Analysts at the wholesale investment bank upgraded Sony’s rating on Monday, engadget reports, noting that the platform holder will from August no longer be making a loss on each system sold. The website says that profit-making PS3s would likely feature sub-65nm cell processors, sub-90nm RSX graphics chips, or both, since the smaller chips are cheaper to manufacturer.

Last week we reported that a PS3 remake of the first PS2 Forbidden Siren survival horror game was on the way, and we've now got the first trailer from what's called Siren: New Translation.
And judging by the trailer, it's going to be spooky as hell.
Sony's survival horror series tells the story of several characters trapped in an old Japanese village over the course of three days. Inevitably, zombies turn up.
Siren: New Translation's expected to launch in Japan in July, but there's no word yet on any European release plans. Bet your boots it's coming though...

Rockstar co-founder and creative VP Dan Houser has said that he hopes players will get the same feeling with GTA IV as they did when they played Grand Theft Auto III for the first time.
"What we wanted was the feeling when you saw GTA III after GTA II", he said in an interview with Variety. "The feeling when [you] see IV compared to III, hopefully it's not difficult to see differences."
Houser also touched upon the need to protect the Grand Theft Auto license from exploitation, debunking any remaining rumours for a movie adaptation.
"The intellectual property is the main asset in the company. That's why 'GTA' is still relevant ten years later. We haven't put one out every year. We haven't fleeced it. And we haven't put it on 50 different formats.
"We're not per se against moving properties between different media but for GTA it just seems so perfect as a game. You lose a lot of what makes it what it is if you move it into being, say, a movie. It just never seemed interesting creatively."
Coincidently enough, it was Variety who reported last year that an Eminem-starring Grand Theft Auto movie was almost a done deal. Guess that wasn't so 'done' as they originally thought, then.

Konami has delayed the launch of the US Metal Gear Online Beta, originally slated to start on April 21.
The group behind Metal Gear Solid 4 apologised for the delay and explained they would be unable to cope with the number of players at the moment, due to unexpected demand.
The announcement made no mention of when the beta would start but said that would be decided on soon.
"Due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected," Konami explained in a statement.
"We will be deferring the start of the US public beta test until we are able to stabilise our server."
Metal Gear Online, a PS3 exclusive, is the first online title in the series and will be included with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The tactical team game will be set in the same environment as MGS4 and feature the same control system but will have additional downloadable maps and characters.

Sony has declined to comment over suggestions that PlayTV will be out on 31st July and cost GBP 60.
It was responding to a listing on retailer Amazon.co.uk, which has since retracted both the date and price for the telly-recording PS3 peripheral.
"We have yet to announce a release date and price for PlayTV, and do not comment on rumour or speculation," a spokesperson for Sony told Eurogamer.
PlayTV was unveiled for PS3 at the Leipzig Games Convention last August. It lets you watch and record digital TV broadcasts independently of each other, storing content on your hard drive.
Earlier this year retailer HMV predicted the peripheral would cost GBP 99.99, and be out at the end of March. But Sony rubbished this, too.
The only official word is that PlayTV will be out sometime this year.

This game is about trying to get a white ball (or square right now) into the big purple one. You have to fight gravity and friction with anti-gravity blocks.
You also want to get to the purple square with the shortest run, least amount of anti-gravity blocks, and fastest build time. Right now it only counts how many blocks you've placed, and how long it takes the ball to get to the purple one.
I'm still working on improving this quite a bit. I'm going to change the square ball and purple one into circles and add the timer for how long it takes to build the course. I also want to add little "keys" that you have to grab before you finish, and "bombs" that kill you if you run into them. Right now the levels are random and always level 1, but I haven't made any levels yet and will shortly.
Download : http://chrisp6825.googlepages.com/Reverb.rar
Pics :
I got the idea for this game from a game on addicting games called "compulse". I saw it and it was pretty cool so I thought it'd be fun to play on psp, and to make.
Please comment and leave feed back.
Edit :
Oh I forgot controls..
You move the "mouse" around with arrow keys or analog. If you hold L and move the analog it moves slower. Press and hold cross on the boxes on the left to make new ones to place on course. Circle resets the level, and Square deletes the top block under the mouse.
This is a lua game and I've only tested it on Luaplayer HM 5.0. I'm sure it should work on Luaplayer .20 though.

Dear community, you wanted my times portal for the PSP.
It is html / flash based and therefore runs without CFW.
It is simply started from the browser (as a guide readme-txt attached in the download)
Besides some Flash Games 3 and Flash applications (Calculator, Calendar, Paint) is the heart of a Searchbar, on the one easy to search Google and Wikipedia. A Picture and Telephone Search and translators for English / German is also on board.

The dev's Black Team, composed of Darkside and Zer01ne, release the progress of their work, the first version of their Custom Firmware 3.40FE-A based on the work of Dark_AleX. The authors would like to emphasize that they are doing for their own learning. News/release from Art:
Hi Guys,
Since upgrading all of my PSP units to 3.52, I decided to make some alteration to X-Flash
so that it could be run on these units with limited functionality so that I could still
use the features that aren't firmware dependent. This means that the program has a new
option to be run without any firmware version checking at all, but it's still a 1.50 kernel
mode program, and I don't know if it will start, or how it will behave with newer firmwares,
or running under Time Machine. I have only tested it with 3.52 M33-3 which is one of the
last true 1.50 kernel mode hybrid firmwares.
The option to skip version checking disables MOST of the original functionality, although the
menu still operates the same, you will not be allowed to select firmware dependent features.
This may be liked for nostalgic purpose, or as in my case, it may still be useful for some of
the generic features such as firmware dump, changing gameboots, and plain black backgrounds.
All file writes are still verified.
Some new functionality may be implemented into a future version of X-Flash.
Donate a 32Mb Memory Stick to see your name appear in a special X-Flash greetings screen
which will include the nicknames of previous Memory Stick donators.
Cheers, Art.
