In case you hadn't noticed, the European PlayStation Store was updated with a handful of bits and bobs yesterday.
Among its biggest treats were new demos for the excellent SEGA Rally and not-so-good Folklore, as well as fresh content for MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Spider-Man 3.
MotorStorm fans will now be able to race a new truck and mud plugger around some dirty land in the Capitano & Varjack vehicle pack for GBP 1.49 (EUR 2.12); Ninja Gaiden Sigma owners will be able to master a series of challenges based around alacrity in the Speed Master pack for GBP 2.99 (EUR 4.27); and Spider-Man 3 fans will be treated to a new Goblin character in the functionally named Goblin pack for GBP 3.99 (EUR 5.69).
But if you want to sit back and relax, you can always take in new videos for InFamous, PES 2008 and Feel Ski, or just decorate your background with new Heavenly Sword and WarHawk wallpapers.
That's a little more content than the US Store was treated to, with Jericho and NBA 2K8 demos (the Jericho demo will be here next week), MotorStorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma content, plus a spattering of game trailers making up their arrangement.
Last week Sony released LocoRoco Cocoreccho in the PlayStation Store for a meagre GBP 1.99. We've just published our thoughts on it, which come in the form of a solid recommendation for one of the best PSN additions to date.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has told Eurogamer that Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction has been delayed - and won't now be released until November.
The game was originally supposed to be out on 23rd October in both the US and Europe, as announced recently.
But now a post on the PlayStation blog has revealed a new North American release date of 30th October, with the demo arriving on PlayStation Network "by October 11th" over there.
A Sony spokesperson told Eurogamer a specific date for the European release of R&C has yet to be confirmed. However, he did say it will hit the shops some time in "early November", with the demo due out in "mid-October".
According to SCEA's Greg Phillips "the extra wait will be worth it". He said Insomiac "has been hard at work squeezing every last detail, dance move and tool of destruction" into the game.
It certainly looked spanky when we got the chance to go hands-on earlier this month - check out the preview for more info.

Sony has revealed plans to pull Gran Turismo HD Concept from the Japanese Store, in preparation for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue next month.
This means PS3 owners in Japan have until Sunday to download GT HD, before seeing it disappear forever.
Sony Europe currently has nothing to announced regarding the future of the PSN game here, echoing silence in the US [echoing silence? - Ed].
Gran Turismo HD Concept was released alongside the PS3 here in March. It gives you a feel for what the full fifth instalment in the series will be like when it appears sometime in the future.
We had a great time with it, and thoroughly recommended it to anyone listening. We'd also recommend you get your hands on it while you still can. Better safe than sorry.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is yet to be dated for Europe, but we still carry a torch for the PSN version turning up here before Christmas and Blu-Ray offering to follow next year.
We'll keep you posted.

Sony has declined to comment on rumours that its recent FCC filing was for a new 40GB PS3.
The code number for this phantom model is listed on the official Federal Communications Commission as CECHG01. Detectives among you will realise this is not the same as the existing numbers for the 60GB (CECHA01) and 80GB (CECH01) units. How very cunning.
Hardware has to be legally checked over by the FCC before it can manufactured and sold in shops - it is a US legal requirement covering all sorts of bits and bobs that use the radio spectrum, including things like Wi-Fi.
However, the listing is far from confirmation that this is the 40GB PS3 model rumours pointed to earlier this week, which arose from a story on Sky's website that a Taiwanese company called FoxConn was making a new GBP 299 SKU.
And on closer inspection, the FCC listing unveils a subsidiary company of China-based AsusTek as the maker, the hand behind the current 80GB model.
It is a fishy conundrum, not unlike the sort of thing Sharky & George use to unravel. So speculate away.

Hi everybody,
When I created Boxy 2, Elementals (still in progress) and Raze (also still in progress) I sometimes came across some problems. These were related to all sorts of fields like music, graphics both 2D as 3D, fonts, just some optimizations etc. and well I saw that a lot of people were having the same problems. Since I have solved a lot of the general questions with a lot of help from the PSP programming Guru's, as I like to call them, I thought I should do something back to the community. I decided to put my knowledge into a series of tutorials. Please keep in mind that I am not a Guru! If you have any comments on the tutorials like, language improvements, code optimizations or other comments, please fill in the form at the bottom of the tutorial to let me know.
Enjoy the tutorials and I hope that they are helpfull.
At this moment there are only a few tutorials but over time the list of tutorials will expand greatly!
The 3D Psptutorials
Please do not copy the tutorials and use them as your own on your website. I have put quite some time in them and will in the future. If you want them on the site please link to them instead of copying them to your site. THANK YOU!
Greetings
Ghoti

Here is the thing we have all been waiting for (If like me you managed to brick a Slim, lol)
Hot off the press from m33/ D_A is the multi unbricker
Id like to take this oppourtunity to say thank you for all the hard work many people have put into this and for Mr Tutu Alek and Jas0nuk who have done the translation's, the one below is from Jas0nuk
Mike..
Installation:
- Skip this part if you already have a Pandora memory stick.
If not, format an MS using Pandora/C+D mspformat or any other tool
that allows the movement of the partition ~250kb from the first sector
- Cancel USB connection and remove the memory stick. Then re-insert
the memory stick and restart the USB connection.
- Make the PSP and PSP/GAME/ directories
- Copy "despertar_cementerio" to PSP/GAME/
- Download official updates 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71, and copy them to the memory stick root, renamed to 150.PBP, 340.PBP and 371.PBP
- Run the app under the 3.XX kernel (under a custom firmware, make sure the GAME folder is set to 3.XX kernel)
- Once finished, you'll be left with msipl.bin on the memory stick root.
- Skip this part if you already have a Pandora memory stick.
If not, use C+D msinst to install ipl on ms, or use the dd command in unix, or any
hex editor to write msipl.bin to sector 16 on the physical drive.
- Now you can delete 340.PBP and 150.PBP
371.PBP will be used for unbricking, so don't delete it.
- Now you have an universal Pandora memory stick ready to go, and you just need a proper battery.
If you have 1.50 kernel access, use the C+D tool. Otherwise, use cory1492's tool.
EITHER TOOL SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON FAT BATTERIES, AS THEY WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO SLIM&LITE BATTERIES.
- The service mode fat battery and memory stick will work on any PSP to date.
Unbricking:
(Note that you won't see the unbricking menu on the slim, due to the different display drivers, so follow the below instructions carefully)
- Press X to install 3.71 M33. On the slim (blind installation), you will see the orange LED flashing,
which means that 371.PBP is being written. When finished, the orange and green LEDs will flash,
to show that it worked. Finally, the PSP will automatically switch off.
- On the fat, once finished, press X to shutdown.
Power on manually, press O at the Blue Screen of Death, and you will be on 3.71 M33
- Press O to install original 3.71 (rest of the process is the same as the 3.71 M33 installation)
- Press [] to dump the NAND to ms0:/nand-dump.bin.
Make sure you have 33mb (fat)/66mb (slim) free on your memory stick to avoid corruption.
The PSP will shut down automatically when done.
- Press L+R+HOME+start to restore NAND from ms0:/nand-dump.bin
This process is very dangerous, and you should only use it as a last resort.
It is physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% clone of the dump.
If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.
If, your PSPs NAND has more damaged blocks than the dump being restored,
you may also end up with a brick.
Works for both PSP and PSP Slim.

Archilolo has posted a new version of his pong game for the PSP, heres whats new:
28.09.2007: version 0.5
Update which makes the play (finally) interesting… even when one only plays!
* addition of an artificial intelligence. That makes it possible to have three levels of difficulty. The “easy” level is… very easy (but I have a 4 year old niece who will be glad to gain). For the difficult level, on the other hand, it is hotter.
* Addition of a mode of play: the score. Opposite you, a racket which renvoit all. The goal? To hold the most exchanges possible!
* New finely, more ergonomic (fortunately!) that the old one.

News/release from Logikz:
Brought to you by LoGikz
From OneHitGamer.com
Thats Right, This program is called PSPrank - Hidden Menu.
REASON WHY: The reason why I built this program is because I would downgrade so many peoples psp's that 3 people would come to me every week say "Fix my psp" and everytime its they were messing with something they didn't check out first.I've gotten many suggestions from Onehitgamer.com Forum members and I think that This is a solid first release for this program. This is program is ment to trick people into thinking they have messed up there psp, which in fact they havn't, all because I want to teach people that they need to start researching stuff and learning about the psp community before they seriously mess there psp up.
WHAT THE PROGRAM DOES: This program in named Hidden Menu in the game menu, Of course to bring curiosity to the subject. When they run the program they will be greeted with a Disclaimer Message To "Press X to continue or Press R to Exit" (R doesn't Exit, It still goes on,Same As if you hit X). Then a loading screen will come up for a second and then they shall be greeted by An ERROR screen with a bunch of hex coding (just to mainly confuse them), [after half a second] then It will go directly to a searching for errors screen in which they will see "!!! ERROR !!!" next to a bunch of Flash0 Files. Then go to a R.S.O.D (Red Screen Of Death) for about 2 seconds (just to let them read it lol) then the screen will suddenly go black for 3 seconds.
Now that they think there psp is totally messed up, the PRANKED screen shall come up and tell them "To research items before trying stuff or else this could really happen" with your name and a personalized message from you.
THE COOL PART: With this package I'v included a Program that you run before you put the 2 PSPrank folders on your psp. This program will ask for your Name and a Personalized message from you that will come up at the Pranked Screen.
I would LOVE new ideas and suggestions for this. I plan on making many different versions of PSPrank. So ENJOY!

Last month at the Leipzig Games Convention, Harmonix and MTV Games' European publicist announced that Rock Band was coming to the PlayStation 2. However, no mention was made of a US release for the PS2 edition of the previously Xbox 360- and PlayStation 3-only rhythm game, which will arrive on both sides of the Atlantic later this year.
Today, though, US Harmonix reps confirmed North American PS2s will be able to jam with Rock Band. More importantly, the game will ship before the end of the year, putting it in further competition with rival Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Now, the Wii will be the sole console where the latter instrument-based rock-rhythm game is unchallenged when it ships at the end of October.
The PS2 Rock Band is a scaled-down version of its next-gen brethren, and will not have the iTunes-like functionality to download new music. It will, however, have a single-player career mode. So far, more than 10 songs have been announced for the PS2 version, including the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter," the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," and "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" by the Clash. GameSpot's previous coverage has more details on the game.

Weltall has informed me of a RemoteJoy and Screenshot prx to 3.71 M33. Here is what he said:
I'm really annoyed of bad remotejoy build made with wrong switches which requires psplink to be run (while this isn't necessary) and also of the various user mode screenshoot plugins.
so i took the change to rebuild remotejoy in the proper way and to work in the 3.71 kernel and also a proper build of the screenshoot_bmp plugin originally made by nekokabu which works in !! KERNEL !! and not USER (something AWFULL FOR PLUGINS!!! it will messup a lot of things even if it works. PLUGINS MUST BE KERNEL AND THAT'S ALL!!!) so it doesn't mess up with your cheats and all games should work without "can't start game" errors. plus w00t no lines >_>.
also this is for 3.71 kernel
oh as of commands. for remotejoy just load usbhostfs and then remotejoy and then connect whathever you want and you will get the picture everywere you loaded it. ah and as of drivers no one needs to make them compatible with vista or xp and the psp they are part of the libusb project so just get on their page (the one of the windows port) and get it.
as for screenshot_bmp it uses note (w00t XD) and will save on PICTURE and make the folder if missing
usbhostfs didn't require any work as it's compatible with 3.71 kernel as is (sony didn't change things there)
I have personally tested these myself in VSH mode, GAME mode and even recovery - it works fine.

News/release from Hellcat
Preface?
----------
NEVER, NEVER EVER, NEEEEVER USE THIS TO CONVERT A SLIM BATTERY TO PANDORA!
YOU WILL KILL YOUR BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
It runns on the Slim, YES, but: ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
OK?
Now What?
-----------
The original Pandora-Tools are dependant on 1.50, if you are on 3.71-M33
or the Slim you're out of luck - the don't run.
But fear no more ;-)
This is an installer app for a base Pandora setup.
It runns under *ANY* currently known kernel (that is 1.50 to 3.71) and
gives you three options:
1) Make normal battery to Pandora one
2) Make Pandora battery to normal one
3) Install a full 1.50 to the memstick, including the Pandora
And yes, it does run on 3.71 - I tested it myself ;-)
How?
------
To use the installer, first you need the 1.50 updater EBOOT named
as "UPDATE.PBP" in the root folder of your memorystick.
As a regular Pandora user you'll have that already, if not: copy it!
Now copy the "pan3xx" folder from this archive to
/PSP/GAME/ on your memorystick - and run it!
Done
Cool?
-------
Yes!
Since this installer installs a full 1.50, and not only a subset like
the original installer, you're only one tiny file edit away from
booting a full 1.50 from your memstick to run additional tools or
installers from there before/instead of directly flashing your PSP.
At this point, let me suggest to install the "Extended Pandora Menu" ;-D

Archilolo has posted a new version of his pong game for the PSP, heres whats new:
27.09.2007: version 0.4
It is about an update if not major, at least important!
* addition of beautiful finely.
* addition of two musics (it is me which plays piano behind)
* addition of a new fashion of play: double racket, where… two rackets are directed
* new bottom of screen (but you start to have the practice); and sprites of the rackets drawn from a play worship.
* addition of a logo
* much of optimizations, code changed without result visible with the screen; how it is ungrateful!

News/release from Samhain;694755:
This is how I've downgraded my FAT PSP with CF 3.71M33 to 1.50 Original FW:
* Copy the entire content of the attached file to PSP\GAME folder.
* Rename Original FW 1.50 file to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder.
* In the Game menu launch "Update to X.Y.Z."
* Follow the onscreen instruction and it's done in a while.
I got a FAT PSP with motherboard prior to TA082. I've no responsibility if you damage your PSP with the above procedure.
