News/release from tkj
Hi everybody.
I have now finished my work, and i think that my new program is complete!
It's a Easy PSP Installer, which installs PSP Homebrews for you, as easy as just clicking on two buttons..
It downloads, extracts, and installs the selected homebrew.
The version of the program is now at 0.93, as it is working very well, but I just need some one to test it completely and giving me feedback!
You can download it here: http://psp.tkjweb.dk/EasyInstall/Eas...l093_Setup.exe
You need to use theese Login Informations to use the program.
UserID: beta
Password: beta
Also, i've programmed a function called Auto Login. So if you create a new shortcut or change the all ready made shortcut in the Start Menu then you could get it working, so logins automatically at startup!
You need to add these parameters after the destination (except the quotes): “ userid=beta password=beta”
Please give me some feedback, and tell me if there's something wrong, or if it needs anything (features or another homebrew)
Best Regards
Thomas Jespersen - PSP.TKJWEB.DK

Why buy one version of Metallica's new album when you can buy two? Metallica's (please-don't-suck) new album Death Magnetic will be available in its entirety as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock day alongside the CD release this Friday.
We've heard quite a bit of it from the Mission Metallica website, and yes, before you wonder we ARE going to see them play at the O2 Centre next Monday for £5 each.
"We've been working very closely with Metallica and we're extremely excited to offer Death Magnetic not only in its entirety, but also with the exclusive recordings of Suicide & Redemption as downloadable content to Guitar Hero fans," said Tim Riley, VP of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. "We're proud to be setting a new precedent for our two industries, making an entire new album available in two different mediums simultaneously."
Xbox Live users will needs to be loaded up with 1440 Points while it'll cost PSN players $17.99. We reckon about the price of the CD in real money.

D3Publisher will be offering six previously UMD-based games on the PSP Store this month.
Puzzle Quest, the excellent PSP blend of puzzle and RPG that we waxed lyrical about back in early April 2007, leads the charge.
The other titles on offer will be Dead Head Fred, Cube, WTF: Work Time Fun (!), PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient and PQ2: Practical Intelligence Quotient 2.
Puzzle Quest costs USD 15. The other prices vary between that and USD 10.
Sony Japan recently announced plans to implement a true PSP Store - which is to say games downloaded direct to the handheld rather than via PC - this autumn.
European plans are yet to be set.

Konami has fired out some new shots and info on Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, due out this November in Europe on PSP.
Now we're not experts in this field (card trading battle games) so you'll have to bare with us.
Konami tells us that Tag Force 3 features characters from the third and fourth series of the show, with "players charged with assembling the ultimate card deck by defeating their peers in thrilling duels".
There's more: "Over 3500 cards can be collected and used, and players can also partner with a dueling partner to embark on graduation tag duels against rival pairs."
Konami pulls no punches in saying that it's the most advanced Yu-Gi-Oh! title to hit PSP. We wouldn't know.

Righto, this year is supposed to be the year of the PS3. That's what they say, whoever they are. But Sony Worldwide Studios honcho Shuhei Yoshida also hopes next year would be the year of the PS3. Talking about this year (and next), Yoshida says:
All the things are now coming together in terms of the right hardware, cost and pricing, and we are increasing our hard disc space as we are increasing the content we’re offering through the network and the big titles we’re working on, coming out this Christmas. All that is coming together this year... That’s not to say we’re not working on product for next year. We have some titles that we have announced this year for release next year, like Heavy Rain and MAG, our big 256-player online title... Also there are some titles that we are targeting to launch next year that we have not announced yet. We still have a lot to come.
That way Yoshida can say the year after next is the year of the PS3, too. Endless!

The SOCOM: Confrontation public beta hasn't exactly been smooth. Good thing it's a beta. And good thing it's getting patched today with 8:00 AM EST — server maintenance will take 1.5 hours. But the Public Beta 1.10 Patch isn't a cure-all. According to the SOCOM Online Team: "The server maintenance and patch are not meant to address all issues. We will have more updates to both the server and client in the future."
We will be performing server maintenance and rolling out a new patch on September 9th at 5am PDT, 1200 GMT. The SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation game servers will be unavailable during the maintenance. The server maintenance is not expected to last longer than 1 1/2 hours.
SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta 1.10 Patch
* Adds support for European EULAs.
* Adds support for dedicated servers located in Europe and Australia.
* Addresses a number of stability and late joining issues.
* Reduce the volume of the proximity chat by 50%.
The server maintenance and patch are not meant to address all issues. We will have more updates to both the server and client in the future.
Regards,
SOCOM Confrontation Online Team

News from Uberjack:
If there’s one thing that’s more annoying than malfunctioning hardware, it’s fried hardware. In a laptop.
The Nvidia card in my Inspiron 9300 (my main development machine) is fried - the display is a mess, and the system hangs shortly after starting up. I’ve already ordered a replacement card, but that’s probably going to take a while. For the last couple of days, I’ve been relegated to developing on a remote machine via NoMachine NX, then downloading the compiled binary for testing. This is ridiculously inefficient, but it hasn’t been without fruitful results.

EP has again updated the Launchelf app for the PS2, heres whats new:
LaunchELF v4.28 (2008.09.07)
-Fixed a bug in the CNF parser, preventing variables from being accepted when not separated by any other character from the '=' character preceding its value string.
NB: Since uLE always uses a space separator in creating CNF files, this bug has never affected CNF files created by uLE, but only CNF files edited by 'hand' and the SYSTEM.CNF files of game discs, causing some of those not to work with the PS2Disc command of uLE. So try again now, with games that failed earlier.

Eastasiasoft plans to release side-scrolling shooter Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer on PlayStation Network this October.
The game, not to be confused with the first-person shooter series of a similar name, has a dozen stages full of colourful baddies to fly a little spaceship through and blow baddies to pieces on.
Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer is out on PC already, of course [of course - Ed], but has marked improvements on PS3. Backgrounds are animated and visuals polished, plus more music added and sound effects improved. There's also new enemies and sub-bosses to batter.
An easier difficulty level has been popped in to stop screams of anger, and the core system has been adjusted and now has fancy new victory screens for doing well.

Here in the States, Qore subscribers will be able to fling mud across the startled faces of both friends and enemies alike in the Motorstorm: Pacific Rift demo which is due out this week for those who purchased the fourth installment of Sony's online gaming mag. Unfortunately, Qore number four isn't available on the PSN in other territories -- however, a recent news brief from unofficial PlayStation blog Three Speech hints that Europeans will receive the demo soon -- albeit in a fairly unconventional manner.
Three Speech reports that random European PS3 owners will be receiving vouchers this coming Thursday via email which will allow them to download the Pacific Rift demo on PSN. We're not entirely sure why Sony decided upon this "Golden Ticket" approach for the demo's release -- sure, the hype built from all the exclusivity will likely pay off, but will all the disappointment felt by the unchosen really be worth it?

You may or may not recollect TyRaNid’s PSP development tool: RemoteJoy. Essentially RemoteJoy provides “TV out” capabilities over a USB connection with your PC. With that said — non-Slim owners and non-FuSa users — you too can now experience PSP on a larger scale.
Japanese developer, Akind (correct me if I’m wrong?), has taken TyRaNid’s project and has further optimized it for us end-users. Packaged in the form of a small PRX plug-in and Windows executable — we have RemoteJoyLite.
Sadly, I can’t provide a screenshot for you; RemoteJoyLite doesn’t seem to function under Parallels on my Mac. Although, I did stumble across this YouTube video demonstrating the dopeness:
