All things being well in the world of PlayStation Store, you should now be able to download a demo of the PS3 version of Midway's Woo-'em-up Stranglehold.
In Stranglehold, in case you didn't know, you step into the shoes of Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila and shoot shit up while doing lots of slow-mo diving. And shooting. And diving. And shooting. And divi...
Midway says the demo "will allow players to get a taste of the intense, non-stop action, cinematic gunplay and massively destructible environments that their itchy trigger fingers have been waiting for."

The crazy rolling world of Beautiful Katamari is heading to PS3 and Wii, it appears.
Bandai Namco's website now lists both platforms as being on the Beautiful Katamari roll call, although neither version has a release date - they're both down as "TBD".
And in related news, the site's also listing Xbox 360 RPG Eternal Sonata as destined for PS3 now too. Again, a release date for the PS3 version is down as "TBD".

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will be released on 20th November in the US and is still down for release this Christmas in Europe.
That's according to game director Amy Hennig, addressing the world (well, Ellie) earlier today in Croatia, and confirms the date carried by US retailers.
Uncharted, which is developed by the Jak & Daxter scribes at Naughty Dog, puts players on the path of the fabled treasure of El Dorado, and is seen as one of Sony's key PS3 exclusives in the run-up to Christmas.
Hennig also told journalists that the game is "about a week" away from going beta internally, which bodes well for its prospect of getting out the door in two months' time.

Epic's Mark Rein has clarified rumours regarding Unreal Tournament 3's release date on PlayStation 3.
"The PS3 console exclusivity is not in doubt. We are shipping the game on the PS3 well before the Xbox 360 version ships," Rein told GamesIndustry.biz "That's the version we are working on right now. We do not have a date for the Xbox 360 version."
"Nothing has changed at this point," Rein said. "We're working toward a November release."
Addressing forum comments which were reported on earlier, Rein said the point was "not to cast doubt on our plans but rather to debunk the countdown timer on a German fan site that listed a specific release date."
"We don't know the specific release date yet and I think it is always prudent to remind our fans that we value quality over release date. They've come to expect that from UT and we don't want them to think we're handling UT3 any differently."
Last week, Midway invited the consumer press to play UT3 multiplayer on PS3 at a New York event, and Rein reports that thousands of gamers played the game on two 16-player PC LANs at Leipzig. Rein said that he will also be at the Tokyo Game Show to demonstrate UT3 at a Sony press reception.

Sweden and Iceland are leading the uptake of online services for the PlayStation 3 in Europe, with eight out of ten PS3 consumers signing up for Sony's service, according to data from Dataspelsbranschen.
At Game Convention in Germany last month, David Reeves said that the average uptake of the PlayStation Network was just under 5 out of every 10 users, with 645,000 of the 1.3 million consoles sold in Europe registered for the service.
And according to Nordisk Film Interactive, the official distributor of PlayStation products in the Nordic region, sales of the console have been "incredible" since the recent introduction of Starter Pack bundles.
"Since we launched the Starter pack with a PlayStation 3, two games and two controllers in the middle of June the sales have been incredible," offered Jens Alex, MD of Nordisk Film.
"Another force is online which Sony has been criticised for, but we managed to overcome the expectations. Sweden has the highest number of PlayStation 3's online in Europe in comparison to the size of the country," he said.
Dataspelsbranschen has also revealed software sales figures for Sweden for the first six months of the year, showing that the PC is still the most popular platform, with 1.3 million games sold accounting for EUR 21.1 million.
The PlayStation 2 is still the most popular console, generating EUR 18.2 million in software sales for the first six months of 2007, or 530,819 units.
Software for Microsoft's Xbox 360 is still selling strong in the region, with 146,273 units generating sales of EUR 6.2 million.
PlayStation 3 software has sold just over 93,000 units or EUR 5.4 million, while Wii titles have moved over 82,000 units or EUR 4.1 million.
In the battle of the handhelds, 173,103 games have been sold for the Nintendo DS, generating EUR 5.7 million, and 76,113 titles have been sold for the PSP, making EUR 1.5 million.
Total software sales on all formats in Sweden during the first six months reached EUR 64.3 million, with the market expected to grow 20 per cent during 2007.

I have installed the 3.60 M33 on my slim yesterday, and figured I'd make a nice video showing off the homebrew it is capable of playing (a lot of stuff). A lot of people are thinking that many programs are no longer compatible, but most that I've seen people mentioning ARE compatible, so have a looksie at my compatibility thread:

Wedbush expects Rockstar title to generate $400m in full-price sales
While Take Two has remained quiet on the release of exclusive episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter believes it won't appear on the Xbox 360 until at least the fourth quarter of 2008.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV were originally due for release this October, with chief financial officer Laine Goldstein previously revealing that the first of two exclusive packages for Microsoft would follow in March next year.
However, since the release of the highly-anticipated crime sim was pushed back until at least April 2008, any release date for the downloadable episodes – which Microsoft reportedly paid USD 25 million each for – has been up in the air.
"We note that the USD 50 million deferred revenue for GTA episodic content was reclassified as 'long term,' implying a release date no earlier than Q4 2008," commented Pachter in a note to investors following publisher Take Two's latest financial results.
Wedbush Morgan predicts that Grand Theft Auto IV will sell around 8 million units at full-price, generating revenues of USD 400 million. And despite the the fact that future titles in the series could sell even more units, the analyst remain sceptical of the franchises profitability.
"We do believe that the GTA franchise has a great deal of potential, and think that future versions will sell more than the 8 million units we expect from GTA IV.
"However, we remain sceptical that future versions will be as profitable as past versions, as the Rockstar team has apparently taken its studio name to heart," commented Pachter.

*WALLPAPER TOOL-
You may notice the PSP XMB allows you to save any picture as your PSP wallpaper. You may also notice that when you do this, your XMB Wave is no longer visible.
Wallpaper Tool allows you to make your XMB waves visible again after setting a pic as wallpaper. There are some stipulations you must follow, if you don't want your xmb icons corrupted (white boxes around them)
- you must dummy all glow/shadows in your topmenu, with clean blanks.
- You MUST NOT over load the PSP's ram. So too much customizing (click sounds volume bar ect)at the same as high res bg. So after you set your high res wallpaper with Wallpaper tool, do your other mods one at a time, too see how much customizing you can get away with, with out overloading RAM. (which corrupts your icons)
***************************
*** ADDITIONAL NOTES ******
***************************
- In support of Team M33, & Team Wildcard; I ask that this software not be hosted by criminal websites such as PS3****.com
- Setting up all the previews ect... can be a time consuming job. If you don't understand how to set up Wardrobe,
or are just too lazy to do so - you can download a Fully Set Up version from my homepage:
http://pspplayground.condor.serverpr...sg7688#msg7688
- The Version Spoofing function, features Spoofs that I made myself with a hex editor. Please do not contact me
requesting me to add a "3.52 OE" spoof. That is disrespectful to Team M33. And I would never promote it...
PLEASE READ THE READ ME, FOR ADDITIONAL NOTES & INSTRUCTIONS

for any firmware above 1.5 including 3.52 M33
'like a soundboard but twisty'
basicallt it has 8 homer quotes, you select the quote you want and press x, this is basically the beta and if people like it i will add more sounds to it and a menu and broaden the variety, at the moment the code is a bit untidy so you have to wait until your memory stick indicator is flashing before you can go down to the next quote(this only happens after playing a sound, anyway so heres a screen shot(actual photo)
and heres the download

Here's a small update to my fart machine. Eboot was made by Buddy4point0 (thanks man!).
The only major difference to the program is a new animated background. People have told me that animation in LUA was impossible... And while that's true in the long run, some simple animations are very doable.
For some reason, I'm only able to load around 500KB of pictures, while I can load 2+MB of fart sounds. So that's holding me back.
I haven't been able to add a script to display a smaller image fullscreen either... When I can, I'll be able to use more frames.
Credit goes to Buddy4point0 for the eboot, as well as alot of help understand in language. Thanks again!
Things to do:
-Add more sounds and fix the control scheme still
-Find a way to add more animation frames to make it smoother
-Possibly add a boot up animation and sound
-Maybe a menu to load even more farts

September 10th, 2007, 22:53 Posted By: BelmontSlayer
Team M33 have released a new firmware that opens up the PSP Slim to the world of homebrew , heres the full english details.
We are proud to present the first custom firmware for the PSP Slim, and the first custom firmware
that runs using a 3.XX IPL (3.60)
3.60 M33 for PSP Slim has all the features of 3.52 M33, except the 1.50 kernel support, as
that kernel doesn't work properly on psp slim (hardware problems, screen problems).
3.60 M33 will load homebrew from GAME, GAME150 and GAME360 directories, but all will be executed
with 3.60 kernel.
This mean that some homebrews done specifically for the 1.50 kernel cannot work on 3.60 M33.
However, the adaptation of code to 2.XX+ kernels is not difficult, and homebrew developers can
port their applications to work in these firmwares.
Included with the release is the M33 sdk for programmers.
Installation:
The installation is done using pandora battery and requires a fat psp with 1.50 or
custom firmware with 1.50 support to run a installer.
However once the memory stick installation is done, you can use it in whatever psp slim without
repeating the process again.
We want to thank C+D Team for having created Pandora and having opened the path to custom ipl's,
without which this cfw wouldn't exist.
Steps:
- Create a pandora battery and a pandora memory stick using the C+D team tools.
- Run the fat psp with the pandora memory stick inserted, but with a normal battery.
Copy the directories pandora_slim and pandora_slim% to PSP/GAME or PSP/GAME150.
- Download official sony firmwares 3.40 and 3.50, and put them in pandora_slim directory
with names 340.PBP and 350.PBP.
To avoid confusion: These firmwares are used ONLY to extend the memory stick pandora kernel.
NOTHING FROM THOSE FIRMWARES WILL EVER BE FLASHED ON THE SLIM.
- Run the program. It will quickly extract some prx's overwriting some of the pandora memory stick.
- Insert the pandora battery and the memory stick in the psp slim. It will boot. You won't see
anything on the screen, because that kernel doesn't support the slim screen, but it is OK, you
don't need a screen for the installation of 3.60 M33.
From here, you have 3 options:
- Press X to install M33. The process will last just few seconds, since the installer only
needs to install the M33 custom prx's and IPL. After the process is finished, the installer
will shutdown the psp automatically.
- Press L+R+triangle to uninstall M33 and go back to original 3.60. Note: this can't unbrick a
psp slim, it will just remove M33 ipl. There is currently no unbricker for the psp slim, but
we plan on doing one in the future.
After uninstallation, psp will be shutdown automatically.
- Press square to dump the PSP Slim nand. Watch out: you need 66 MB of free space in the
memory stick for this, otherwise your memory stick may end corrupted.
This option uses the team C+D nand dumper. When the memory stick orange led stops blinking,
the process will have finished, and you can either shutdown the psp, or use one of the two
previous options.
F.A.Q
Q: My homebrew doesn't work.
A: As stated above, not all homebrews work due to 1.50 kernel missing.
Wait for the programmer of that homebrew to port it to new kernels.
Q: How can i unbrick the PSP Slim?
A: If you have a semi-brick, you can restore it using recovery and flashing the corrupted files
with usb flash. There is no real unbricker for PSP Slim yet, but we plan of doing one in the
future using C+D Pandora Battery.
Q: Is M33 gonna make a 3.60 cfw for the fat psp's?
A: The firmware as it is flashed in the slim psp's is only for psp slims. Whenever sony releases
an updater, we'll support both, fat and slim psp's, but we are not gonna make a custom firmware
using 3.60 slim dump, because it is not done for the fat psp. Stop listening stupid rumors of kids:
we are 103% sure that Sony will continue releasing firmware updates for all psp's.
Moreover, the 3.60 firmware was done before 3.52: the pops, for example, is a clone of the one of 3.50/3.51
So it has nothing new for fat psp's.
Q: I liked the FW, what can I do to help M33?
A: You can contribute some money for all our members to get PSP Slims. Our paypal address is m-33@yandex.ru

A PS2 died for this pen to be born. That's really all we know about these pens that are "made from recycled Playstation 2 plastic." Apparently from China, we're not so certain we believe that the pens are constructed from actual PS2 plastic. We're talking about a place that practically invented the knockoff—a place where you could probably find your own clone made from day-old KFC if you looked hard enough.
So yeah. Even though this pen is real, there's almost no way it's actually "real." Or should I switch those quotes around?
