Jack Tretton, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment, has once again re-stated Sony's European launch plans for the PS3, confirming that its on schedule for March.
"We're equally strong in all three markets. We can't afford to sacrifice any one of them," Tretton said.
This news follows speculation that the console will suffer further delays - although such has already been dismissed by Sony's Euro boss as being "without foundation."
Even if the PS3 does indeed launch in March, the Xbox 360 will have already been on sale in PAL territories for a year and four months. There's much catching up to be done.

Despite initial manufacturing problems, Sony has shipped a total of 1 million PS3 consoles to North America in the first six weeks on sale.
Jack Tretton, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment, confirmed the figures at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas yesterday, commenting: "SCEA went to great lengths to help meet demand for PS3 including airlifting systems into North America on a weekly basis"
He added, "The fact that we were able to reach the one-million mark faster than our top-selling platform, the PS2, further validates the strength of the PlayStation brand and our belief that consumers are ready to experience true high-definition gaming."
This figure beats the Xbox 360, which shipped 600,000 units in the same time at its launch, but still trails the Wii, which has already sold more than 1.8 million consoles.

Some good news if you have a few quid to throw about and you're a big homebrew enthusiast, Music Lover, or someone who hates the thought of changing their PS1 games around in their memory stick every other day. Sony are releasing 8gb models of their Pro Duo Memory Stick next month.
Aside from coming in with an adapter for devices with a standard-size memory stick media slot, it is also armed with MagicGate copy protection technology.
Info :
* 8GB MSX-M8GS Memory Stick model
* Weighing in at just two grams
* 0.79-inches wide and 1.22-inches long
* Sporting the ten-pin Serial Memory Stick interface
* 1,500 images in 10-megapixel, fine mode
* More than 18 hours of video at 768Kb per seconds in MPEG4 compression
* Can hold a collection about 2,000 songs in the MP3 format at 128 kbps with an average of four minutes per song
8GB Memory Stick PRO Duo will become available beginning February for US$ 300 (yes, you just read that correctly, $300) . It can be purchased from Sony Style (both online and retail stores) as well as authorized dealers in all states. UK release isn't confirmed but I doubt it would be longer than 2 weeks after US release.
It would be awesome to own a 8gb memory stick, especially with the release of Popstation, its just a shame about the price tag.
Edit : More information will become clear after tonights Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.

Well, here's my new homebrew titled Puzzle Challenge:
Puzzle Challenge is a puzzle game similar to Pokemon Puzzle league,
or Super Tetris attack.
The object of the game, is to get your opponents screen filled
up with blocks before yours.
You can remove blocks by lining up three or more of the same type
of block horizontally or vertically. If you get four or more of the same
block together it will drop a block on your opponents side.
The Arrow keys move the cursor.
The Cross key swaps the two blocks in the cursor
The Triangle key advances your tower of blocks.
The Square key turns off the music.
This game includes adhoc, for psp vs. psp multiplayer,
and human vs. computer.
Enjoy!

Went to china for the summer and picked up this leaflet from one of the markets. Gotta love the "psp" branding all over it, the "rf online" screenshot on the screen, but best of all, the motto "THE GAME KINGDON IS ONLY I AM ONLY".

This is the very first screenshot that's been shown for the remake of Twin Bee Da!, the Game Boy episode which will be included as an extra on Twin Bee Portable, the announced compilation for PSP. It reveals a quite high resolution (using the whole PSP's screen without scaling) for the update's graphics, making us lament even more that these compilations are not being released for a proper console. Check the full preview on Konami's shooting game packs coming this month over here at Game Watch.

News/release from daaa57150
I'm working on a game project since some time now and as I find it already entertaining I decided to release an alpha version.
My game is a variant of the "President" card game and I decided to write it in LUA. It uses the LuaPlayer 0.16, but you don't have to care as everything is in the zip file, just put everything at the usual place. This is a FW1.5 version, I don't know for other people, sorry.
Heres whats New:
0.5a
support for themes
preferences are saved
"\r" bug in properties loading
state is saved
scores added: points and reigns
minor bugs
even more speech
tried to optimize refresh rate
exit goes to xmb
menus lifting.

If there's one combination that we can all agree is great, it's two hydrogen molecules getting down with one oxygen molecule. H2O-yeah. One combination we're not so down with: H2O and electronics. The war between the two factions is ancient and storied, full of broken dreams (and motherboards). To help prevent such senseless violence, Atlantic is dipping their waterproof toes back into the consumer electronics pool with two new entries to their GameKeeper line: waterproof gameSEAL cases for both the Nintendo DS (Phat and Lite varieties) and the PSP, available now for $39.99. The PSP model can hold the console, 10 UMDs, two Memory Stick Duos, and charger; the DS model holds the console, 12 DS carts, 16 GBA carts, plus charger. GameSEAL, get it? It seals, like a case, but it's waterproof, like a seal. Clever.

News/release from gracz
So, I thought I'd release what I've done now.
This one is a PSP MAC address changer - it's still noobproof unfortunately, but you can surely modify the MAC...
So, download the EBOOT which is included with this post and paste it into psp/game150 (or psp/game) [I've only tested this on 3.03 OE-A, mind you].
Run the app and press X to dump the MAC ID.
Then, grab any hex editor (I use Hex Workshop) and you should see your MAC in hexes at the beggining of the file. Change the MAC to whatever you wish, just don't type in new characters or change anything else except the MAC, because it could brick if you would do so.
Save the file and run the app again, this time press O and the left trigger to flash the file to the IDStorage.
Bam, you should have a changed MAC address! If not, well... you will have a nice doorstep.
I don't take any responsibility for any of your bricked PSPs, remember.
And thanks to harleyg for his work on IDStorage, sorry I forgot about it in the first place.
So, time for version 2.
Changelog:
- a few bugfixes
- added a few checks
- added 1.5 version
- added proper thanks

News/release from agentdark64:
Hey all,
I'v made a few bug fixes and added new features for pspShark. I'v also added official support for 3.03 OE-A. With the new pspShark you can easily convert cwcheat into pspShark ones.
Version 1.1
NEW FEATURES:
1. Added two new search types (Hexidecimal 4 bytes and hexidecimal 1 byte)
2. More error messages to be displayed when errors arise
3. Added Misc section
4. Menu start buttons can now be configured
5. Added Scratchpad
6. cwcheats can be loaded/converted into pspShark ones
7. Added official 3.02 OE-A/3.02 OE-B and 3.03 OE-A support in installer
MISC CHANGES:
8. pspShark now uses game id for unique way to determine game instead of checksum
NEW FIXES:
8. Fixed bugs where loading the menu could but unlikely crash the psp.
9. Fixed a possible deadlock scenario when sceIoOpen("disc0:/UMD_DATA.BIN") was being read
10. Improve speed in "Current Cheats Installed" when many cheats were present in the list of cheats installed.
If you use OE-A or OE-B (whatever firmware), here how you activate pspShark once installed:
1-now boot your 3.02/3.03 OE-A/OE-B psp up while pressing R
2-go to advanced -> Advanced configuration
3-Enable by pressing X on Plain modules in UMD/ISO
4-select back for two times
5-Select plugins
6-Press X over pspShark.prx [GAME] it will say ENABLED
7-exit recovery and enjoy
Mac/Linux Users, Just unzip the zip file (above) to the root of your memory stick.
People using 3.03 OE-A/3.02 OE-B or OE-A that use auto installer (first download link above) still need to add the entry "ms0:/seplugins/pspShark.prx" in the game.txt file in your seplugins folder.
oh yeah, if anyone has Burnout Legends Region 4 - ULES00125 (UK/AUS)
try this pspShark cheat for insane acceleration (you go up to 500 mph)

This version supports text rendering using TrueType fonts. Here's a list of what's changed:
- Interface and email text now rendered with TrueType Fonts. Thanks to FreeType and the Bookr project for the code.
- Skin and font textures are now swizzled.
- Rendered fonts and skin pngs are now cached in their swizzled state. That means rendering of the .ttf and .png files will only happen the first time the app is launched, subsequent launches/quits will be much quicker.
- We no longer ship with "default" settings and contacts xml files. They will be automatically generated at runtime if they don't exist. This means users no longer need to backup their settings.xml and contacts.xml files when upgrading.
- Fix a crash and some rendering bugs in CText.
INSTALL/UPGRADE NOTES: unzip the PSPoste_Beta4_FW15.zip file to your PSP/GAME directory. Existing settings, contacts and mail will be preserved.
Any questions, comments, bug reports or feature requests can be sent to psposte@gmail.com or visit http://www.psposte.org
Notes on mirroring: we would appreciate if sites did not mirror our releases, but instead link to the "Files" section (or "PSPoste" package) on our sourceforge project page. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

New release from LiraNuna
After the release of Dark_Alex’s custom firmware, only wnidows GUIs were created to the popstation converter, so I decided to code my own GUI version.
Bare in mind that this is my very first GUI application. Feel free to suggest better ways to use the API.
