There are sure a lot of "best of lists" coming out of the woodwork now since the year is beginning to come to a close. And not surprisingly, many of the lists read basically the same. Many of the games that are on those lists are definitely must play games (Super Mario Galaxy, Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box), but whatever happened to the other games that were fantastic throughout the year like World in Conflict, Persona 3, or Lunar Knights to name a few. With just an avalanche of triple A titles hitting us at the end of the year, many excellent games were overshadowed by the sheer amount of press coverage and excellent PR campaigns that were given to those games that were at the top of those 2007 lists. So here are the games that are the ones that have been forgotten because they came out early in the year or worse, never got the credit that they deserved in the first place.
The PS3 games in the list:
03) Super Stardust HD (Playstation 3)
16) Virtua Tennis 3 (PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Sony PSP)

DaveX gave a present to all developers interested in taking Snes emulation on the PSP Further:
Hi everybody!
By Chilly Willy advice, I have decided to publish the full source code of the different Ruka's versions of Snes9xTYL++ which I have.
When I was working in the autofire and quicksave features for Snes9xTYL++, I just thinked that I only need to replace the files in the original Snes9xTYL source code with the ones provided in the diffs that Ruka published in his website.
I was wrong. If you do such a thing, you'll get something that it's not compilable. I don't know if it was intentionally, but not all modified files were published in their respective diff version.
What I did then, was to check for those unpublished files and modified them accordingly to get a fully compilable version.
The latest one version which I was able to rebuild is version 26. I know it's not the latest one, but when I have a more recent version, I will publish it.
Greets,
Davex

News/release from Johnny McKinney:
As I promised I updated the program to fix the weird progressive display.
V2.0 Changelog:
* Fixed the display of the image that made it look like a tv in prgressive mode (Thanks to Ziethiec over at psp-hacks for helping me in figuring out I forgot to end my function with a bracket, silly me lol)
* Adjusted the anologs sensitivity.
Known Bugs:
None
To Use:
I have adjusted the sensitivity for the analog so the use has changed slightly for better more accurate results.
Basically if your analog stick is acting up you can find out if you need to replace it by using this program. If the X and Y are not between 120 and 130 then thats ok, if they are above the 140's or below the 110's you may need to clean your analog stick. If the X and Y are above the 160's or below the 90's you may need to consider replacing your analog stick.
Additional Information:
This is the final version unless some bugs pop up that I need to handle. Therefor I will now be starting work on a homebrew game. I am looking for a partner if anyone is interested then feel free to PM me. I think I have an idea of the game I want to make.

Buy a regular PSP and the only shock you'll get is how little time you spend actually playing games on the thing. But buy one of these PSPs, and you'll get shocked. For reals! Imaginatively called the "Shock Your Friend PSP Console", sure, it doesn't look exactly like a real PSP. Course, real PSPs don't, as far as we're aware,

There are so many great developers out there writing software all the time for the great hand-held console, but out all of them, which one is the youngest, and which one is the oldest!?
Who knows, there could be a 5 year old PSP coder out there somewhere, unlikely but maybe. :P Or even PSP coders in their 80's! Haha, ok well maybe not, but it would be interesting to see who is actually the youngest and oldest of them all out there.

Albeit being unable to make our own mods just yet for the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament 3, it appears that the fellows over at Epic games are "helping" us along in the process, by taking a few UT3 mods and making them work on the PS3.
Epic Games is proud to take the first bold step in a new era! Today we're releasing the very first user-created content for Unreal Tournament 3 on PlayStation 3.
We're starting with a user-created map called DM-Shrine created by Thomas Browett, who goes by the name Setheran on the official UT3 forums. Thomas is a 23 year old graphic designer from Nottingham, England. He's been playing Unreal since the very first Unreal Tournament and he says he's enjoyed every game in the series. He made a few maps for the original Unreal Tournament but hadn't done anything since this one. He finds the third generation Unreal Editor to be very friendly and feature rich.
DM-Shrine is is a great little map that's perfect those close-quarters, 2-6 player, matches that keep your adrenaline pumping from beginning to end. A lot of our DM maps in UT3 are designed for larger player counts so this provides a great contrast and a chance to play in a more intimate setting. I've always loved these types of maps and I hope you folks do as well!

This comes first as a gamer, and second as a forum poster. I was shocked to hear that Assassin's Creed would not be appearing on the PSP. But i was even more stunned to heard that it would be appearing on the DS. I have taken the Resident Evil for PSP petition as both inspiration and an example and created one for Assassin's Creed.
Sign the petition: http://petitiononline.com/ac4psp/petition.html
Considering the Resident Evil petition received 30,000+ signatures, and Capcom responded...the goal is to meet and surpass 10,000 signatures. If at all possible, please sign the petition and pass the link on to a friend.
If You havent played assains creed check it out at stores, on tv, all over the web too adn im surly you will like it and i hope we reach the goal because i myself always wanted this for psp too.

GiGaHeRz has released a new version of his sound plugin for PS2 Emulators:
[-][*] Changed the way the ATTR register is handled. Should fix a lot of games, but it's experimental. [*] Changed the thread priority of the output modules to TIME_CRITICAL, so that they have the highest possible priority. [*] Updated to latest and final version of FMod 3. [*] Changed some parts of register-based (PIO) memory writes to speed up audio streaming writes in RotTK games.
[+] Added DirectSound output module. It seems to work better than all the other modules so I set it as the new default.
[+] Added setting of IRQ reason flags. I didn't even know that register existed!
[+] Added a new ADPCM decoder based on the old one, but with full-block decoding to try to make it a bit faster.
[-] If running with an older emulator build, the CoreReset feature is executed immediately, without a delay.
This fixes booting problems in bios and many games that were broken since this feature was introduced..

We're not quite ready to believe these things function as advertised just yet, but it seems that multi-region Blu-ray players are beginning to pop up on a few overseas websites. We're seeing a region hacked Samsung BD-P1400 and Sony BDP-S300 / BDP-S500, each of which are reportedly modified to play nice with BD regions A / B as well as DVD regions 1 / 2. Aside from that, each player looks to be unchanged, but you better believe the convenience won't run you cheap. Over at Stegen Electronics, a multi-region BDP-S300 will demand €599 ($878), while the modded BDP-S500 rings up at €899 ($1,318), and until someone bites the bullet and confirms that these things actually do what they claim to, we'd recommend holding off.

News/release from Johnny McKinney
Anyway I wanted to release an app I made. The main reason I made this was to see if I could port the old one I made from LUA to C++. In which I did. It was simple, I just mainly wanted to see if I could do it, but when I released it about a year and a half ago I had a few people to like it because it was so simple, so I figured I would port it to be smaller of a file size and more advanced.
Basically if your analog stick is acting up you can find out if you need to replace it by using this program. If the X and Y are not between 120 and 125 then thats ok, if they are in the 140's you may need to replace your analog stick like I had to.
Additional Information: I do plan on updating this one more time to fix a bug that made the screen act like it was in progressive mode. After that I plan on actually making some sort of game. I just don't know what yet. Any ideas I'd be up to it.
