360 should be an exploding barrel-roll of petrol-flavoured fun. And if it finds room to improve on the make-your-own-mayhem stunt arena then we'll be very happy stunt bunnies indeed.

There must be something really hard about making those Blu-ray players that no one seems to have anticipated. First Sony had to announce twice that its BDP-S1 was going to be delayed until December 2006 due to software bugs. Now Pioneer has been delayed too, for unspecified failure to meet "quality control requirements," which may or may not be related to the other assorted blue laser shortages. The BDP-HD1, which was due to come out this month (after having been delayed from its previous May launch), won't ship now until December as well. The price, however, has dropped since we last eyed it at CES -- it's now down to $1500. We're still not sure which is bluer, us consumers, who have been trying to get one of these Blu-ray players until we go blue in the face, or Pioneer, who is singin' the blues. (This entry has been brought to you by the color "blue.")

Forget about 0.1, this is 0.2! Directly after releasing 0.1 I found out that I had included far to complex jumping functions that just didn't work. It was (almost) impossible to get to the finish-door. Now I've chucked out the new and sticked with the old, and tested it some more. It now plays fine and you will absolutely enjoy playing it. Please read the Read-me because it covers some things you must know (button configuration an bugs etc.) If you make your own levels with the level editor, please send the files to undrmnr@gmail.com, I would highly appreciate it! There's a good change that your submitted levels will be included in the next version, or made available to the WLAN download servive I might make.
For those who do not know: Special Operations is a 2d splinter cell clone (platformer) with a level editor
I want to explicitly mention that this version may be distributed to wathever site you want.
If you distribute it, post a reply with some details.
changelog
--------------------------------------
-30-10-06 v0.2
- Added screenshot feature
- Fixed jumping issues
- improved shooting. Almost all enemies can be shot now.

Mega Massive release for the PS2 and at Play Asia:

description
Since 1987, the FINAL FANTASY® series has sold over 63 million units, making it one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time. FINAL FANTASY XII carries on the tradition of gaming innovation, fantastic graphics and epic storytelling. With a brand-new battle system bringing more realistic and seamless action to the player’s fingertips, this latest installment promises to take role-playing games to the next level through a beautiful and heart-stopping adventure.
The story of FINAL FANTASY XII takes place in a world called “Ivalice,” in an age when magic was commonplace and airships plied the skies, crowding out the heavens. War was on the horizon. Seeking to strengthen its base of power, the great Archadian Empire had been invading and subjugating its neighboring kingdoms one by one. The small Kingdom of Dalmasca was one such kingdom. Our story follows Vaan, a young man living on the streets of Dalmasca’s Royal City of Rabanastre, the Princess Ashe, the sole remaining heir to the Dalmascan throne who had been given up for missing, as well as Vaan’s friend Penelo, the sky pirate Balthier, Balthier’s partner Fran and many more on an adventure through Ivalice that traces the mysteries behind the Archadian Empire’s invasion.

With that Killzone sequel stuck somewhere in the PlayStation 3 pipeline, Sony and Guerilla have opted to keep the franchise alive with a PSP spin-off, releasing this week. Guerilla was not up to the task of proving FPSs could be done well on PSP, so Liberation is brought to us in third-person, which has proved more stable and successful on the platform. But releasing alongside Vice City Stories and a pair of Q Entertainment puzzlers could mean Liberation gets slept on.
Here are some mixed critiques:
IGN (90/100) opines Killzone's got "depth" and "accessibility," making it "one of the best games on [PSP]."
GameDaily (80/100) gives a clear-cut endorsement: "Killzone: Liberation is definitely worth buying."
Game Informer (73/100) applauds Guerilla for "actually trying to do some quality work on the PSP," but warns, "this game will kick your ass" because of awkward controls and difficulty balance.

Kingdom Hearts producer Tetsuya Nomura claims that Disney's already clamouring for Square Enix to do a third in the cross-over RPG series.
Speaking to Dengeki PlayStation in an interview partially translated by IGN, Nomura says Squenix has "already been approached by the Disney side saying that they want us to make it".
But whether that'll happen is something he can't predict at the moment, with the team's schedule full up with the likes of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. "We have various ideas, but we're not at the point where we can say [we'll do it]," Nomura admits, adding that the hectic schedule means "it's physically impossible at the present".
The Kingdom Hearts team is currently working on the Japanese "Final Mix" edition of the sequel, which recently came out in Europe and won critical acclaim in most quarters.

We've only had a few snippets on Clive Barker's Jericho since it was announced but, what with it being Halloween and all, Codemasters has decided to go all supernatural and release new media from the horror project. Check out the screenshots and trailer that we've uploaded to this page.
Jericho's a squad-based FPS that relates the story of Jericho Team, a seven-man strike force established to protect the government from paranormal threat. A melting pot of Rambo, the Pope and the arcane arts, each member of Jericho is a kick-ass, modern-day warrior additionally trained in the arts of exorcism, clairvoyance, alchemy and blood magic. According to the plot, the team is drawn into a fight against ancient evil which has crossed through a dimensional rift and is threatening Earth.
Clive Barker's Jericho is due in late 2007 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sony intended to have 100,000 PS3 units available in Japan for the launch on November 11, but the figure has now dropped to 80,000
Component shortages have caused the number of consoles available at launch to drop by 20-percent in Japan.
According to a report from the Nikkei Keizai Shimbun (Japanese, business-focussed publication), the 20-percent drop has been blamed on component shortages.
Here in Old Blighty we're already great pals with component shortages. You'll recall that Sony 'blamed' the hold up of PS3's release on these shores on a delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode - part of the Blu-ray drive.

"We'll be pushing the 25GB threshold very quickly, and I expect this time next year we will see games that are justifying 50GB," says Phil Harrison
In an interview with Edge magazine, head of Sony Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison, says that the huge data consumption of PS3 games will require the storage space afforded by Blu-ray discs.
Sony's use of Blu-ray in PS3 places huge faith in the, as yet, un-established disc format. Universal Studios' withdrawal of Blu-ray support has raised concerns for the format's success, and the implications for the PS3 should it fail.
But Harrison shrugs off such a scenario, saying: "In the event that the movie advantage isn't clear - either because of the format itself not being widely adopted or some other reason - it actually doesn't matter, because we need the Blu-ray disc as developers."
Single-layer Blu-ray discs are able to store 25GB of data, with a dual-layer version planned later, which doubles the capacity to 50GB. This is way beyond the 8.5GB capacity of the DVDs used by Xbox 360.
It'll be interesting to see how much PS3 will games benefit, in actual gameplay terms, from this massive storage space.
