News/release from Mickael2054
Mickael2054 our forums has posted PSPNotes, a homebrew its creation, which aims to read, create and delete notes that you have. Very useful if you want to write something and you take your PSP anywhere with you.
One small bug, letters with accents do not seem to be taken into account.
When launching the utility, you can choose your language, English or french.

Ubisoft will re-release the original Driver on the PlayStation Store next Thursday.
The game will cost EUR 4.99 (GBP 3.99), and chauffeur us back 10 years to the heady days of PSone in order to see what all the fuss was about. PSone games on PSN are typically compatible with both PS3 and PSP.
With a Metacritic average of 87 per cent, Driver remains the top-rated game in the series so far, despite numerous attempts by developer Reflections to revive Tanner and his mission-based driving.
Not that Ubisoft has stopped trying. Earlier this month the BBC revealed that Reflections was working on "a whole new version" of Driver.

Cardinal Arc Portable is coming to North America! YUKE's Company of America have announced that a PSP version of the hit Japanese PS2 title Cardinal Arc: The Neverland Card War is coming our way this October. The card-based strategy RPG revolves around the Dominators, wielders of Neverland's Spectral Cards. You play a young Dominator named Galahad who seeks to banish an evil god and end the war between humans and demons that threatens to tear the world apart.
The PSP version of the game is enhanced with new cut scenes, updated sounds and graphics, and all new ad hoc multiplayer modes that allow two players to battle it out in real-time. YUKE's says the game is "one of the finest card-strategy games ever created for the PSP", but of course they're biased. Find out for yourself this Fall!

Dark Alex has released Despertar del Cementerio "Universal Unbricker" v6, heres the release info:
Changes in version 6
-----------------------
- Now installs 4.01 M33-2
- Change of core. Now it uses 4.01 M33 core. This fixes some TA-88 crashing because of 1.5/3.40 kernel. Note that there are still other kind of newest TA-88 which cannot boot DC at all.
- Gui of both installer and DC itself changed to a xmb looking one.
- Added the option "Test M33" which boots 4.01 M33-2 from the memory stick.
Installation:
- DC iplloader doesn't require to mspformat the memory stick.
However, in some memory stick it may still be necessary.
Just run the program and if you find an error at 99%, run mspformat and try again.
- Copy DC6 to PSP/GAME/
- Download Sony 4.01 update eboot and copy it to ms rootwith the name 401.PBP
- If you have a PTF custom theme set, quit it before running the program.
- Use the app under a 3.x/4.x kernel. The program may not work in versions prior to 3.03 OE.
- IF timemachine is installed in this memory stick, the program will ask you at the end which button(s) you want to boot DC6, otherwise no buttons will be necessary.
- Now you have an universal pandora ms ready to go, and you just need a proper
battery. If you have 1.50 kernel access, use c+d tool. Otherwise, use corly149 tool.
Battery and ms will work on all psp except the very latest ta-88.
Unbricking:
- Select the desired optin in the menu (Install 4.01 M33, Install 4.01 OFW, etc)
- Nand operations-> nand restore currently performs a physical nand dump
This proccess is very dangerous, and you should *just* use it if it's your
last chance to get it working.
This is a physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% exact clon of the dump.
If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.
If while you are restoring your psp have got any damaged block more than
when you dumped it, you might also get a brick, depending on what block is it.
If you want to boot the recovery mode of the 4.01 M33 of the memory stick, boot
the psp with R+the key used to boot DC6 (if any).
----
Note: If you are gonna use the memory stick to restore a psp other than the one that created it,
check if the file /TM/DC6/act.dat exists in the ms. If it exists, remove it, otherwise the restored psp may not be able to buy psn games until the user doesn't delete from flash2 the act.dat of the other psp. (act.dat files are unique for each psp).
Note that act.dat will be restored to the moment of the MS creation.
If you have bought other PSN game later, the act.dat file may have changed and if you restore the old one, you may loose the latest bought game.
Backup flash2:/act.dat each time after you buy something from the PSN!

US venture BroadQ LLC unveiled a software application that enables the PlayStation 2 (PS2) to play video content on the Internet at "Building Blocks 2008," a content- and technology-related event that is taking place in San Jose, Calif.
The company demonstrated the software, "Qtv," for the first time at the event, it said.
In 2002, BroadQ released "QCast for the PlayStation 2," another software application that enables the PS2 to play content (image, video and music files) that users have stored on their PCs and other devices. To develop Qtv, the company redeveloped QCast from scratch, adding the capability to play Internet video, etc, it said.
"The PS2 has sold 125 million units all over the world, continuing to sell even now," BroadQ said. "We consider the PS2 as an influential hardware platform,"
Qtv can process up to 720p resolution videos, supporting video encoding technologies including MPEG2, FLV (Flash Video), H.264 and DivX. To make the software support those video encoding technologies, BroadQ employed a technology developed by CoreCodec Inc of the US.
The Qtv system uses a server run by BroadQ along with the software on the terminal side. Using this server, the software can download and build up necessary metadata through online video distribution services and make Qtv display information on available online videos.
In addition to these capabilities, users can customize Qtv. For example, while using API (application programming interface) available from online video distributors, users can set keywords related to their favorite videos on the Website run by BroadQ. Using the company's system, users can choose and display videos related to those keywords on their terminals.
BroadQ is planning to release Qtv at US$49.95 sometime around fall 2008. Also, it is planning to disclose and sell its software applications for mobile phones and PCs at the same time. In addition to selling the software by itself, the company is considering incorporating its software applications in set top boxes and other items manufactured by other companies.
A menu screen that allows users to select from available Internet video services

Post at Insert Credit :
BarryH found that Gamekult has archived the Landstalker PSP art, which I will also now archive, just in case. As you can see, it was meant to come out in 2006, so...it's pretty likely that it's canceled. The only other shown products of this venture were a looping video of a mountain redone in 3D, and a large diorama at TGS, which was pretty neat.
Shame it was never made. In case you didn't know Landstalker was a great game on the Genesis/Mega Drive, the same team went on to make its spiritual successor Darksavior for the Saturn

European PS3 owners should be able to download a free demo of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 tomorrow, Eurogamer has been told.
Electronic Arts wasn't immediately able to confirm whether the demo will also be released on Xbox Live, or what's in it, but we'll let you know when we hear back.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 offers coaching from Hank Haney, a Club Tuner for tweaking your sticks and four-player online games.
PS3 and 360 owners also get to compete for longest drives and things like that, while the Wii version has motion-sensor controls.
The full game's due out on PS3, 360, Wii, PS2 and PSP on 29th August in Europe.

After revealing special Trophies a couple days ago for the "survivor mode" in the PS3 port of BioShock, developer 2K Marin finally saw fit yesterday to explain what the new setting is all about. The wait was definitely not worth it as the PS3 "exclusive" mode isn't much more than a very hard difficulty level for the game.
2K's BioShock site, The Cult of Rapture, explains that in survivor mode there are no extra enemies, but the citizens of Rapture are tougher and deal more damage. Vita-Chambers will also provide less EVE back when dying, so there is some penalty. Players are also expected to take their time in the new mode and learn to utilize some of the "hardly-ever-bothered-with-'em" plasmids like Target Dummy and Enrage. All this secrecy over an extra difficulty mode was just so contrived. 2K, would you kindly never do that again?

The God of War himself will soon find himself under new employment as Super Awesome Sackboy Superstar. The official US PlayStation blog has revealed that there are plans for five separate LittleBigPlanet pre-order bonuses in North America, depending upon where you reserve the game (a key detail that has yet to be revealed). Here are the bonuses:
- The Official "LittleBigPlanet Creator" MiniGuide by Brady Games
- A LittleBigStickerBook, which is -- shocker -- a sticker book
- LittleBigPouch, a burlap sack reportedly big enough to at least fit a copy of LBP
- An exclusive Nariko (of Heavenly Sword fame) SackGirl
- Exclusive Kratos (God of War) SackBoy
Sure, the exclusive SackPeople are nice, but we're willing to bet those will eventually arrive as premium downloadable content or recreated/shared via the LBP community. We'll take two pre-orders for the decidedly more tangible LittleBigPouch, wherever that reserve bonus may end up.

SOCOM: Confrontation will be hitting North American stores and the Playstation Network on Oct. 14 for $40 to $60, depending on the bundle you choose.
The SOCOM folks broke down the bundle options on their site a bit earlier today and it looks an awful lot like the options Warhawk gamers were given. While they haven't yet nailed it down, the team hopes to have the game hit the rest of the world at the same time.
And now for your choices:
- $59.99 SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (Bundle Version)
- Includes SOCOM Confrontation, a newly designed Bluetooth® Headset for the PLAYSTATION®3 system and exclusive Behind the Scenes videos.
- $39.99 SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (Stand Alone Version)
- For all of the people who want SOCOM: Confrontation on a disc. Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos.
- $39.99 SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation on the PlayStation Network
- SOCOM Confrontation downloadable from the PSN without ever leaving you couch. Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos.

Yes, Believe it, I was on the Dark-Alex IRC and I saw DC6 came out and is on the site right now. You can now install the version 4.01 M33-2, and this fixes some TA-88 crashing because of 1.5/3.40 kernel. But the rest is on the readme
Changes in version 6
Download Official 4.01 Eboot Here
Download DC6 Aand enjoy

Thanks to a strong software lineup led by Metal Gear Solid 4, Tokyo-based Konami has posted strong sales and profit figures for the first quarter ended June 30.
MGS4, released on June 12, drove quarterly revenues of 70.8 billion yen ($654.3 million), up 16.7 percent from Q1 2007's 60.7 billion yen, the company said Tuesday.
Operating income was 11.6 billion yen for the quarter, up 65.6 percent.
The PlayStation 3-exclusive MGS4 had a worldwide simultaneous release during the quarter, shipping over 3 million units day one.
Konami called sales of the game "sensational."

The PlayStation 3 has churned out some great-looking games, but Naughty Dog co-lead designer Richard Lemarchand says Sony's Edge toolset will unlock the true potential of the Cell processor.
"There's a set of tools called Edge that were developed on the Naughty Dog premises, actually, by a group of very, very senior games programmer, some from Naughty Dog and some from elsewhere," Lemarchand told ThreeSpeech.
"...That's why we think we're probably only using 30 or 40 percent of the power of the PS3 right now, and there's this great, untapped potential."
Lemarchand called the tools "low-level libraries" and said they are available for free to third-party developers.
