The previous rumours are true - Star Ocean 4 is on the way, officially confirmed at the Square Enix Party press conference which took place in Japan moments ago.
Square Enix wasn't giving away too much, though; no gameplay details were revealed and the platform and release date remains unspecified.
Development is being handled by Tri-Ace, which also took care of the previous PS2 game, Till the End of Time.
Square also revealed that it's working on remakes of Star Ocean First Departure and Star Ocean Second Evolution, the first two games in the series, for PSP.
We'll be bringing you more on the Square Enix Party this weekend, where we'll be raiding Square's drinks cupboard, draining all the vodka and throwing the TV remotes into the garden next door after puking in the living room.

Sony has told CVG this morning that it currently has no plans to release pre-paid PlayStation Network cards in Europe.
Unless you're packing plastic, you won't be able to download and buy things from PS3's PlayStation Store.
In Japan the solution is to offer consumers the chance to buy a pre-paid top-up card form a number of retail outlets that'll give you a code to enter via PS3 to get hold of your funds.
We spoke to Sony this morning and were told, "We have no plans to release the PSN cards in Europe at this time."
If we remember correctly, a similar issue arose when Xbox Live first launched in Europe. You needed a credit card during the sign-up process for security reasons. People who didn't have access to one were a bit stuck as far as getting on Microsoft's online gaming service was concerned.
Fingers crossed Sony Europe comes though.

Ahead of this weekend's media bash in Japan Square Enix is holding a press conference right about now... and here are the first images to emerge from the event of its new next-gen RPG The Last Remnant.
Thanks to a sever lack of Japanese skills (we've got Jackson on the job) we don't know much about the game yet, except that it's heading to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the near future.
It's excellent news for 360 owners of course, who so far have only seen a rough port of the online-only Final Fantasy XI grace Microsoft's box.
The screenshots as well are looking particularly fantastic - but we'll hold off on our gushing until we find out exactly what The Last Remnant is all about.

Hi,
while technically, this has been possible for a few months. it has been a very undercover and complex procedure to follow. Basically, Tyranid has comitted a stunning new version of his PSP remote control software RemoteJoy into the development branch of the PSPDEV repository. and it allows full remote control of a PSP -- including the transfer of the display screen to your PC. Yes, it also works with (some) games, yes it works for the XMB, yes its fast. Yes, it rocks.

Handheld GamerZine goes from strength to strength this month with a host of exclusive games coverage. Starting with the cover feature, a hands-on preview with developer interview, the WipEout Pulse details are going to set a few pulses racing. The details of the in-game engine tweaks and new gameplay features will be sure to please fans of the series.
Harvest Moon fans will also want to check out the exclusive interview with creator Yasuhiro Wada in which he reveals a new Harvest Moon game is planned for next year, and that he believes Microsoft has plans for a portable gaming device, which he would welcome.
Team 17 also lets us sneak in for an exclusive look at the upcoming update of Worms, with details of the new online play and new weapons. Find out what the developers think of the highs and low of the series so far.
That’s not all for the issue either, with reviews of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, SOCOM 2, Burnout Dominator, FF Chocobo and many more.
“Traditionally portable games have been overlooked by the games press,” says Publishing Director, David Taylor. “However, gone are the days when the DS and PSP simply get ports of cut-down versions of console games. Now we have exciting new properties like the Brothers In Arms game for DS in this issue or WipEout Pulse, where the game has been designed from the ground up for the device and gamers are now looking for ways to keep up to date with their favourite games on these platforms. HGZine is a great way to do this, with professionally written features and pages enhanced with video and multimedia.”
HGZine is a GamerZine, digital magazines for gamers, published in PDF format, and written by a team of professional games journalists from the UK. Readers simply require a copy of the free Adobe Reader ( version 6 or above ) to read the magazines..
HGZine can be downloaded now from: http://www.gamerzines.com/hgzine/

Charnold has posted the Sourcecode of Dungeons 3D Alpha, heres the news:
We need more 3D homebrew games for the psp!
So this could be a starting point for someone:
This is the source code of Dungeons Alpha version (the version with lara's md3 model standing around in level 3 :-) )
- it comes with a MSVC 2003 workspace
- can be compiled for windows and for psp (see psp_includes.h)
- you need sdl to compile and run the windows version ( http://www.libsdl.org/)
If you use the code as it is, then:
- copy the psp eboot to ms0:/PSP/GAME/DUNGEONS/
- copy the data folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME/DUNGEONS/
- ms0:/PSP/GAME/DUNGEONS/data/protokoll.txt must exist

via PCSX2 official forum (check the link for the screens)
movies: 20fps
menus: ~40fps
ingame: ~5 fps (but goes to 30fps with vu skipping)
tested on:
pcsx2 0.9.4
zerogs kosmos 0.96.4
linuzappz cdvd 0.7.0
an unreleased spu2 plugin
Game is extremely stable, all movies work without freezing, and sound is beautiful. I would call it playable if ingame 3d graphics weren't as slow and ZeroGS KOSMOS didn't consume my entire computer resources. If even there existed a fast enough processor (and I assure you, there doesn't), the wall outlet wouldn't be able to supply enough power to run the game in real time (this will be fixed by next official release). It should be noted here that ZeroGS was named after the character in this game due to this very reason.
This is the first dvd9 (dual layer) game to work for pcsx2. Coincidentally, it is also the first dvd9 game to be released on the ps2.
specs:
amd x2 3800
geforce 6600 gt
1.75Gb RAM

Today Crave announced it will publish a videogame based on 2004's cult-hit film, Napoleon Dynamite. The movie is a character study of the wacky citizens of rural Idaho and is one of the most-quoted films of recent years.
Details are so far scarce, but the game will feature fan-favorite characters Napoleon, his brother Kip, Uncle Rico, friend Pedro, and Tina the llama. Hopefully Napoleon will arrive soon to make our wildest dreams come true.

UK developer Team17 has confirmed that it has no plans to create new 3D Worms titles, instead favouring to stick to the franchise's 2D roots.
Speaking to IGN, studio director Martyn Brown said: "We have no current plans for a fully 3D Worms game. Player response has indicated that fans of the series truly appreciate the 2D roots of this title, so we plan to continue delivering great gameplay experiences in this format."
Although there have been several 3D Worms titles - most recently Worms 4: Mayhem in 2005 - the classic destruction gameplay never seemed to work as well compared to 2D editions of the franchise.
