New from SuccessHK
High durability
Switch from XB360 to PS3, and vice versa
Small enough to be used anywhere
This HDMI selector cable allows you to freely choose between XB360 and PS3. With simply a press on the button, you can enjoy the different visual effects of XB360 and PS3. The cable is 1 meter long, which is surely long enough for use in living room with the Plasma or LCD TV. One more notable feature is that it does not need any battery to operate.

The University of Wolverhampton has begun a programme in conjunction with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to offer its students access to professional PlayStation Portable development tools.
Through the PlayStation Portable Academic Development Programme, university staff and students will be able to use the same professional development hardware and software tools available to commercial studios.
"This technology platform that has been made available to us from Sony means that students can now program games and play them on their PlayStation Portable and gain valuable industry skills," commented Stuart Slater, director of the Institute of Games and Animation. "We are very happy that the university will be able to make these available to students in the coming academic year."
Wolverhampton offers a wide range of games and animation courses at its School of Computing and Information Technology and School of Art & Design.

Onkyo's never been one to dabble in the Blu-ray bargain basement, but with BD decks selling for well under the $200 mark, we're wondering what kind of secret sauce is boxed in with the DV-BD507. The outfit's latest Profile 2.0 player doesn't sound too special based on specs alone, as it supports HDMI 1.3a, 1080p output, BD-Live functionality and BonusView features just like every other respectable rival on the market already. Sure, we can't say we don't appreciate its innate ability to process AVCHD files stored on SD / SDHC cards or toasted DVDs, but even on a good day we can't justify the $449 MSRP. Maybe it's upgradable to 3D... or something. Fancy rear shot is waiting after the break.

Sony will release the DualShock 3 in two new colours over in US this October, according to various US reports.
The 'Deep Red' and 'Metallic Blue' DualShock controllers are yet to be officially dated and are not yet confirmed for a UK release either, but you can always import.
Currently, only the black one is officially available here, though you can find white and silver in the shops if you look hard enough.

NickyP has posted a new beats of rage mod today, heres the release details:
MegaMan is one of my most favorite video game series ever (if not the most favorite), and my single most favorite video game character. I grew up playing those games, and as a grown man I still do. Needless to say, it was almost a pleasure making this mod.
My idea for this mod was inspired by the MegaMan: Power Battle/Fighters games for the arcade. I had always wished they were 3 or 4 players instead of 2, so the original plan was to just make a remake of Power Battle/Fighters and have 4 player support. However, my love for everything 8-bit kicked in, and that's when I decided I would instead remake all of the NES MegaMan games, with Power Battle/Fighters inspired gameplay. The result is, well, what you're about to play in a few minutes!
~Gameplay~
As I've stated above, this mod's gameplay style gets its inspiration from the MegaMan Power Battle/Fighters games. So, those who have played those games before will know exactly what to do.. to those who haven't: this is basically an arcade-style boss rush game.
Initially the game will appear to only be for two players. To add more, simply go to Options -> System Options to change the max amount of players!
~Controls~
This mod uses the attack1-4, special, and jump buttons.
A description of what each does:
Attack1 - Fires normal buster shot
Attack2 - Summon a helper (more on this soon)
Attack3 and Attack4 - Dodge (you can also dodge by pushing Forward twice and Attack1)
Special - For most characters, this will preform a charge shot.
Remember to set these controls in Options->Control Options->Setup Player #!
PSP users: Simply use the eboot I have provided in .rar. Place MPW1.pak into PSP/Game/MMPW/Paks
PC users: I hope you have a controller. If not, and you are forced to play this game with a keyboard, I sincerely apologize for all of the frustration you will soon endure.
~Characters~
There are 5 characters to choose from. Below is a list of them and a description:
-MegaMan-
The butler-turned-hero robot created by Dr. Light, who has saved the world on numerous occasions. His Special is a charge shot. His Helper is Rush.
-ProtoMan-
Created by both Dr. Light and Dr. Wily, and is also MegaMan's older brother. His Special is a charge shot. His Helper is Beat.
-Bass-
MegaMan's rival, and created by Dr. Wily specifically to be just that. His Special is a charge shot. His Helper is Treble.
-Duo-
A mysterious robot from space that landed on Earth, he claims he's on a mission to destroy "evil energy" throughout the universe. His Special is a charge shot that does more damage that the other characters, but it has very limited range. His Helper is Eddie.
-Gray-
A mysterious young reploid that was in hibernation in an abandoned laboratory. After being awakened by a sudden attack, he acquired the legendary Biometal Model A. With Model A and his A-Trans ability, Gray is determined to unlock his hidden past and, ultimately, save the world. His Special is a homing missle that will make him jump backwards. His Helper is Tango.
~Helpers~
Each of the characters are assigned a Helper that can be called on with Attack2. Below is a list and a description of them:
-Rush-
MegaMan's faithful dogbot. When called, Rush will become the Jet Adapter and attach to MegaMan. While in Jet MegaMan form, MegaMan's Special becomes the Super Arm, a weaker but quicker attack compared to the charge shot. Also, by pressing the Jump button again in the air, MegaMan will be able to preform a double-jump. And while Jet MegaMan form, he cannot be knocked down. MegaMan can revert to his normal form only after losing a life, so choose wisely!
-Beat-
MegaMan's birdbot, given to him by Dr. Cossack. When called, Beat will immediatley fly to the enemy and stay ontop of them, constantly causing damage. After a short period of time, Beat will disappear. Beat is also the ONLY Helper that can be called on in the air.
-Treble-
Bass' dogbot, and possibly Rush's rival. When called, Treble will immediatley fire a charge shot, and then disappear.
-Eddie-
A cargo transport robot created by Dr. Light to send MegaMan supplies. When called, Eddie will throw a bomb forward, then disappear.
-Tango-
MegaMan's catbot, only seen in MegaMan 5 for the Gameboy and Rush's playmate. When called, Tango will cough up a razor blade hairball that has boomerang-like movement, and then disappear.
Keep in mind that calling a Helper will drain the MP bar (located under your Life bar). Different Helpers cost a different amount of MP to call, so use them wisely!
~OpenBOR Version~
Because this uses some script, I recommend you use version 3.2252 or higher. It should work fine on all later versions as well. PSP users just use the version I have provided in the .rar
~Tips~
-Is your game lagging a lot when you fire buster shots in the air? Then go to Options -> System Options and disable File Logging.
-Learn to know when to dodge. Dodging recklessly may make you crash right into an enemy attack!
-Just like in all the other MegaMan games, each boss has a particular pattern. Find that pattern, and think of a way to take advantage of it!
-Don't be too quick to switch to Jet MegaMan. While you gain more maneuverability, you also lose your charge shot, which has much more range than the Super Arm. Gauge the situation, and fight appropriatley!
-While you're charging up a charge shot, you can't move. So, plan them accordingly!
-Certain characters are just plain better to use against certain bosses. If you happen to lose all your lives and still have a continue, think about who you might want to use instead.
-Keep in mind that for each extra person playing the game, a boss's max amount of health increases. The more people you play with, the harder the game is!
Everything in the spoiler tab should explain everything. And yes, if you're wondering, I will be continuing this series (each episode representing a game in the MegaMan series).
Enjoy, everyone!

bisoft is expecting sales of Assassin's Creed 2 to be 15 per cent higher than the first title, primarily due to the release of the sequel on Sony's PSP.
The original game sold over eight million units worldwide according to Ubisoft's last count in April 2009. As well as releasing on the additional format, the publisher revealed a game and PSP hardware bundle is also due at retail in time for the November release.
"Following the strong showing of Assassin's Creed at E3 and the current buzz, we now think the game should be selling around 15 per cent more units than the first title," stated Alain Corre, executive director for Ubisoft, in a conference call yesterday.
"Our previous guidance suggested it was going to sell less units than the first title. Most of this performance actually comes from the addition of one platform, the PSP, of which Assassin's Creed was not released in the past. Half of this performance is done with guaranteed bundles," he added.
Pre-orders from retail are already impressive, according to CEO Yves Guillemot, who revealed interest is out-performing the heavily-hyped original game.
"Assassin's Creed 2 pre-orders are much higher than the previous title and the game is really coming along very well," he said.

Sony has told Eurogamer that images of pre-paid European PSN cards are Photoshop jobs - rehashed pictures of US cards with a Euro currency symbol stuck on top.
"Those PSN cards are US images altered to have the Euro sign," said a SCEE spokesperson, referring to the pictures on Kotaku.
"I have no details on Euro PSN cards I'm afraid," the spokesperson added.
Pre-paid cards provide people without credit or debit cards access to PSN funds to purchase games, add-on content, films and telly shows.
Rumour has it that they will be available in €20 and €50 sums and launch with the PSPgo in October. The PSPgo, remember, has no UMD drive and so relies solely on downloaded content.

This game's objective is simple: you have to count all the cars that pass. If you manage to count them all you will pass level, and if not you'll have to re-start the level. This is a demo version and it only has 3 levels. The first two levels are easy and the third one is very hard xD! I hope you like it and the not-demo version will be here soon.

In addition to PsOne games, Japan has TurboGrafx-16 titles in their PlayStation Store. We confirmed with Hudson emulated TurboGrafx-16 games are coming to North America too.
No specific titles were confirmed, but I would bet on Bomberman, Bonk, and the “Crush” pinball games. Four games have been released in Japan so far: Bomberman ‘94, New Adventure Island, Sengoku Mahjong, and Devil’s Crush.
Each download is PlayStation 3 and PSP compatible so you can take Bomberman and (fingers crossed) Air Zonk on the go.

News/release from bosshunter
This here is an utility that I coded myself.
For those who don't know what it is, this is the patch that you need to install in order to play ISOS, PSX games and specially to improve stability to IrShell.
Note 1: This patch is only working on CFWe 3.50 version and below. With CFWe 3.60 you can still play ISOS but the PSX games won't work.. (The game could not be started. (800200E5))
Note 2: It is only for firmwares 5.03 on PSP 2000 or 3000. (Tested on both. Phat not supported as you can install CFW on it)
Note 3: This utility touches a file installed by CFWe in flash0 so USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Note 4: If something goes wrong while the prx is patching the file (ex: PSP turns off cuz of low battery) and CFWe is no longer loading, you can always reinstall the CFWe and run the patch again.
Make sure you have:
- IrShell 5.0 installed.
- A fresh install of CFWe (if you have done my other tutorial, you'll have to reinstall CFWe to run this utility).
- Plugins in game.txt are disabled (If not you'll probably get a black screen when running the prx. Just do a hard reset if this happens. Then enable ChickHen, run CFWe and try the patch again after disabling the game.txt plugins. Kinda looks like a pain but.. You only need to run this once!).
- Replaced the provided IRSHELL folder in your memory stick.
Instructions: (same as the old IrShell patches)
- Run IrShell
- Open Directory View and go to ms0:/IRSHELL/PATCH/5.03/
- Run btcnfpatch.prx
- Press X to start patching
- Wait a few seconds and you're done (you should see the following screenshot on your PSP if the update is successful).
- You can now re-enable your plugins in game.txt.

News/release from junkfactory
What the hell is it?
It's a little CFW plugin for m33 that let's you assign key combinations to launch your favorite homebrews from the XMB
What does it do?
By configuring shortcuts.conf, you can assign virtually all (well depends on how many combinations you can make and your fingers can handle) your homebrew apps, ISO/CSO game or the UMD game or even pops games (not tested) to any combination of buttons you choose. Then from the XMB, you push those combinations and hopefully the assigned homebrew/game starts. No more XMB navigation.
Installation?
1. Download the package
2. Extract them to your ms0:/seplugins folder
3. Read the notes in shortcuts.conf file (this is very important otherwise you will not get it to work if not configured correctly) and configure/assign keys to your apps/games.
4. Put this like in your vsh.txt ms0:/seplugins/homebrew_shortcuts.prx 1
5. Push the buttons and watch your homebrew run
Thank you to the pspsdk creators who opened up the PSP to some lowly nut like me.
Special thanks to Dark_Alex for M33 modules
