When the Eragon videogame releases next month it will feature the voices and likenesses of the stars from the upcoming movie on which it is based. Edward Speleers (who plays the title character Eragon), Sienna Guillory (Arya in Eragon, Jill Valentine in Resident Evil: Apocalypse), Garrett Hedlund (Murtagh in Eragon, Don Billingsley in Friday Night Lights), and Robert Carlyle (Durza in Eragon, Gaz in The Full Monty) will all be making the transition from film to binary code.
In the game, players will control Eragon and, atop his trusty dragon Saphira, ride into epic battles against an evil king's sinister forces. Eragon can overpower foes with some slick combos, utilize magic attacks, and can call in Brom or Murtagh at any point to give him a hand.
The Eragon videogame will ship November 14 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advance, PSP, Nintendo DS, mobile, and PC, followed by the feature film on December 15.

hi guys, i made a new joystick attachment for my psp, this ones called psp pimped joystick.
Its alot sleeker than the ghetto joystick, and as the analogue controller is taken from a third party joystick the control is not quite as smooth, it still beats the hell out of the thumb nub.
Basically this is just to let people see the progression and scope of this mod, im still working on steering wheel ideas and will let you know as soon as i get something figured out.
heres a link to the video i have posted on youtube of this new mod:

Insomniac197 has released a new 3D Tiff Demo, heres the info:
Decided to mess with the TIFF SDK this morning.
Made a small sample just to prove that 3D is possible using the TIFF SDK.
Controls:
RIGHT TRIGGER - Zoom In
LEFT TRIGGER - Zoom Out
HOME - Exit
Might make a simple 3D game if I get bored this week

Some of our pals at other PSP sites today have for want of a better work analysed and in my opinion got it wrong about where the GPS, Camera and the PSOne emulator for the PSP are.
Yes September/October was the original dates but from what i can see with the announcement of downloadable games including the likes of PSone games via the PS3 that its all being launched within a 2 week window.
The tiff exploit i would think will be patched although knowing Sony not hard enough to stop homebrew, funny but are they really anti homebrew ?
They do enough to satisfy game companies but not too much to kill it off for good ?
But anyway lets see if im right.
Anyone got a view on my post above or their own opinion, then post via comments.

Konami will be following up on last year's well-received Gradius Collection (Gradius Portable in Japan) with three new shooter bundles for the Japanese market. The latest issue of Famitsu contains first details on Salamander Portable, Parodius Portable and Twinbee Portable for the PSP.
Each collection includes five titles, one of which is being kept secret. Here's what's been announced so far.
Salamander Portable
Salamander (1986)
Life Force (1987)
Xexex (1991)
Salamander 2 (1996)
Parodius Portable
Parodius da! (1990)
Gokujou Parodius: Kakou no Eikou wo Momomete (1994)
Sexy Parodius (1996)
Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius - forever with me - (1996)
Twinbee Portable
Twinbee (1985)
Detana Twinbee (1991)
Twinbee Yahho! Fushigi no Kuni de Ooabare!! (1995)
Pop'n Twinbee (1996)
Details on the bonuses planned for the titles have only partially come to light. Famitsu confirms that Salamander will offer original and wide modes of play. Parodius will offer a galery mode which allows you to enjoy the classic sounds of the series. It's possible that these modes will be available across all three titles.
Famitsu also confirms that Twinbee will allow you to hold the PSP in a rarely used vertical mode in order to mimic the long aspect ratio of the original arcade machine.
All three collections will be released to Japan in January, carrying a 3980 yen price point. US versions have yet to be announced.

Electronic Arts has announced that the next Def Jam game will be called Def Jam: Icon, and it's due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next March in the US and Europe.
Handled by EA Chicago, the chaps who most recently brought us excellent next-gen fighting game Fight Night Round 3, Icon will continue to fuse hip-hop music, culture and lifestyle into its beat-'em-up gameplay, and judging by comments from executive producer Kudo Tsunoda, the power of PS3 and 360 make a bit of a difference here in several ways.
For a start, he says, EA Chicago is "completely innovating the role of the environments in the games, moving from the typical lifeless arenas the hip-hop celebrities are fighting in to environments that play an instrumental part in the fight where they will react to the music and interact with both characters like a third fighter."
EA also talks about reworked controls that offer players better feedback, and of course you'll be able to assume the role of celebs like Ludacris, T.I. and Big Boi.
Watch out for more on Def Jam: Icon nearer release.

An enterprising young person by the name of Elder on PS3forums.com seems to have got his hands on a lot of the press bumf due to emerge at Sony's US Gamers Day event later this week - most notably giving us a better idea of what's likely to be released through the PlayStation 3's e-Distribution service.
Games listed as first party (with screenshots, some preserved on other forums) include Blast Factor, a 1080p shoot-'em-up with self-adjusting difficulty and global rankings, which uses the tilt function of the SIXAXIS controller to help push enemies around the play area and is reportedly in development at Bluepoint Games.
Others on the list are flOw, which was shown off at the Tokyo Game Show (catch up with our impressions elsewhere), Go Sudoku (complete with multiplayer mode), something called Swizzleblocks, Lemmings 2 (apparently a new game and not a port) and one called Criminal Crackdown. Sony hasn't released any previous details on these games, or confirmed anything on the list beyond flOw, we might add, but adding to the veracity of Elder's post were a number of new assets for existing PS3 games like Untold Legends and Full Auto 2.
Third-party e-Distribution games mentioned, meanwhile, included what sound like PlayStation Portable ports - GripShift (an unappreciated little PSP title we rather liked) and "Crash Carnage Ciaos". On the latter, most assumed the last word was a typo for "Chaos" but it also seems possible that the whole thing is a slight twist on Sony Online Entertainment's "Cash Money Chaos". Either way, we'll find out whether those are legit, along with the final, Wheel of Fortune game also mentioned, when Sony's Gamers Day concludes tomorrow...

Developed by Rockstar Leeds with a little help from Rockstar Toronto, The Warriors will be similar to the recently release PS2 version, though Gordon Hall, president of Rockstar Leeds, says, "The PSP system allows us to deliver the experience in an entirely different way, while staying very faithful to the original source material."
Just in case you don't know, The Warriors is based on the 1979 cult movie of the same name, set in 1970's New York City.
The PSP version is due to punch North America and Europe in the nuts this Christmas.

Bethesda's epic RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is loosening its PC and Xbox 360 girdle to accommodate Knights of the Nine, a new faction and new quests expansion that'll feature out-the-box in the forthcoming PS3 version of the game.
Knights of the Nine will be released on November 21. Punters will be able to download it for PC via OblivionDownloads.com and for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Marketplace. Pricing details have yet to be confirmed.
Elaborating on the brand new material, Bethesda explains, "Knights of the Nine features an all-new faction and quests for noble characters and answers many of the questions surrounding the Ayleid ruins found throughout Oblivion.
Players can join a new faction and found their own order of holy knights - leading them into battle against a sorcerer-king and his demonic minions while exploring massive dungeons and searching for legendary relics - the holy armor and weapons of the Divine Crusader."
In addition, a boxed retail version of Knights of the Nine is releasing on November 21 for PC - to be co-published by Ubisoft in Europe. The boxed version contains the new faction and quest material along with currently available Oblivion content Horse Armor, The Orrery, Wizard's Tower, Vile Lair, Thieves Den, Mehrunes' Razor, and Spell Tomes. Again, pricing details for this are TBC.

Via Gamesindustry
Tony Blair has praised the games industry for making "significant strides" when it comes to games with violent content after being questioned over the latest Rockstar title to hit the headlines.
During Prime Minister's Question Time this afternoon, Labour MP Keith Vaz claimed that Canis Canem Edit - which was formerly titled Bully - contains "scenes of violence, including players terrorising teachers and students, teachers being headbutted, and the aggressive use of baseball bats".
After noting that high street retailer Currys has refused to stock the game, Vaz questioned: "Given the link between videogames and their propensity to encourage violence that has been demonstrated in some research, will the Prime Minister convene a meeting of the stakeholders, including the industry and parents' groups, to discuss this issue?"
He added: "And will he accept this is not about adult censorship, this is about protecting children?"
The Prime Minister opened his reply by praising Vaz for "his work in raising awareness of this issue", before admitting, "I haven't seen the game myself."
"But I know that the minister for creative industries and also the minister responsible for the industry are very happy to meet with him and stakeholders to discuss it," he continued.
"It's obviously an important issue. I know there's a lot of concern about it."
Concluding his answer, Blair stated, "It is, I think, right to say that the videogames industry, or certainly a very substantial section of it, have made significant strides and advances over the past few years.
"But he's quite right, it's important that's maintained."
Of course, this is not the first time a Rockstar game has caused controversy - or the first time Keith Vaz has criticised one of the publisher's titles. The MP for Leicester East also raised questions in the House of Commons after 2004 title Manhunt was linked to the murder of a British teenager, and earlier this year he called on the Government to ban Canis Canem Edit before its release.
The game went on sale in the US yesterday, where it still carries the name Bully, and will launch in the UK on October 27.

Heres an excerpt
When you play a video game, you'll always have to wait for the game to load. From the moment you turn on your PlayStation or Xbox, you'll wait. Sometimes you might wait a few seconds, other times you might change the channel and watch a little golf. You'll even fruitlessly mash buttons in attempt to make the loading screens go by faster. When the game finally finishes loading, you might get to play some of it, and then you'll see another loading screen. It makes you wonder, when developers claim that a game has 40 hours worth of gameplay in it - do they factor in the time you spend staring out into space?
Recently, the PSP caught some heat for its inordinately long load times. Some users even posted videos on the Internet describing their experiences. One game in particular drew lots of ire: WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006. The game takes multiple minutes to start a match, regardless of whether you want to use a custom play mode or simply want a quick match. Long load times aren't anything new; but when you combine them with portable devices, they're sure to press a few buttons (pun intended).
We're certain that most of the issues arise from the UMD media and the optical drive. The PSP has to spin up the drive, seek across the disc, and load the data. All of these actions require large amounts of time in comparison to Nintendo's cartridge based system.
In the interests of gaming science, we decided to find out how long it takes the PSP to move you from a dull glassy eyed stare to actively playing. We tried to test every game currently out for the PSP, but instead had to settle for all the games we could get our mitts on. In the end, we managed to include over 80 games in the article, which should make for a good representative batch. Our tests showed that very few games could load up in under a minute. Many games took two or even three minutes. One game took four minutes to load - WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006.

From Game Tex Japan comes the Flexible holder which has a stand for the PSP on one end and a suction cup on the other. The arm is around 17 cms long and can be turned a full 360 degrees. With the soon to be available GPS add on you can hook the PSP to your car's windshield and zip around town. There are tons of combinations of using the holder like sticking it to your bed to play MGS or watching a movie on the UMD and the craziest of all placing it next to the kitchen sink to catch a flick. You dont have to worry about the PSP falling down as the suction cup is very strong.
