PS-CoverFlow is a mp3 player app that is coded in lua.
Currently the graphics of it are somewhat sleek and nice but next releases are going to have more improvements. it'll be a very nice app in later releases.
installation:
copy all contents of the .rar archive into the game folder. it has to be in ms0:/PSP/GAME or else it will not work properly.
IMPORTANT: you must have at least on image in ms0:/PICTURE/covers/ folder to run the coverflow or else it will not work.
and you must have your music under ms0:/MUSIC
It does read the id3 tags in the player.
TO GET COMPATIBLE ALBUM ART:
you may get album art images from amazon.com and search for your album of the song of you want. then save the bigger image of it, which should 240x240 in size. NOT the small thumbnails.
or you MUST have .jpg images with the size 240x240.
hint on later feature: i will make it be able to just browse music without coverflow.
Instructions:
your album art MUST be the same name as your .mp3 file. (eg. test.jpg for your image if your song is test.mp3)
when your in coverflow you have to use the anolog stick to cycle through your art.

Uberjack has posted news that will delight all emulator fans on the PSP:
While I continue waiting for days on end for my next GameFly rental, I wanted to let you know what’s been going on lately.
First, fMSX 2.5.1 release is coming up tomorrow. This release should fix mostly sound issues, and bring fMSX PSP up to par with the official distribution.
Second, a ColEm release should be around the corner, though it will mostly be a maintenance release.
Finally, it may interest some of you to know that I’m currently trying to implement adhoc gameplay for one (and then many?) of the emulators. Things are going well so far, so here’s to hoping…

If 2006 was the year of the Xbox 360 and 2007 was the year of the Wii, 2008 is shaping up to be PlayStation 3's turn in the spotlight, as it stokes demand in the $19 billion computer gaming industry with some hotly awaited game titles.
Nintendo's Wii outsold Sony's more expensive PS3 console 4-to-1 in Japan this month, but the PS3's maiden victory over the Wii last November showed that under the right conditions, the tables could turn.
Exclusive PS3 titles like puzzle-solving, community-based game "LittleBigPlanet", production improvements that will give Sony room to cut prices, and the recent victory of its Blu-ray technology in the high-definition DVD format war, should drive demand for the games console.
"2008 will be a turning year for the PS3," said iSuppli analyst Pamela Tufegdzic. "Sony is offering a better forthcoming software pipeline with blockbuster titles like "Gran Turismo 5", which will boost PS3 sales this year."

Sony's PS Eye-based motion-tracking system that uses head movements as game controls, and which was recently shown at GDC, was merely a tech demo. This means it is unlikely to be coming to a shop near you soon.
A Sony representative told SPOnG this morning, "We have no details on the tracking software. As far as I'm aware it was developed by someone at SCEA and was shown at GDC as a technical demo of what is possible with the PS3 and PS Eye."

We know that most of you haven't read an instruction manual since the days of Gyromite -- not that we can judge you. Aside from the occasional steamy Sonic the Hedgehog fanfiction, we try to avoid video game literature as well. Lucky for us, IGN recently cracked the narrow spine of the God of War: Chains of Olympus instruction manual and discovered this treat on the back cover -- an advertisement for a new God of War game for the PS3, presumably the third chapter in the series.
While the series' tremendous sales success and God of War II's cliffhanger ending didn't leave much room for doubt that the threequel was on it's way, we didn't think we'd be hearing from our good pal Kratos so "soon" after the release of Chains. Ah, well; no rest for the familicidal, as they say.

We know, we're getting tired of Apple Blu-ray rumors as well -- they're right up there with refreshed Cinema Displays in terms of rumor persistence -- but until Steve and the gang actually shove a drive into a machine we're stuck with them. The latest says that Apple is actively pressing Sony for slot-loading BD-R drives but quality control issues are gumming up the plan. Reportedly, this latest ho-hum MacBook Pro refresh was to feature BD-R drives, but all Sony could muster up were Blu-ray / DVD±RW drives, which Apple refused. That seems a little odd, frankly -- now that the format war is over and the competition's already shipping mid-range laptops with slot-load BD-R drives, you'd think Apple would want to cash in that Blu-ray Disc Association membership card with whoever can supply the drives. As always, we'll see when we see -- it's gotta happen sometime, right?

Time Baby V12f - MP3 Player
Hi Guys,
Here's another Time Baby program release that brngs a more updated mp3 player.
Time Baby is an unofficial program for the Sony PSP 1000 only.
Now I consider this a better interface implementation than iRshell itself.
Not sure how I want to handle the file highlighting yet, but you can see the start of it.
This is still not the last planned update, but here's what's new:
V12f - increased size of mp3 playlist file path buffers to fix overflow problem.
Thanks to Ahman for his PSP implementation of the GNU mp3 player.
For all of Time Baby V12 releases, I have handled the playlist myself.
Donate a 32Mb Memory Stick to see your nickname on the greetings screen!
Download from Rapidshare:

Cheers, Art.

News/release from the ScummVM Site:
ScummVM continues to leap forward in a leap year, and we are pleased to announce the next shiny bugfix release of the project.
As usual, it holds a number of improvements, it's more stable, and it should bring you even more fun than 0.11.0.
We fixed the digital iMUSE system (better COMI experience), King's Quest 4 bugs were squashed, and support for fanmade AGI games has been improved; Lure of the Temptress, Inherit the Earth and I Have no Mouth all work better since we fixed several crashes, lock-ups and all such buzzwords.
As a special bonus we are glad to announce the return of the BeOS port and the deeply missed Playstation 2 port.
ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!
Some of the adventures ScummVM supports include Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Revolution's Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; Wyrmkeep's Inherit the Earth; Coktel Vision's Gobliiins; Westwood Studios' The Legend of Kyrandia and games based on LucasArts' SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more.
Heres whats new:
Ports:
- Revived the PS2 port.
- Revived the BeOS port.
SCUMM:
- Improvements for Digital iMUSE subsystem. This fixes several glitches in The Curse of Monkey Island.
- Fixes for cursors in HE games.
AGI:
- Fix for zombies in King's Quest 4.
- Fix for changing palettes in fanmade games using AGIPAL.
Lure:
- Fixed some conversation crashes in the German version.
- Fixed operation of the optional copy protection dialog in the German version.
- Added saving of conversation flags as to whether a particular conversation option had been previously selected or not.
- Fixed glitch that could cause transformation sparkle to happen a second time.
- Fixed behavior of Goewin when you rejoin her after meeting the dragon.
SAGA:
- Fix for rat maze bug in Inherit the Earth which made game not completable.
- Fixes for Inherit the Earth and I Have no Mouth game startup on a number of platforms.
- Reduced the number of simultaneous open files in I Have no Mouth, to allow it to run on platforms that can keep a limited amount of files open (e.g. on the PSP).
- Fixed graphics glitch in Inherit the Earth with simultaneous speech.
- Fixed palette glitch in Inherit the Earth when looking at the map while at the docks.

When SCEA released God of War II last year, the game's instruction manual teased the soon to be released PSP entry, God of War: Chains of Olympus. Now it's the PSP's turn to toy with your emotions, as the manual for the on-the-go Kratos quest fires back with a tease of the PlayStation 3 chapter. IGN has photographic evidence of the PS3 sequel teaser ad which opts not to put a release window on the thing, merely announcing that it's "coming soon."
Considering rumors are pointing to a 2009 ship date for God of War III and Sony has a habit of showing these games a year (or more) in advance, we'd say that if you want a Kratos fix in 2008, it's probably going to be on UMD.

It's only fair to ask Nokia whether Sony's rumoured PlayStation phone is a threat to N-Gage, and Nokia games boss Jaakko Kaidesoja dealt with the issue head-on today, at an N-Gage press event in Lapland.
"I'm not scared about anybody," he said. "The real question is how do they [Sony Ericsson] do it? Can they create a link between the PSP games and a phone? Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We've been doing this for two years and it hasn't been easy."
In a candid briefing, Kaidesoja also addessed the issue of the N-Gage First Access being hacked to work on other handsets. You might think Nokia would be unhappy about it, but you'd be wrong.
"We knew people would crack it," says Kaidesoja. "Cracking a sisx file isn't that hard, so of course we expected it. And it's good to get feedback on the First Access application even from people with other handsets."
The UK is one of the top two or three countries in terms of people downloading the First Access application, apparently. Good work, fellow Brits!
As we reported last week, the full commercial launch of N-Gage is still set for the coming weeks. Kaidesoja says there'll be 6-8 games at launch, meaning there'll hopefully be two additional titles to the six already released for First Access.
That's if they make it through Nokia's certification process in time, though: "It may be that we launch with six titles, and then two more come the week after, and two more the week after that," he says.
The N82 and both N95 handsets will be next in line for the commercial launch, but bad news N73 owners: you're going to have to wait a while.
"We promised the N73 earlier, but we found some memory issues, as it has a lower memory spec than other devices," says Kaidesoja. "That gives some headaches, but we'll deal with that, and will release for the device during the second quarter."
Kaidesoja addressed head-on the issue of whether the launch titles from third-party publishers are ambitious enough – Tetris, Block Breaker Deluxe and World Series of Poker: Pro Challenge are hardly making the most of the platform, for all their charms.
"Whenever you have a new platform, you don't fully show its qualities," he says. "When you look at the EA stuff and Block Breaker Deluxe, it's not fully exploiting the SDK and all the capabilities it has to offer. But we are developing the SDK all the time, and during the second quarter we will see more innovative stuff."
So, will there be a dedicated N-Gage games handset? "There are no plans to release, but no plans not to release," said Kaidesoja, hedging his bets expertly.
"Broadening the device base is an obvious choice. We have tried with the N81 to have some ergonomics for gaming, and I don't think we are perfect yet. We haven't ruled it out, but we are not planning it either."
However, Nokia is working on making N-Gage games work with touchscreen handsets – Nokia will release several this year.
"We are working with the application to make it adaptable for the touchscreen environment," said Kaidesoja.
"There will need to be games that support touchscreens. They won't necessarily be there on day one [when the touchscreen handsets launch], since you have to have nine months development time, and it has to be in the SDK. But we will get there."
