Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G reached a million copies shipped last week over in Japan. But retailers apparently didn't cut off their orders right there. Today, Capcom announced that the game has crossed the 1.5 million shipped mark.
As with the original million figure, this new figure represents a record pace for the series, which has, as of February 8, now shipped a total of 6.8 million units since its original debut on the PlayStation 2.

Sony wants to own 50 per cent of the Blu-ray Disc hardware market by the end of the year, according to a company executive.
Ryoji Chubachi, President and electronics CEO at Sony, made the bold statement during a recent press conference in Taipei, according to a DigiTimes report.
Chubachi claimed that Sony already has 20 per cent of the market. But he aims to boost Sony's share by 30 per cent through the introduction of more Blu-ray enabled products, such as HD TVs with integrated BD recorders.

LittleBigPlanet is currently in development for PSP at Sony Studio Liverpool, a source has told CVG today.
No further details were offered as to how the game will work on the PSP, but if true, we'd expect the portable edition to feature link up options with the PS3 version, set for release in September.
We could see scope for transferable levels, or a level editor on the PSP that would allow you to keep working on your creations even when away from the PS3.
We could also imagine the relatively basic 2D gameplay of the console version working well on the portable, although it would be interesting to see how the physics mechanics would convert. If the impressive bendy physics in games like Loco Roco are anything to go by, it could work pretty well.
Sony UK was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

Eidos sends word that four new multiplayer maps are on the way for Kane & Lynch's multiplayer mode, Fragile Alliance. They're all absolutely free.
In case you've never played it before, the multiplayer mode has you playing as criminals in a heist. You're encouraged to work as a team until the very end, when back-stabbing your teammates at the right moment can help you get away with all the loot. It also gives your victim a chance for revenge when they respawn as a copper.
The 'Dope Bag' pack includes four maps each with a new back-stabby heist scenario; Clean Cut has you take on the local dope dealers and the Russian mafia at an LA construction site, 'Hooker's Trail' has you clash with the Yakuza in Tokyo, 'Flying High' takes place in the Venezuelan jungle and you're after the general's Havana gold in 'Hasta La Vista'.
"With Fragile Alliance we set out to offer gamers a new experience in co-op multiplayer, giving players the choice to work as a team or backstab their teammates and work for themselves at any moment," said Kim Krogh, lead designer. "The response to Fragile Alliance has been fantastic and these new maps will serve to grow the Fragile Alliance online community even further."
It's out on April 17 (that's Xbox Live and PSN).

New screenshots from GTA IV's multiplayer component have leaked into the wild; and we've caged them like the beasts they are to allow you look at them without fear of having your head ripped off. Or something.
It's looking like it could be very, very cool indeed, and with the sequel's release date rapidly approaching we ain't got long to find out how good it really is. Or isn't.

2K Marin may be developing BioShock 2 for PlayStation 3 as well as PC and Xbox 360.
Job postings on the website call for those familiar to the system, with the level designer position specifically requiring PlayStation 3 experience.
Elsewhere the ad mentions both PS3 and Wii.
Unfortunately 2K Games was unavailable for comment.
BioShock 2 was confirmed in March, with fresh Californian studio 2K Marin set to create it under the watchful eye of Ken Levine who still looks like Luke Wilson.
While no platforms were announced most assumed PC and 360 versions would be a safe bet, given that the original game appeared on them.
BioShock 2 is down for release sometime between August and October next year. There are no details on the story as yet, but we're hoping for motorbikes and monkeys.
What are you hoping for, Eurogamer reader?

This is another release by sony, which for me i think its worthless and they just want to waste our time with it.For those who wants to get to that firmware you can update via Settings>Network Update.
The New Features are:
* While playing PSone games on your PSP, you can now customize how the buttons are assigned by going to
[Controller Settings] > [Assign Buttons] and select [Custom].
* You can now quit Remote Play and choose to turn off your PS3 or leave it on after quitting. This is useful if you are performing a download and want to quit Remote Play, but still want your download to continue on the PS3. Select [Quit and Turn Off the PS3 System] or [Quit Without Turning Off the PS3 System] from [Quit Remote Play] when you press the HOME button on the PSP system.
Download or Update Via Network Update

Sony's President and Electronics CEO, Ryoji Chubachi, hinted at new areas that their Blu-ray technology could expand into, including burners that sit inside LCD HDTVs with "recording" functionality. If this means that your future Sony TV will be able to record HDTV shows onto Blu-ray, that would be super neat (and rather convenient). What we'd really like is for Sony TVs to DVR functionality, which you could then offload shows you wanted to back up onto Blu-ray. We'd definitely pay for that.

If you're still licking your lips while gazing at that limited edition GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite, you may have the opportunity to make your GTA-branded console ownership dreams come true in a slightly different manner. Out of seemingly nowhere, a Grand Theft Auto IV PlayStation 3 bundle has popped up on a Swedish retailer's website, offering a 40GB PS3, a copy of the game, a decorated box and little else (DualShock 3?). Judging by the package art, we're guessing there's no suave paint job waiting on either side, and Webhallen has the unit priced at 4,499 SEK (or about $755). Before you ask -- there's no telling whether this thing is headed stateside or not, but surely Sony / Rockstar Games wouldn't let such a moneymaker swim around the US of A, right?
