Tested on 5.00m33-4 on a psp phat
This application removes and back-ups certain files in flash0. currently, it installs, unistall the location free
player, the dic folder and unistalls the camera feature located in the xmb thus
saving you approximatley 3mb so far.
Installation
copy Flash Spacer V2.5 to PSP/GAME
this will work in any of the game folders and will now create and restore back-ups.
this should also run the slim, but with any programs that access the flash beware.
Controls:
(x) - Back-Ups the location free player and them removes it.
[R]- Restores the Loaction Free Player Back-Up.
/\ - Backs-Up the dic folder and then removes it.
[L] - Restores a backed up dic folder
[] - removes the camera function, no back up is made
[Start] - Exits
known bugs:
this will not back-up the camera_plugin. im working on a fix
if a back-up is non-existant, Flash spacer will act if one is present and continue with commands. nothing
will be flashed
Further info:
in future releases, you may end up with a semi-brick by flashing a corrupt file.
if this happens, go to the recovery menu, retrieve the back-up from ms0:/PSP/GAME/Flash Spacer
V2.5/Back-Up
and restore it to its original location in the flash.
Transferring back-ups from previos releases:
if you have made backs-ups from previous flash spacers, you can transfer the back-ups.
this is done by:
1) making a Back-Up folder in the folder as the EBOOT.PBP
2)inside the Back-Up folder make a further folder, depending on which you want to restore.
if you want to restore the Location Free Player, make a folder called LFP and place the back-up FILES
inside it.
Restoring functions if back ups are lost.
you will either have to dump a the fw you are running and restore them manually
or you will have to up/down grade the fw.
Changelog:
further new sleek menu
easy to follow selections
improved code
added a function to remove the dic folder.<---the dic folder is used for japenese games. if you try to play a
game or use a function that requires these, the PSP will crash. if you want to play the game, restore the
back-up.
added a function to restore the dic folder.
added a exit method via start.
automatically makes back-up folders.

News/release from corytheidiot1
This project was formally named Lua Extraction GUI. I have changed it because I am going to include basic file management in the next releases. This will now be the official release thread for all future versions of this app.
Changes:
-Extract RAR Files(to local directory)
-Delete Directory(one at a time)
NOTE: This version is untested, but it should work because there aren't to many changes to the basics of the program. I don't have a USB cable at the moment so I can't test it, but I will have a cable tomorrow to test it.

News/release from pedroduarte0
For the many of you who have an Amiga gaming past, you may remember a classic named Cannon Fodder and, of course, its intro tune.
JammerPS2 is an example for the cosMix sound engine I cooked, and it works like a sound sample trigger, using the Dualshock controller buttons to fire up sounds.
I decided to pack it with samples from the Cannon Fodder intro song for you to have something ready to play with, but you can supply your own samples, as long they are mono or stereo WAV files rated at 48000Hz (you may use any other sample rate, like the more usual 44100Hz but the sounds pitch will be higher than normal).
Keep in mind the PS2 is not a computer with virtual memory (only if running linux), so the total space taken by the samples must be at most 32MB (a little less than this actually).
As feedback, I really would like to know from your creations. If you made any sound packs for JammerPS2, let me know and drop some links for downloading your packs.
Get the binaries here (source archive is included), unpack to a USB pen and run with uLaunchELF:
http://code.google.com/p/cosmix/downloads/list
The source repository for cosMix and JammerPS2 is located at GoogleCode (I began to drop Assembla service, at last):

Music games are the hot ticket these days, so to few folks' surprise, Konami is kicking out the jams once again with a new Karaoke Revolution. I'd tell you what the title is, but the developer/publisher didn't seem to be sharing anything of this sort at its recent Gamer's Day event.
The only details we have were stripped from a once-played trailer. We know that the game will include more than 50 tracks from artists such as Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson, the All American Rejects, Incubus and Lady Gaga. The game will also include an enhanced character creation component which will allow you to morph, stretch and generally manipulate the look of your character's face and body through the use of analog sliders. In other words, no more picking from a set of predefined mugs. You'll also be able to customize venues to some degree, though the trailer didn't show this off too much.
And... that's pretty much all I was able to surmise from the trailer. It seems clear that Konami wanted to make sure we knew it was coming without going into too much detail, which is pretty much exactly where we're at. I can say that it's coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii later this year. Hopefully we'll know more about the game before it ships to shelves.

The PlayStation 3 free-roaming superhero game inFamous has been pushed up a month to May, with some impressive pre-order bonuses in store for those willing to put their money down.
Originally scheduled for a release sometime in the month of June, developer Sucker Punch has apparently been working so hard on the game that Sony has pushed the release date up to May 26th. Not content to deliver just a little good news, Sony has also revealed the pre-order bonus items for inFamous. Dropping a deposit at select retailers will give players a chance to get a Gigawatt Blades power; a Reaper gang member costume for PlayStation Home; or early access to the inFamous demo on May 7th, two weeks before it goes live on the 21st.
Looks like Sony has a huge amount of faith in Sucker Punch's latest. Here's hoping it's well-placed.

We realize that New Zealand is like, a bajillion miles away, but we thought we'd bring your attention to a Kiwi-bound PlayStation release schedule, which finally provides a firm release date for Titan Studios' upcoming PSN title, Fat Princess. According to the list, PS3 owners can begin strengthening soul-crushingly negative obesity stereotypes when the game drops June 18. We still don't know whether the States will see a simultaneous release, but it certainly fits nicely within our previously promised summer launch window.

An ArsTechnica "source" -- who has apparently given the site solid intel in the past -- claims Patapon 2 won't have a physical, UMD-based existence when it releases May 5. The game will allegedly be sold on the PSN for $15, with the retail copy, which will be nothing but a PSN redemption code, priced at $20. Customers will also apparently be able to purchase the game through the websites of "certain retailers."
If true, this UMD-less Patapon sequel's invasion appears to be a test run, for not only for digital distribution, but for Dave Perry's anti-UMD PSP2. We've contacted Sony for comment and will update if we hear anything.

Konami's dual-stick arcade-style shooter Zombie Apocalypse will be infecting Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this quarter, the publisher has announced. No, they're not re-announcing Burn Zombie Burn!, it just sounds like it.
The Konami version of dual-stick, arcade-style undead shooting looks to be taken a bit more seriously—minus the teddy bear packed with C4 explosives used to fend of hordes in Zombie Apocalypse. It also looks to have the raw numbers that few press releases can match: 11 weapons, 55 "days" of plays, 7 environments, 4 players, 7 unlockable game modes.

Sony might think the DSi is just for kids, but it's never had any problems pumping out candy-colored PSPs -- and the next hue off the line might be lime green, if this image supposedly leaked from inside a Sony factory is any indication. It's, uh, seasonally appropriate, at the very least -- anyone revved up by this?

Droplitz drops in late spring for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation Network, Windows PC, and iPhone.
About Droplitz

Four unique play modes. Unlimited replayability. When drops start dripping, dials must spin. Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360, PlayStation Network, Windows PC, and iPhone near you. No droplitz were harmed in the making of this game.
Key Features*
Infinitely accessible, instantly addictive -- Turn dials, open paths, and don't let the droplitz go to waste! Casual and hardcore gamers alike will be mesmerized as they rotate and connect puzzle pieces to let the droplitz flow and earn high scores!
Four unique game modes -- Distinct layers of complexity keep the challenge fresh with Classic, Zendurance, Power Up, and Infection modes! Learn how to deal with sluggish, infected dials; strategically use bombs to clear sections of the game board; speed up the action or just aim for the highest score in a limited amount of time.
Endless replayability -- The timeless satisfaction of making combos, clearing boards, and earning top scores will keep you coming back for more. Ever increasing speeds and larger boards ensure that there will always be a challenge ahead!

MaTiAz has done it again. The PSP scene has a new exploit. It is only for Fat PSP's as of now, but a Slim version is on the way. Homebrew for the 3000? We will have to wait. MaTiAz says:"I'll just quote the readme:
Hello World for PSP firmware 5.03
The days of TIFF based exploits aren't long gone, at least not yet
Here's the third TIFF exploit for the PSP, enjoy.
Just copy the files to the memory stick root, disconnect USB and go to photo menu.
Don't dismiss the exploit even if it doesn't work on the first time, it's *very* unstable.
You might get it working on the first time, but you might as well have to try it 20 times!
The h.bin is loaded to 0x08800000, and the text address of paf.prx is passed in $a0 to the
binary code. You can then trick out function imports, like for example sceDisplayWaitVblankStart:
sceDisplayWaitVblankStart = (void*)(paf_addr+0x15F068);
This release works _only_ on fat PSPs. The slim version will come out later.
I'm not gonna include a list of credits here, I'll just forget some important names and then
I'll be screwed :P The people who need to be credited will know it anyway.
Have fun!
P.S. Just wait a few days, there's a bit of awesomeness coming up.
- MaTiAz"
Edit:
Here is the correct h.bin. An understandable mistake. MaTiAz quoted:
"Yeah, the release was messed, I put the wrong h.bin there. It's fixed now, redownload it Thanks for pointing it out." Download and Give Feedback Via Comments

Alex_e a beginner developing PSP, we propose a small application that will appeal to beginners without doubt that PSP would make a little space on the flash0 without too much manipulation to flash themes, PRX module, etc. ..
Spacer flash V1-Location Free Player installed and a backup safety in PSP / GAME / Flash Spacer V1/Back-Up.
Important, do not change the folder structure Spacer Flash if you want to be able to restore your backup.
- Tested on PSP Fat 5.00 M33-4.
If you are a beginner, make sure you have a method for your console reflasher Custom Firmware before touching the Flash0.
Update: Version 2 available, here is the changlog:
- Added a function to remove the camera function.
- Recast of the menu.
- Fixed a bug that could make a backup only if flash spacer was placed in PSP / GAME, this is now corrected, it now works in any game files.
As usual, this could cause a brick if they screw up, make sure you have an alternative in case of total or partial brick.

Tired of blasting your way through the same Helghan maps over and over again in multiplayer? You're in luck, because Guerrilla Games is bringing new downloadable maps for players. On a recent episode of Gametrailers with Geoff Keighley, Hermen Hulst, Managing Director of Guerrilla Games mentioned that the designers are planning that the first map pack will be called Steel and Titanium, and will be set aboard two large vehicles. The first one is set aboard the ISA tech cruiser New Sun, and will feature multiple decks that you can use to shell players below you. The other map is set aboard twin moving Helghast trains, and players will fight their way from one train to the other. While you can leap from one train to the other side at any time, you have to be careful, because you can accidentally collide with environmental objects or fall to your death.
Hulst mentioned that these were designed because they were two sections that were fan favorites, and mentioned that there was "definitely more to come." Specifically in regards to the second map pack, he did mention that the word retro features prominently within the pack. Keighley asked if that could possibly mean Killzone 1, and Hulst responded positively, stating, "You got it!" Steel and Titanium is scheduled to come out at the end of April.
