It seems that some PS3 users are running into trouble with Gotham City Impostors, and we're not referring to all the fake Batmen clogging the streets. According to posts on the Gotham City Impostors forums, some PS3 users are unable to unlock the full version of the game. Even after paying for the title, some find themselves stuck with the trial version.
A forum administrator notes that Warner Bros. is working on the issue with Sony and asks that users experiencing the problem respond to this thread with their PSN ID and the country from which they are playing. In the meantime, if you haven't already purchased Gotham City Impostors, we'd recommend waiting until the issue is resolved.

The signs of a good interface aren't always visible. An elegant in-game display susses out the sweet spot between education and economy, making it an art that is often overlooked by design. And when games aim, claim or clamor to be cinematic, life bars and scores tend to be the first things tossed out as distracting clutter. The traditional HUD is fading from view.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier occupies the same fictional space as Call of Duty, adding a glossy veneer to war and sexing things up with tantalizing gadgets. But Ubisoft's take on modern warfare isn't about seeing -- it's about reading. Oh, there's no shortage of cover-based shooting and GET-TO-THE-RPG-ing in here, but those actions are informed throughout by a busy interface. In comparison to many "immersive" blockbusters, you're getting a library and not a pamphlet.
In practice, this means Ghost Recon is about learning to decipher information quickly, and drafting attack blueprints on the fly. Despite being on the action-heavy -- pardon me, streamlined -- spectrum of console games, Future Soldier uses its hologram-heavy premise as an excuse to fill the screen with data. Warning: It requires reading comprehension, which is a rather extravagant demand when some of the most popular games just want you to strap in and see the pretty sights whizzing by.

Early buyers of Namco Bandai’s PS Vita Ridge Racer game at retail will receive paid-for content for free.
At the launch of PlayStation Vita on February 22nd and for a limited time, boxed copies of Ridge Racer will come with a Ridge Racer Gold Pass. This grants access to five new cars, three extra courses, two music tracks and an ‘extended music mix’.
Those who pay to download the game and bypass retail will also receive the Gold Pass, but only if they buy Ridge Racer before March 31st. Those who want the pass at a later date will have to pay €6.99 for it.
In April a Ridge Racer Silver Pass will be available for €5.99 which includes even more DLC for the racing game.
Ridge Racer is the cheapest launch title for PS Vita with an RRP of £19.99, and contains just a handful of initial cars and tracks.
It’s not the first game to use a post-release DLC business model. Last year THQ’s console racer MX vs ATV Alive came with an initial £29.99 price point, but focused on a range of paid-for DLC. The publisher later said this was a noble experiment but admitted it wasn’t a great model for the console market.
Namco Bandai also revealed a Vita app which contains trailers, and a series of demos for its launch titles, including Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen and Touch My Katamari. These games will receive ‘additional free and premium DLC’.

Starhawk's Limited Edition isn't the "pay extra for a huge box" variety, it's the "automatic upgrade on first printing" variety, exclusive to GameStop. If you've pre-ordered it from that store already, congrats!
This exclusive version comes with extra DLC, including the "Maw of Despair Outcast Pack" (wow, free despair!) with a co-op map and multiplayer skin, the "Echo Scrapyard Rifter Pack" with a new "Homeworld," and another multiplayer skin. You'll also get a PS3 theme featuring Starhawk concept art, a soundtrack and ... oh yeah, a PSOne Classics copy of Warhawk.
If you were going to get this anyway, and especially if you were going to shopthere anyway, this is a pretty great deal. If not, you still have until May to figure out whether it's worth jumping shop.

The latest update for Sony's PlayStation 3 is live and available for download from via your PlayStation Netw...oops, Sony Entertainment Network account. While we get used to the new branding (nothing we could see in the system UI has actually changed at all), there's a few tweaks included in v4.10, like some sorely needed upgrades for the web browser and the ability to set the time and date automatically upon each sign-in. A scan of the forums reveals a few who noticed problems with Netflix post-update (which may or may not be update related, deleting Netflix data from the Game Data utility section and/or installing the newest version seems to fix the issue), however most are just seeing significantly better scores in browser benchmarks like Acid3 and HTML5 Test, better compatibility with most webpages and improved YouTube playback (still 240p). Let us know if you notice any other changes, the system should prompt you the next time you log on for a quick round of Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Sony's launch titles are now available on the US PS Store, one week ahead of the handheld's launch.
TheSixthAxis reports that five games are now listed and, as reported earlier this month, most are slightly cheaper than their boxed equivalents.
Prices range from $9.99 for Super Stardust Delta to $35.99 for WipEout 2048 or Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational. ModNation Racers: Road Trip sits in the middle with a price tag of $26.99.

These games can only be seen on the PS Store via PS3. Reports suggest users can buy them now and transfer them to Vita when the handheld launches on February 22nd.
There is no word yet on whether the games have gone live on the European PS Store.

SCEA has confirmed that the UMD Passport scheme, which lets Japanese users buy Vita licences for their PSP games, will not launch in the US.
Announced last November, UMD Passport is an application for PSPthat allows users to register UMD games to their PSN accounts, and download them to their PS Vita for a nominal fee.
As Giant Bomb notes, it was a confusing system, with wildly fluctuating prices. Not all games were supported, and firstparty titlesPatapon and Gran Turismo cost ¥1,000 (£8.25) apiece, whileEverybody's Golf cost ¥500 (£4.12). It's little surprise, then, that Sony has confirmed that the scheme will not be available to US Vita buyers when the system launches later this month.
"SCEA will not be offering the UMD Passport programme," the company said in a statement. "US consumers who already own digital versions of select PSP titles will be able to seamlessly transfer those games to their PS Vita system.
"More than 250 PSP titles (including Minis) will be available at the launch of PS Vita, and hundreds of additional titles will be available post-launch."
While SCEE declined to confirm whether the same would apply to Europe, it's not looking good, with a spokesperson only telling us: "We haven't made any announcements regarding the UMD Passport programme for SCEE."

Sony's website now lists Japanese release dates and prices for two PS Vita power accessories that you're likely to need. The PCH-ZPC1 J portable charger is a 135g (4.8-ounce) unit that takes seven hours to charge to its full 5,000mAh capacity and is then good for around one and half charges of your console -- we reckon that'd equate to over 12 hours of mixed-use sessions or at least seven hours of solid gaming. It'll be out on April 5th for ¥4,500 ($60). Meanwhile, the PCH-ZCA1 J car charger will hit retailers a couple of weeks earlier on March 22nd priced at ¥1,500 ($20) -- and there's really not much more to say about it except that a dead Vita on a road trip would be both a travesty and an oxymoron. Oh, just in case it hasn't already been etched into your memory, February 22nd is launch day in the US and Europe.

The move toward high-quality HD graphics is detrimental, the creator of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy series has argued.
"Now that high-quality graphics rule supreme, you can reproduce what you want to communicate visually,” Hironobu Sakaguchi stated in a recent Iwata Asks feature.
“But at the same time, I don't know how to put this, but there's an element that's slightly excessive about it all. You end up communicating too much to the player.
“To be honest, I think that the HD images which have become mainstream in the TV industry are, for me personally, still rather over the top for the world of video games. There’s a tendency for developers to allow all their energy to be diverted into maintaining the high quality of the graphics.”
In some ways the comments come as a surprise – Sakaguchi-san is one of the most accomplished visual artists in the games industry, with the Final Fantasy series having offered an incredible assortment of beautiful characters and locations over the years.
On the other hand, the recent release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is only the second ‘proper’ game in the series to appear on HD consoles the Xbox 360 and PS3.
