SuccessHK have today announced a restock of the Silver and White 40GB PS3 Consoles. So for those in the rest of the world who dont like the Black PS3 your in luck :P
Those interested in the UK should note that all PS3 Games are region free and the PS3 itself is worldwide power supply compatible, no silly dropdown converters.
Some UK blueray films wont work in a Jap PS3 but most are multi region these days.
The price is a rather decent $403 or say around £199, shipping via airmail is around £30 and ask for it to be marked as a sample to avoid those nasty customs charges. SuccessHK are one of the only firms to ship that way and its very decent of them.

Phantasy Star Portable continues its fine run in Japan with Sega confirmed that it has shipped 500,000 copies of the game to retailers in its first week. A great performance for Sega which Mainichi says is not unlike Virtua Fighter 2’s launch on the Dreamcast.
In another article at Mainichi, PSP (the system) is the best selling hardware for the fifth month in a row based on Enterbrain’s figure. Around 250,000 units of our favorite handheld were sold in July and Namco Baindai’s Gundam Battle Universe contributed to that with 190,000 copies sold during the month, the third best selling software of the month. Dragon Quest V took top stop with an amazing 860,000 copies with Persona 4 at 2nd with 260,000.

Here's everything we know about Dead Rising 2: it's coming. Really, that's it ... and even that, we don't know for sure; however, close watchers of the industry might remind you that a sequel to a successful game (now a franchise with the addition of the Wii-centric Chop Till You Drop) is more or less a certainty so, with that in mind, we've been on the prowl for Dead Rising 2 deets since the original debuted two years ago this month.
... and all we've got is a handful of rumors. The first: Dead Rising 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive; the second: Dead Rising 2 will be multiplatform and development duties will be handled by a Western developer. Oh, and both of those rumors are from the same source. Now, along comes Capcom marketing man John Diamonon posting on the official PlayStation.Blog site, dropping the smallest of teases that would seem to not only intimate another Dead Rising sequel is in development (no way!) but that it would be heading to the PlayStation 3 as well.
Diamonon's tease came in response to a barely legible comment praising the developer for supporting the PlayStation 3 and asking that despite Capcom's VP of business development and strategic planning Christian Svensson "saying that there is no chance in [sic] happening, please give us a bit of hope on Dead Rising." Diamonon's response: "You haven't seen the last of Dead Rising." Of course, we could interpret this comment any number of ways but we'd like to think that Capcom just threw a knowing wink and a smile our way. Right back atcha Cap'.

Q-Games has a pair of patches prepared for PSN games PixelJunk Eden and PixelJunk Monsters.
Eden is in line for "a more namby pamby mode for the 'lighter' people out there", developer boss Dylan Cuthbert told TheBBPS.com. He hints that we may see more gameplay modes based around the swinging mechanic, too.
PixelJunk Monsters will be broken into four difficulty levels to help ease multi-skilled people in; extreme mode will be added to the easy, medium, and hard options.
Cuthbert gave no indication of when these patches will arrive, which is about as useful as Michael Jackson's original face.

Downloadable PS3 title PAIN will be retrofitted with Trophies on 4th September, according to the Sony blog.
That's also the day that you will be able to buy the new Amusement Park level, although we'll have to wait and see whether the European release date tallies with the US one.
The inevitable question about Trophies is whether they are retroactive. "Most of the trophy requirements are new so we haven't tracked your progress until now," producer Travis Williams said in response, implying that developer Idol Minds has come up with unique goals. "Some work you will get credit for."
If you're a PAIN fan and want to know what you will be aiming for, head over to the PAIN Trophies blog-post and scroll down.
And, in case if you've been living under a collapsed skyscraper with a ragdoll nurse for the last few months, Trophies are PlayStation 3's answer to Xbox Live Achievements, rewarding your accomplishments with shiny prizes.
One day you'll be able to display Trophies in your PlayStation Home abode, and in the meantime you can compare your skills with other people on your friends' list. Early supporters include Super Stardust HD, PixelJunk Eden, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Buzz! Quiz TV.

Nherve has almost finished his Hard Drive Plug-In for PCSX2 a Sony Playstation 2 emulator for the PC. This Plug-In should allow you to take advantage of games that require a hard drive (like Final Fantasy XI) and also let you run applications like HD Loader that work with the drive. Here's his progress report.
"As the title says, you'll have a HDD plugin very soon. I already got my plugin to work, but there're a few issues that I must resolve before releasing. Before, it didn't work, but I was using a size of 2 GBs, when changing to 8 Gbs, it worked (yes, HDD size is selectable).
1 - HDLoader always prompts me for formatting, no matter if the HDD is already formatted. Maybe this is because I don't emulate EEPROM, maybe it's a bug with saves. Any tip will be welcome.
2 - The CDVD plugins don't support changing DVD while PCSX2 is running, so I can't copy any game on my emulated HDD. I think I'll have to either modify an existing plugin or write my own.
But, when these issues will be solved, I'll release this plugin.
Feel free to tell if you think a HDD plugin would be useful or not."

Sometimes company bosses astound me, heres a killer article from Buttonmasher:
It must be a little tough sometimes being in charge of a PAL region, getting berated by random people (me) about the delays experienced in one of the smallest markets in the world (NZ). David Reeves fortunately was brutally honest when we talked at E3 and some points rung true, others……..
My question after talking about the video download service not coming to Pal regions (yet) was - what about the games in general? (Talking about delays) We have to wait 4-5 months for some games because of the localisation for the Europe region.
I think honestly you will continue to do that because I don’t think that the localization is controlled enough in the USA to be able to put it into New Zealand……….
Here’s where it gets good.
We are a PAL market and we are going to do it in PAL and we are going to do it properly, you can wait for it and you can have it in good quality, you know you can get the stuff from Bittorrent if you want to and download PSP games, it’s up to you.
Now I highly doubt David Reeves was advocating piracy but I think he did point out what a lot of people are doing to circumvent the delays that the PAL region experiences, importing becomes more and more popular as does piracy. Of the two options I know which I prefer and as prices remain high with continuing delays importing will only prove more and more tempting.

Our gamer friends in Saudi Arabia can't buy titles like God of War 2. Not only are they banned for sale within the country, if you order it online you risk having it confiscated, and then you have to pay a fat fine (about $125 US.) No surprise that this kind of crackdown only breeds a black market for the goods in question, and reader Alaa A. shows us how some retailers get around things so he and others can get their Kratos on.
Alaa tells us that at Rashid mall in Khobar, he spied Chains of Olympus, the GOW version for the PSP. Wondering if that meant they also had GOW2 he inquired. Lo and behold, they did. And here's the part where I want to imagine Alaa wearing a fedora and the clerk in an eyepatch, with a monkey perched on his shoulder, leading him into an anteroom while looking nervously over his shoulder. The guy handed Alaa a shrink-wrapped copy of Winning Eleven. When he opened it, inside was the God of War 2 disc, and the GoW cover neatly slid behind the Winning Eleven artwork.
"I got for around $25 and it’s an original copy," Alaa said. "Makes me feel dirty for some reason though."

News/release from Voldemort09
You probably already know, but in the PSP, each type of file should be stored in a specific folder.
You can also see our tutorial on the subject: [TUTO] files and formats useful to the PSP.
So what's more frustrating when you want to transfer a file on his PSP does not have to file necessary?
Well Voldemort09 thought of you. His little utility DirMaker 1.0 is a plugin which to launch the PSP, will check the available records and create those missing.
