Practically full speed N64 emulation ?!? - YES
There is a unofficial Daedalus that has began circulating around the internet. Unfortunatley, I was not able to find any information on who actually made it.
This is a Frame skip mod of Daedalus R9, with frame skip enabled !!
Yes, thats right. I've tested this myself (Mario 64), on frame skip 3, and it ran 34 fps outside (and inside) the castle. And once in world 1, it ran a steady 20 - 27+ fps. :O
That was at frameskip 3. You can adjust the frame skip from 1 -10 in options.
This is the fastest Nintendo 64 emulation on PSP so far. So while we wait for the official R10 from StrmnNrmn, this should keep us occupied.

We've had our eye on Burnout Dominator for a while now: it has pretty looks, and features new content made exclusively for PSP and PS2. But, we were worried: maybe the game looks too much like the previous Burnout games? Surely, explosive car gameplay can't get old ... or can it? Let's see what the critics had to say:
IGN (85/100) thinks it ups the ante from previous Burnout titles ... almost: "The racing is just as adrenaline pumping as it's ever been, and possibly even more so than what we saw in Burnout Revenge as you need to be afraid of traffic once again. However, the lack of standard features and modes like Crash are a rather big disappointment."
Gamespot (82/100) doesn't think Dominator revolutionizes the series, but thinks it's still good: "Burnout Dominator is more Burnout, and that's great. It may not have all the newfangled bells and whistles that you'd want from a sequel, but if you're a fan of the series who absolutely must have new tracks as soon as possible, Dominator should satisfy you nicely."
GameSpy (60/100) thinks it's a clear step backwards for the franchise: "Rather than another true entry in the series, Dominator is a simple C-grade mashup."
You've seen the footage, so you should be able to decide for yourself: does this throwback to the earlier Burnout games do it for you? At least one thing's agreed upon by all three of these critics: get the PSP version instead of the PS2. It looks more impressive, and has slightly more functionality than the console counterpart.

New release from nielkie of his Wave Modification app for the PSP:
New version! I have added support for Wave speed, as well as duration and texture strength. (I haven't tested the latter)
There will probably be some problems, because I haven't had time to test it properly (2:30 AM).
Mac version will come when the source code of rcotool gets released.

New from Mr Modchips
The Xecuter PS3 HDXT is a caddy type frame that plugs into the PS3 internally where the 2.5" Sata drive would normally slot. You then clip on the matching faceplate and bingo you now have a clean external Sata connection. No frills and no fuss. You can now add any hard drive you wish and connect it any way you wish. Team Xecuter have also designed a simple but cost effective Sata to IDE converter (this is a separate product)
Main Project Points:
- To be able to add any SATA or IDE Hard Drive externally to the PS3 - so there was no need for any expensive 2.5" Sata Hard Drive upgrades if the need for a very large hard drive was required in the near future.
- To make the adapter a clean design and pleasing to the eye.
- To be simple and cheap
Features:
Connect any 3.5" SATA Hard Drive to the PS3
Developing ability to connect IDE hard drive
Supports up to 750GB (maybe more thats all we have here to test so far)
Switch between external HYPERDRIVE and internal 2.5" HDD
HYPERDRIVE USB2.0 Support to dump data to/from HDD

The hard evidence is starting to flow in that retailers have had about enough from the PS3's 20GB model. A Best Buy employee sent us a printout from their computer system showing the status of the 20GB model as "discontinued." We confirmed the printout information by contacting three separate stores. This does not mean the 20GB PS3 model's production has been discontinued -- just that Best Buy will no longer carry it.
When Joystiq spoke with Sony's David Karraker earlier this week he told us, "Overwhelmingly, retailers have been requesting the 60GB model, the mix has been about 80 percent 60GB, 20 percent 20GB retailer orders." With Best Buy's decision to no longer carry the unit, a major retailer has walked away from the 20GB table, obviously the margins were better on the 60GB model. Sony says they are still producing 20GB models.

THE ULTIMATE SUPER MARIO XMB MOD FOR SONY PSP
*Re uploaded it with the click sounds - my bad
By: Mr. Shizzy (aka psp phd)
VIDEO PREVIEW
PICS:
SPREAD THE WORD
- This is a XMB mod for 3.03 OE-C Custom Firmware only !! As with anything that writes to your PSP's flash, there is always a slight chance of bricking (permanently damaging) your PSP. The password to open the .rar file containing the theme is:
Iagree
By typing "Iagree" and opening the .rar file, you agree that you accept full responsibility for properly installing, and results of installing any and all of the files contained inside. With that said, I have tested this theme on my very own PSP. All worked fine.
**FEATURES**
- 300x170 resolution Mario Bros. Backgound
- All Custom XMB Icons. ( no corrupted submenu icons)
- All custom Mario XMB Click Sounds
- Custom Mario Bootsound, with Custom Boot Text. *PS1 games still work, thats what the 0pening_plugin.rco & game_plugin.prx is for.
- Custom Photo- folder, refresh, and corrupted icons
- Custom Savadata- refresh, corrupted, & Parental Lock icons
- Custom Game - refresh, corrupt, & parental lock icons
- Custom XMB wave, with Mario in it
- Custom Mario Battery Icon
- Custrom Mario Volume Bar
- Custom Font (Tested, does not break PS1)
- Custom Busy (loading circle) icon
**INSTALLATION**
It is recommended that this mod only be installed by advanced users. You need to first clear some space in your flash, or there will not be enough room for the theme files. I suggest using Flash Agent to clear Flash space. Install the files in Flash0, just as they are set up in the .rar file. Make sure you install the game_plugin.prk to "nodule" and not "resource"
**CREDITS**
- Background -PSP-4gb
- XMB Icons - Most of them used from the Italian Flasher's set
- Busy Loading Circle - RaiderX
- Mario Bootsound: JoostyJuice
I made: Everything else

In an interesting interview on the show CEO Exchange (which has not yet aired), Sony Chairman CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, lets loose on a myriad of Sony's challenges and recent failures. Here's a sampling of the more interesting topics that Sir Howard comments on:
- Sony failed to capitalize on the Walkman for domination in the digital music world (they apparently had an iPod and an iTunes equivalent 5 years before Apple, but they weren't software-centric and were scared of digital distribution being one of the world's largest publishers of music).
- HD DVD is a "transitional" technology that is in a losing battle to Blu-ray... they only have one thing going for them: an exclusive with Universal. "Good luck to them."
- The Wii vs. PS3 debate isn't really comparing apples to apples. "Wii is a wonderful device, but has a different target audience. If we fail, it is because we positioned PS3 as the Mercedes of the video game field. PS3 is after a different audience and it can be whatever it wants - a home server, game device, even a computer." The article does not mention arch enemy Microsoft or the Xbox 360.
Hey, Howard, what's with this "If we fail" commentary? Failure is not an option... time to burn the boats. You can read the full article over at Smarthouse.

New from xpack:
i've created a Lua Flasher ... Your thinking "AHHHHHHHHHHH another one" But the thing is this one lets you flash numerous files and you dont have to put them in your root of you memory stick.
It also give you the option to backup your files anytime you want and wont create a backup evertime you run it, thus overwriting your old one and totally ruining the purpose of having the backup's in the first place
If you find anything wrong with it let me know through a PM or contact me at buckum2004@yahoo.com

If you liked the bed-jumping chick from Sony's recent "This is Living" ad, then you'll probably love Sony's new PlayStation themed CONSOUL magazine.
Sony's Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Deutschland, Uwe Bassendowski, took some time away from launching the new magazine in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to describe his new marketing tool: "The PlayStation brand will be shaped with PS3 as high definition home entertainment. With CONSOUL we look directly at the lifestyle of our customers. We address all, the fun of new emerging gadgets, the digital life of the internet, and naturally our outstanding games and films."
The magazine also promises to push the boundaries of good-taste.

When asked: "Do you think that Blu-ray will be as important to the PS3 as DVD was to the PS2, or is it a slightly different scenario?", Harrison was clear in his initial reply: "I think that Blu-ray Disc as a movie format is vital for PlayStation 3, but it's more necessary as a game format."
He continued of the Blu-ray format: "We need that storage space. You know from talking to developers who know what the demands are for next-generation games, in terms of storage space. They are having to compromise on other systems in order to fit their games onto DVD."
The president of Sony's Worldwide Studios organization then commented, in frank style: "I think what the difference between PS2 as a DVD player and PS3 as a Blu-ray Disc player -- and I'm going to get shot for saying this -- but on PS2, we didn't make the best DVD player. On PS3, it's the best Blu-ray Disc player. So that is a big difference."

I loved the original God of War and from what I've played of God of War II, it seems even better than the first, but what can Ready at Dawn (creators of the excellent Daxter) do with God of War on the PSP? Well first of all, I'm just happy that I am getting more God of War this year, so it fulfills my wishes on that level, but I suppose I should have more expectations than that. Here's what I'd like to see in God of War PSP:
New weapons (and if possible some that are as fun as the chain blades)
More powers (how 'bout one that turns enemies into curly fries)
More level spanning boss battles (like the colossus battle)
Keep the epic levels and feel
Orchestrated music (with opera singers if possible, they always sound dramatic)
More puzzles around killing enemies or using their corpses
Co-op (it's all the rage now)
Visuals on par with the PS2 titles
Intuitive controls
But enough about what I want from God of War PSP, what do you want to see Kratos do in his first portable adventure?

Just like the other WWII FPS game on the PSP, Call of Duty has been getting some spectacularly mixed reviews. Who to believe? Are the controls really that great? Are they really that terrible? Message boards across the internet have been producing quite a variety of responses. For once, the critics reviews may not actually inform anyone on the "correct" purchasing decision for this game.
PGNX (88/100) loves the game, although their poorly written review certainly dampens their credibility: "The PSP is not perfectly suited for first person shooters, but this is about as good as it can get."
UGO (87/100) loves the incredibly generous auto-aim: "Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is one of the few must-own titles for the handheld. If you've ever gotten a kick out of picking up a gun and killing evil people in a video game, look no further."
IGN (66/100) hated the controls and the gameplay: "The sluggish and somewhat delayed controls wouldn't be so bad if the gameplay accounted for it, but it doesn't."
