The Nintendo of America Boss George Harrison has stated that the PS3 is failing because of the price point and low quality.
Nintendo has not been all that silent in regards to their intentions this next-generation now that they have a solid lead with both the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS leading hardware sales.
Harrison had an interview with the web site Wires and stated that the Sony SIXAXIS controller as well as Viva Pinata from Microsoft were attempts to try and steal some of the market which Nintend is now enjoying with their Wii remote control as well as Animal Crossing.
He stated bluntly that "Sony rushed out their Sixaxis controller as an effort to respond to the Wii remote."
It is no secret now that it has been reported, right here at PCN, that Nintendo plans to sell 35 million Wii consoles over the next four years and control 50% of the market.
"There’s a price point and there’s the quality that’s holding the PlayStation 3 back. They’re selling so many PlayStation 2s because people are saying, ’You know what? The graphics are pretty good, the price is good, and the library is good.’ So we have a great expectation this lifecycle’s actually going to last more than five years," Harrison stated.
Harrison concluded the consumers are more satisfied with the current technology, even though the PS3 has the capability to pump out some amazing visuals.

It's been long rumored that the PSP had hidden Flash2, & Flash3 memory areas.
Now PSP Dev Becus25 has proved there indeed is.
He has released a app that lets you access them on your Computer.
I have personally tested this, and it works.
Flash2 & Flash3 were empty when I looked inside them... I wonder what their purpose is ?
Anyway, here is the read me, and Toggle Flash2/3 app from becus25:
Toggle USB Flash 2/3 Special System For PSP
Here it is. With this you can acces via USB to the flash2 and 3 of your PSP.
Enjoy ! Also, you can access to MemoryStick
You can access to the drive on read/write files mode.
Copy the PSP folder to the root of your memory stick, then run the program.
Greetings.

Odin Sphere (North American version) is now available for the PS2. Brought to you by Atlus USA, this looks like a an RPG worth looking into. The PS2 is obviously still the best console for RPG games and continues to put out quality content. Many believed initially that the PS3 would be the end of the PS2, but this definitely has not been the case. The Sony PS2 is still a very viable system of choice and will continue to be so for a long time. This will certainly not go down in history as one of the great RPGs, but it will still hold it's own for a while. Stunning details and interesting characters with developed background stories are the bonus with this game. Frequent load times and slowdowns during gameplay have been cited by many as the negative aspects of the title. Please enjoy the trailer and further information after the break. Odin Sphere is rated "T" for teen.

The details for Grand Theft Auto IV continue to trickle out from a variety of sources, and the latest will set your imagination spinning.
Thanks to a recent preview in the Official Xbox Magazine, it appears player will have a new way of transporting...well, any number of things. Many avid followers of the game have seen the Admiral (GTA car model) getting broken into during a preview video, but a bit more of that video was uncovered by the magazine: apparently, when behind the vehicle, an information prompt came up on the top left side of the screen, telling the player to press "LB" (left bumper on the 360 controller). This button will probably be the L1 controller on the PS3's Sixaxis. When you press the button, you pop the trunk.
Yup, the trunk. Perhaps you could store weapons and ammunition in any vehicle you take, or maybe you could even hide bodies! They've been talking about making this particular GTA installment much more realistic, so perhaps authorities could find bodies and then spring into action. Maybe hiding your tracks is more important this time around, and a trunk would be perfect in that capacity.
We'll let you know when we hear more about this feature, and how Rockstar plans to implement it. But isn't your imagination spinning right now? See, we told you.

Chuck Norris Facts Generator!
Homework Excuse Generator! <-- Thanks to Buddy4point0 for the idea
Of course it still has the Engrish Generator built in and you can choose which category you would like to view within the app.
Here's the change log from the readme.txt:
v 0.3
@9. Added initial Chuck Norris Facts
@10. Added initial Homework Excuses
@11. Added a menu for choosing between Engrish, Chuck Norris Facts, and Homework Excuses.

Here's some sample sentences:

Chuck Norris once karate-chopped himself in the teeth. It was so godlike!
My homework was eaten by a mouse!
My homework fell into a large chasm and I couldn't get it back!

pspballer07 has updated the RPG release from a few days ago, heres the release info:
Here is my third version of my RPG game and here is what I added since v0.02.
****All data except maps are stored in one file called data.pk3. I used the quake II pack file format for this.
****Added intro and menu(will be enhanced a lot whenever I get some gfx artists)(Yes I know that the crappy graphics are made on mspaint and that's why I need gfx artists!)
NOTE TO ALL: I know about the problem choosing menu items becuase the highlighter is going a little too fast which is fixed now but I don't wanna take the time to upload it until I have more done on the game.

SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that CRUSH™, an inventive new puzzle game created exclusively for the PSP, has shipped to retailers worldwide. CRUSH introduces an exciting new approach to gaming that challenges how players traditionally look at puzzle solving. With its intriguing style of thought-provoking gameplay this addicting title presents a whole new concept in multi-dimensional puzzle gameplay that blends 2D and 3D graphics in an enticingly surreal environment.
Set within a complex and hypnotic 3D world, players will use the game’s unique crushing mechanic to “crush” the environment and transform it into a more simplified 2D platformer. Once flattened, players will utilize the 2D space to move to new areas in order to solve otherwise impossible challenges, and unlock secret items that were previously unobtainable in the 3D environment. Players will then “uncrush” the 2D environment and return to the 3D world.
Designed for a wide and varied audience, CRUSH tells the story of Danny, a young man with a lifetime of unresolved issues and bottled up emotions that have turned him into a nervous insomniac. Desperate for a cure, he turns to Dr. Rubins for an inventive new treatment. It is during this state that he is given one last chance to sort through the wreckage of his past, before he loses the last thing he has left – his sanity.
CRUSH is developed by U.K. based Zo Mode, and introduces a unique new gaming experience that is wholly suited to the PSP system. The game is rated “E10+” (Everyone 10 and older) by the Entertainment Software Review Board, and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $29.95.

A small update from StrmnNrmn's blog.
It's been a couple of weeks since the last update. As people tend to get a bit nervous when I don't update regularly, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm ok and still thinking about getting R12 ready
I'm still in the middle of looking at fixing the various dynarec bugs which are keeping Super Smash Bros from working with Dynarec enabled. I've not made as much progress as I would have liked since the last post, as I've been very busy with work and various other commitments. Hopefully I should get a bit more time to work on R12 from the end of this week. I'll post an update as soon as I have more news to report on.
-StrmnNrmn
Take your time, StrmnNrmn. We're rooting for you.

Remember the classic “magic screen” toy? I think you all know what I’m talking about; doodle with the vertical & horizontal knobs, get pissed while trying to draw a smoothly curved line, violently shake the screen, and start all over again. That’s right — the Etch-A-Sketch — now on your PSP courtesy of developer webfeind.
Buttons assignments:
D-Pad Up -> Move cursor up
D-Pad Down -> Move cursor down
D-Pad Left -> Move cursor left
D-Pad Right -> Move Cursor Right
Analog U-D-L-R all work like the D-Pad just that there are 2 speeds of movement based on how far from center you travel.I.E.
|< --Fast Left---|<--Slow Left--|-Center-|--Slow Right-->| …
Start -> reset canvas
Select -> save to ms0:/psp/photo/Sketch.png
Cross -> Speed high
Circle -> Speed low

One of the most recurrent industry rumours of the past few month is that Sony is readying the launch of a new, redesigned PSP. While we've already had a go at anticipating the areas Sony could be improving for a PSP 2, we're being led to believe that the updated handheld will in fact be more of a 1.5.
In fact, if we're correct, the key thing to change doesn't involve faster load times, a better screen, new analogue sticks, improved buttons or even built-in flash memory, but, rather mundanely, a slimmer casing.
Like us, you're probably wondering how Sony can make the PSP much thinner than it already is, but look what it did to the PS2. Their tech-wizards managed to cram all the chips into a casing that was a fraction of the weight and size of the original - and add a built-in Ethernet slot.
The PSP redesign might necessitate the need for a flash drive and reconsidered button placement of course, and there's always the possibility of building in add-ons like the camera attachment (released in the UK last week) and the GPS device we're promised later in the year. In fact, it's possible Sony has decided to wait to integrate this function into the new PSP rather than as an add-on. After all, even the Gizmondo managed that.
Given the Slimline PSP will still use the UMD, it's going to have to be slightly thicker than 4mm but that allows for similar dimensions to the 30 Gb video iPod's 11mm. Which is pretty sexy compared to the old PSP's bulbous 22mm. Look forward to a press release to confirm this in the near future or we'll eat our PSPs.

Make a Japanese PSN account. Now. If you haven't, you're going to continue missing out on all the free demos the Japanese gamer crowd get. It's not tough -- sign up for one in your own language, make notes about what information goes on each page, then make a Japanese one. Why are we insisting you do this? So you can test drive FolksSoul along with us this Friday when a demo hits the Japanese PlsyStation Store.
Also known as Folklore in the US, the game had kept a very low key until Gamer's Day, when a new trailer and multiple screens made an entrance and blew a lot of people away. Sure, it's absolutely a Japanese game -- lacking muscular men with big shiny guns, but it does look incredibly fun to play. So that's why we're telling you about the demo. It's rumored to be over an entire gigabyte, so make sure you've got something else to do. Try it out, then decide if it's for you or not!

If you lived through the early part of the millennium and you saw a Syphon Filter game in the "Coming Soon" list on EBgames.com, your brain would be forgiven for skipping over it. "Oh no, we don't care about those games any more, let's move along," your brain might say. But you may have to revamp your policy for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, which is apparently making the jump to PS2 from PSP.
Listen, no one's going to blame your if you don't want to get burned again. But sometimes, that's what love is: Falling off of the filter that's also a syphon, and climbing right back on. Plus, it's only $30! Listen, you've got until Sept. 4, just promise us you'll think about it. That's all we ask.

Although opinions tend to be a bit divided, Blast Factor is still one of the better PSN titles currently available. For me, it seemed like a bit of cheap alternative to Xbox Live Arcade's flagship Geometry Wars, but the arrival of the multiplayer expansion did go a long way towards remedying that problem. Even so, avid Blast Factor players must be looking for a fresh challenge by now, so it’s good to hear that there’s a new expansion pack heading our way.
The expansion, entitled Advanced Research, will introduce a load of new enemies and a selection of new levels with ‘abnormal’ shapes - sounds intriguing. Basically, it's just expect a bit of fresh eye-candy and some tougher challenges to work through – could be great for co-op multiplayer though. Unfortunately there’s no indication of price or release date yet. Via PSU

Downloadable content – that’s definitely something still more commonly associated with Xbox 360 titles; clearly Sony has to put its plan for a lot more content on the PlayStation Network into action and start catching up with its rival, Microsoft. Unsurprisingly, launch title MotorStorm is the first game to get Sony’s DLC debut with an update that goes a bit beyond a simple patch. From June you’ll be able to download a new content pack called Coyote Weekend.
Coyote Weekend will contain three brand spanking new groups of races, an ‘altered’ (so not new then?) version of Coyote Rage map and a load of new car configurations for the existing tracks. More excitingly, there’ll be a new vehicle to play with – we’re not sure what kind though.
Prices aren’t certain yet, but in the mean time a free download will be unlocking a Time attack mode, some gameplay tweaks and leaderboard system on the 7th June. Via Eurogamer

The word 'free' makes any deal a good deal, so when EA throws two new courses for Burnout Dominator on the 'net for you to download for free, you really can't complain.
Carnival Point is one of the new courses, available to download now directly to your PSP memory card, with Red Gate to follow on June 7. Screens of the new courses are below.
You can grab the wares through the menu screens of the game (while in range of a wireless internet connection) or take your PC browser to the official site (the UK site here, or the US one here) for a direct download there. Then you'll have to transfer the goods via USB cable.
EA leads the charge - now it's up to other publishers to give download content away for FREE, instead of charging ludicrous amounts for horse armour. Oblivion (360) fans will know what we mean.
