Quality of visuals will advance further as developers get to grips with new hardware
Further improvements to graphical quality on PS4 games will be seen in year three or four of the console’s lifecycle, says Mark Cerny.
Speaking to Polygon, the hardware’s lead system architect said early PS4 developers were currently taking advantage of the system’s unified memory and PC-like architecture, which was relatively easy for them to get up to speed with using.
He said however that developers were not yet taking full advantage of the customisations Sony made to the PS4’s GPU, and consumers could expect to see higher levels of graphical quality after three or four years following the console’s launch as developers get to grip’s with the hardware’s capabilities.
"It's a supercharged PC architecture, so you can use it as if it were a PC with unified memory," said Cerny.
"Much of what we're seeing with the launch titles is that usage; it's very, very quick to get up to speed if that's how you use it. But at the same time, then you're not taking advantage of all the customisation that we did in the GPU. I think that really will play into the graphical quality and the level of interaction in the worlds in, say, year three or year four of the console."

Audio party chat will work between the PS4 and PS Vita, according to a recent tweet from Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios. We've inquired with Sony PR for further details.
Cross-game online chat has been available on PS Vita since its launch, but the feature never made it to the PlayStation 3. With the launch of the PlayStation 4, which also supports cross-game chat, we can all finally talk to each other no matter what we're playing. But can we, you know, communicate?

Square Enix plans to provide Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn with major updates every three months, "continuously adding large-scale content." So said director Naoki Yoshida, who confirmed FF14's second coming will also receive "full" expansion packs in the future.
"We've already begun work on the first update that is currently called patch 2.1 and will introduce a large-scale housing system, as well as "The Wolves' Den" - the first ever PvP content in the series," said Yoshida on the PlayStation Blog. "Furthermore, the update will include new dungeons, a new daily quest system, new Primal battles, extensions to the main story, and loads of other new content to enjoy."
The news follows a shaky early access weekend for the reborn MMO, in which servers brimmed to full and fundamental tools like character creation(!) were inaccessible. Realm Reborn is being released worldwide on PS3 and Windows PC today - best of luck to all the adventurers out there - and will come to PS4 sometime next year.

Sony is hoping that by now you either don't already own a PlayStation 3, or direly need a game console to match your primary colored living room decor before November 15th. To that end, the tech giant is releasing the previously Japan-only "azurite blue"PS3 Superslim exclusively to GameStop. The console sports a 250GB hard drive, one matching DualShock 3 controller and a $249.99 price tag -- kinda makes that $200 12GB model look a bit silly now, doesn't it? Pre-orders open up tomorrow and you'll be able to pick one up from your favorite GameStop or Canadian EB Games starting October 8th.

Independent retailers are urging Microsoft and Sony to keep the cost of Xbox One and PS4 games at or below the £50 mark.
Retail lists have pencilled in Xbox One and PS4 game prices as anywhere between £50 to £70. EA so far is the only company to confirm its next-gen video game prices, with RRPs for Battlefield 4 and FIFA 14 set at £54.99. Microsoft has also stated that all first party Xbox One games will retail for £49.99.
But indies say that consumers won’t stand for anything higher than a £50 price tag.
“Can publishers justify asking for twice the cost for what is definitely not twice the game?” said Gameseek MD Stephen Staley. “The current-gen pricing is just about acceptable: around £40 to £50. This isn’t the right economic climate to ask someone to pay over £50 for a game.”
Games Centre boss Robert Lindsay concurs: “Initial next gen owners aren’t going to be deterred by a £50 game. This has been the average price on console launch titles for years.”
Few retailers sell current gen games at the RRP of £49.99, instead selling them for around £35.
But ShopTo CEO Igor Cipolletta questions if this will be the case when Xbox One and PS4 arrive.
“The question is: Will retailers drop margin and sell at the same price as before?,” he said. “Or will the margin be higher for the next gen?”

Rockstar has detailed the digital extras included in the Special and Collector's Editions of Grand Theft Auto V.
Both will offer three additional weapons in Ammu-Nation outlets – the .50 Caliber Pistol, the Bullpup Shotgun and the Hammer melee weapon.
There’s a 20 per cent discount at all in-game shops, while each of the game’s three characters will get an extra outfit, an extra item of clothing, an extra haircut, an extra facial hair option and additional tattoo.
Each character will also get a 25 per cent boost to their Special Ability recharge time. Michael and Franklin, a marksman and skilled driver respectively, will be able to slow down time while “drug-addled sociopath” Trevor will be able to cause double damage.
Five Stunt Plane Trials will also be thrown in.
The Collector’s Edition gets a couple of extras on top of this.
Players of GTA Online will be able to play as characters designed to appear as offspring from historic GTA characters Niko Bellic, of GTA IV, and GTA III pair Claude and Misty. This will also affect the character’s customised daily activities.
Also included in this SKU are some unique vehicles (the CarbonRS sports bike, Hotknife hotrod and the online-only Khamelion electric car), all of which will be found in an exclusive garage.
All of this is on top of the physical inclusions detailed elsewhere.

PCSX2 SVN r5724 is compiled. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.
PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r5724
onepad: fix a bug to handle multiple button (fix #1271)
zzogl: fix memory leak (fix #1431, #1432)
GSdx ogl: disable geometry shader on Nvidia/Windows (I will wait a 3rd implementation to find which one is correct)

Nickname: Orion_
Project Name: Yopaz IceStar
From: France
Division: GAME
Platform: Playstation 1
Original Enter: YES
Support Motion: NO
In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10: NO
You play as a little character named Yopaz and you must collect all the stars in the universe,
but the vacuum of space forces you to slide indefinitely when you run in one direction.
Only an ice wall will stop you in your tracks!
With this unusual constraint, you will need to collect all stars on each level.
Use the arrows on your joypad to move in any direction or navigate through the menus.
Use the X button to validate in the Menu, and Triangle button to get back.
In game, use the Triangle button to restart the level, and the X button to exit.
This puzzle game preview features 15 levels in 3 worlds.
Try to beat the best time !
The world "Advanced" provides additional features for seasoned players.
You will be able to change your color and collect stars of the corresponding color!
Your color will also allow you to go through teleporters, direction changers, or even protect you from enemies!
Download ISOs in 7Zip format (30Meg) (pal, ntsc, jap)
Note: I use 7zip because it compress much better the 3 huge iso files which are almost similar except for the region security part.
If you use an emulator, I recommend using pSX emulator, you will get the full CD music and accurate emulation: http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

Project Name: Sky Racer
From: USA
Division: Game
Platform: PSP
Original Enter: Yes
Hello, I am Musky44, with my new game sky racer. In the game there is 3 game modes, Time Trial:
You try to reach the star with the highest score possible, you also try to pick up power-ups which not only give you extra points but give you more ammo for your gun. When you reach the finish line, you get a certain amount of money based on your score and if your score beats the last high-score, it goes on the main menu as high-score.
Survival:
Personally my favorite mode, in survival you try to survive as long as possible, you have three hearts, each time your ship crashes you lose a heart, when you lose all three you die
Two player:
In two player you play on the same psp (i am working on adhoc still) and race the other player to the star, there are power-ups also but instead of boosting your score power-ups allow you to hit blocks and warp them in front of your opponent slowing down their progress.
But what do you do with the money you earn?
you go to the store
Store:
At the store there is lots of nice stuff to get like new ships, new types of bullets, gun upgrades and the fabled fastest ship in the game that only you can discover. (hint: its very colorful)
But to play you need to know the controls
Controls:
left arrow: move left/ select back
right arrow: move right/ select forward
up arrow: choose class/ move up at store
down arrow: choose class/ move down at store
cross: fire gun/ buy stuff
triangle: choose ship to use
start: erase previous work to start over
The game autosaves so you dont have to worry about saving. it also auto loads.
that's all for the game, but also i would like to thank neoflash for hosting this competition and hope the competition will happen again next year! I would also like to say, I like the other games i am seeing, i like their retro graphics. i made a 2d minecraft like for the computer but when i tried to port it to the psp it did not work out. if you would like to see the minecraft like, its still beta, you can go to http://mytho.weebly.com/beta-games.html
