In Spider-Man 3, players draw upon Spider-Man's completely revamped combat abilities as they protect the city and defeat nemeses using expanded aerial fighting, finishing moves and dynamic webbing during missions and epic boss battles.

In his 2007 state of the industry report, our favorite analyst suggests that motion picture studios and not we, the gaming public, will ultimately decide the winner of this round of the console wars. Wedbush Morgan's Michael "Really Needs a New Headshot" Pachter speculates that with many of the same titles, the 360 and the PS3 will be battling it out on the DVD front, and he's got his money on Blu-Ray for the win.
As an owner of both a PS3 and now the 360 HD-DVD player (happy birthday to me), I can tell absolutely no difference between the two, so yeah - essentially it would come down to which format gets what movies.
As an aside, you think analysts put side bets on their predictions? Someone should write a suspense novel about an analyst who bets all he has on a company's downfall prediction, and then has to sabotage it to try keep from losing it all. I'll take a special thanks credit.
Anyway, Pachter's prediction for the console wars are Sony with 36% of the market, Nintendo with 34%, and Microsoft with 30%. It's a lovely everybody wins scenario that will drive console fanboys bonkers. Go Pachter!

If you change the Resident Evil 2 Slus code to : (SLPS-01222) it will no longer freeze at the police station and sound errors are fixed
Awesome news
I have tried this myself and can confirm it definatly works
This fix has also got Dino Crisis 2 working amounst others.
If someone would please start a official thread of code changes to get games working that would be great

News/release from Carboycam:
I have recently been experimenting with the various Customisations around for Dark_AleX's OE Firmwares, or more specifically, 3.40 OE-A. And I read about the font colour hack. But, when this Customisation is installed, your GAME150 Homebrew becomes corrupt. So I have prepared a fix... PatchSFO for 3.XX OE...
This Homebrew Application is based on the PatchSFO tool for the 2.80 xLoader by Noobz.eu. I have edited and compiled two versions of the App. One, for use with the GAME150 folder, on any OE/SE Firmware and a second, for use with the GAME340 folder, on 3.40 OE.
This will fix almost all, if not all, Homebrew stored in the GAME150/340 folder.
My thanks go to Noobz.eu for their source code from the original PatchSFO.
Included in the Download is a README, the two PatchSFO tools, and the Source Code for the PatchSFO tools.

News/release from Luislizard:
XMB Theme Cycler V0.3
Author: LuisLizard
---------------------
This program is designed to work in 3.30/3.40 OE firmware and above, i held no responsability if this program bricks your psp (almost impossible in OE).
---------------------
This program will change your theme everytime you reboot your psp, it has unlimited slots for themes. It can handle all the rco's that can be modified up to now (Please tell me if i'm missing any and i will add support for it).
Installation:
1-Copy all the folders to the root of your memory stick, if you have any other program in /PSP/GAME/BOOT it will be overwritten. If you install it in another folder other than /PSP/GAME/BOOT such as /PSP/GAME150/BOOT and enable the autorun feature, you will not be able to get in the XMB and your PSP will freeze.
-JUST COPY THE CONTENTS OF THIS ZIP TO THE ROOT OF YOUR MEM STICK.
2-To set it to change your XMB every time the PSP reboots go to recovery mode and enable the Autorun feature.
Usage:
--Hold L button at startup to abort flashing.
--Hold O button at startup to enter configuration.
--In configuration use X to select and up down keys to navigate.
--Everytime you boot your PSP or every month (depending on your setting) a new theme will be flashed.
--To put your own themes simply create a new folder in ms0:/themecycler with the number wich corresponds to it.
--IMPORTANT:
In ms0:/themecycler/ there should be no folders other than the ones wich correspond to your themes.
Heres whats new in this version:
I consider this a big release comparing it to the last one, with this release i provide you with a configuration menu which you can access by holding the O button when the app is starting (please use it, i put a lot of effort in it hehe). In the configuration menu you can choose to have the program show you the flashing status. It can cycle in every restart or every month. Now it automatically flashes the dummy fonts to free space in flash0, and takes a backup of your current theme before starting to cycle themes so you can uninstall the theme cycler and leave your psp as it was, you can flash it at the configuration menu when needed. You can also disable the flasher.
Features:
-- Automatic theme flashing at startup
-- Unlimited slots for saving themes NEW!!
-- Configuration menu
-- Dummy font flashing -- Frees 2.5 mb in Flash0
-- Monthly theme cycling
-- Original theme backup
-- Scripting improvement over last release
Files it can flash: (Requests accepted)
--topmenu_plugin.rco
--opening_plugin.rco
--savedata_plugin.rco
--gameboot.pmf
--system_plugin.rco
--01-12.bmp
--impose_plugin.rco
--premo_plugin.rco
--system_plugin_fg.rco
--system_plugin_bg.rco
--photo_plugin.rco
--game_plugin.rco

This is the second public Alpha of the Serious Sam: TFE mod for Dungeons 3D (called Serious Dungeons), which I'm working on.
It is powered by the latest (currently) Charnold's Dungeons v0.7.04 Engine.
My aim is to make the Serious Sam: TFE clone for the PSP. Dungeons Engine is powerful, but it currently doesn't support some important features to make this mod more likely true SS. So, I'm waiting for the next update...
This is my second mod for Dungeons (you may find Dark Dungeons at the Charnold's site http://www.caweb.de/).
In no way is this to be sold, it is freeware/homebrew.
What's new in v0.5:
- 3 levels with new textures. Now Serious Dungeons features 8 original levels (in the end of the game you finish the story of The First Encounter, so next reliases of the Serious Dungeons will probably combine The First & The Second Encounters of the Mental's aliens!)
- music (from SS)
- again, new HUD health icon :-)
- updated (by Charnold) Dungeons 3D Engine v0.7.04
New features in the previous public reliase (v0.3):
- 5 levels with new textures
- sounds & music from SS
- 3 enemies (not Serios Sam enemies yet (aliens from Serius), just Q3 monsters. Maybe, you'll see Mental's aliens in future...)
- 2 weapons (Q3 Rocket Launcher & Q3 Railgun model with the new green skin)
- changed ballanse - enemies have different health (4, 8 and 12) & weapons do different damage (Rocket - 4, Rail - 8). The game is more difficult, then original Dungeons 0.7, but you may select any level from the menu :-)
- some new gfx
- New bootpicture and sound added to the EBOOT
- EBOOTs for the 1.50 firmware
Instalation:
It's simle. Just copy the PSP folder from this archive to the root of your Memory Stick Duo (apply file rewriting). You don't need any installation of the Dungeons on the MS.
If your firmware is 1.50, you have to find the EBOOTs_for_firmware_1.50 folder in this archive and copy SERIOUS DUNGEONS and SERIOUS DUNGEONS% dirs from it into MS_ROOT\PSP\GAME (apply file rewriting).
For the custom firmwares (Dark_Alex's 2.71 SE or 3.XX OE), you must place SERIOUS DUNGEONS folder into MS_ROOT\PSP\GAME150 dir, but I recommend you to change "Game folder homebrew" to "1.50 kernel" in the Recovery mode and use MS_ROOT\PSP\GAME folder for homebrew (and place Serious Dungeons into MS_ROOT\PSP\GAME)
Enjoy! ;-)
Thanks to:
Charnold for the amazing homebrew engine & all Dungeons modders - Frack, Drew Medina, VettaCrossX, ELDom ;-)
Croteam for the Great Serious Sam: TFE game & Serious community ;-)
Id Software for the Godlike games & awesome models & all Id-games fans & Quake-Community ;-)
Dark Alex for the amazing custom fimware and downgraders & all other PSP-hackers, who made higher firmwares support Homebrew ;-)
All PSP Community, especially PSP-Coders for their PIMPing originally very specialized Device! ;-)
DCEmu - the emulation Planet, PSPUpdates.QJ.net, PS2DEV forum, PSP-HACKS.com, PSPPlayground... Everyone - GL! ;-)

Battlejewels is a combination of a classic puzzler (jewel matching) with head to head combat (think street fighter or somesuch) based on a simple RPG engine (gather gold, buy gear, level up.)
(Greetz Wraggster et al .. been too long old friend
This is a quick 'debug test' port from my GP2X alpha-3 version; it should play pretty well, though save-game and a couple other things are still goofy.
Since its a quick job and baby is about to wake up, you'll have to get the manual from the website Its a plain kxploit style binary right now so should be trivial to install for anyone using DAX's custom firmware or an eboot-loader.
http://www.codejedi.com/battlejewels
Let me know how it goes.. if you get any crashes, that sort of thing. Hope you like it even in this early port

Fanjita, a PSP hacker is taking a break from the scene (edit by wraggster)
It seems that various events in my life mean that I won't be able to spend as much time on PSP projects as I would like for the near future.
For one thing, my wife is expecting our first child (yay!), and there's a LOT of preparation to be done - not to mention more things that I need to help out with around the house.
And it's not just time, but money that's in short supply. Since PSP development doesn't pay any bills, I've been having to do some web development work.
The first project is a simple web page for my wife's business, which is producing handmade greetings cards. If you need a special card for a birthday or special occasion, or maybe some wedding stationery that's
sure to make an impression, why not check out www.august-design.co.uk.
The second project is still under wraps, but I'll maybe speak more about it here when it's unveiled properly.
I'm sure the PSP scene will continue quite happily without me for a few weeks, and of course, the other members of Noobz will still be merrily hacking away in the meantime. via Fanjita.org
Congrats on the new baby Fanjita

In 1996, the original Tomb Raider was launched. The 3D game design, controls and graphics were truly ground breaking for their time. Furthermore, gamers were also presented with a unique, female human playable character with whom they could become emotionally attached, Lara Croft. The original Tomb Raider sold over seven million copies and is still heralded as an absolute classic and one of the best action adventure games ever. Tomb Raider defined the PlayStation and changed the way that people played games.
In tribute to this and to celebrate and commemorate the continuing development of the Tomb Raider franchise and its central character, Crystal Dynamics are developing a new Tomb Raider adventure for Lara. Inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game; Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary faithfully preserves the elements which made the original Tomb Raider game such a classic.
Using an enhanced ‘Tomb Raider: Legend’ game engine, the graphics, technology and physics bring Lara’s adventure and pursuit of a mystical artefact known only as the Scion right up to today’s technology standards and will offer gamers a completely new gameplay experience.
Tomb Raider follows the adventures of Lara Croft after she is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. After discovering that she has been used as a pawn in some larger scheme, Lara takes matters into her own hands deciding that she must uncover the mystery behind this ancient artefact.
FEATURES
* Celebrate and commemorate ten years of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, an entirely new gameplay experience inspired by the first ever Tomb Raider adventure. Tomb Raider: Anniversary uses an enhanced version of the Tomb Raider: Legend game engine to apply Crystal Dynamic’s latest PS2 technology.
* Play the living Lara Croft, the world’s greatest action heroine of all time – use all of Lara’s guile, athleticism and gadgets in her quest to conquer the unknown and uncover ancient artefacts.
* Includes classic environments from the original Tomb Raider as never experienced before – Crystal Dynamics latest technology allows you to fluidly manoeuvre Lara using her latest moves and gear, through all the worlds from the original; Peru, Greece, Egypt and more. The dynamic world allows multiple playthrough options and also opens up new places and ways to explore. Crystal’s latest technology allows the environments to take on a breath taking new quality.
* Explore uncharted and mysterious worlds – enter into strange, undiscovered lands and solve their deepest, darkest mysteries, open doors to new realms, uncover great rewards and unearth secrets to Lara’s past.
* Startling enemy encounters – encounter fierce animal and supernatural enemies, wolves, bears, crocodiles, horrific monsters and the T Rex. New and improved AI means that all enemies will exhibit a more diverse behaviour set, providing improved combat challenges for the player.

For those who have missed it Strmn Nrmn is to released a new version of his excellent Nintendo 64 Emulator for the PSP. Up until now the releases have been good but the killer breakthrough had not arrived that is until now, the fixing of a Dynarec issue will see a lot of games running at a solid 25FPS or more, heres a reminder of the key points from last nights newspost:
Finally I realised that there was a dynarec issue which was preventing Super Smash Bros from going in-game. Although that's not fixed (that's something for R12) I have disabled dynarec for SSB by default. With my various texture cache fixes SSB is now running in-game, albeit with messed up graphics and at just 15 fps. Here's a teaser screenshot of SSB running in R11:
If I can fix the dynarec issue it looks like this is going to run at a solid 25-30fps or more.
-StrmnNrmn
