The SingStar series has had unprecedented success across the globe, which is why Sony seem to love throwing a new SingStar game at us every few weeks. In what is one of the most unsurprising stories of the year, Eurogamer has confirmed that Sony has yet another SingStar game lined up for the PlayStation 2, entitled Summer Party. Unsurprisingly, the thirty-strong tracklist has a distinct summer vibe, including the likes of Amy Winehouse, Blur and, of course, the mighty Lou Bega.
The game is currently set for a release in Europe on the 25th of April - however, due to the obvious seasonal differences, things may be different for Australia. Sony haven't mentioned about the tracklist making it to the PS3 SingStore as of yet, but we imagine they will show up sooner rather than later, as some of the tracks listed here are available for download already.
Since we know you're so curious, here is the full tracklist.
* Adele - Chasing Pavements
* Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own
* Blondie - The Tide is High
* Blur - Girls & Boys
* Booty Luv - Shine
* Chesney Hawkes - The One & Only
* David Bowie - Let's Dance
* Diana Ross - I'm Coming Out
* Dirty Pretty Things - Bang Bang You're Dead
* Dodgy - Good Enough
* Elton John - I'm Still Standing
* Five Star - System Addict
* Girls Aloud - Call The Shots
* Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot
* Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet
* KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See
* Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of...)
* Madness - House of Fun
* Mel & Kim - Respectable
* Mika - Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)
* Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl
* Plain White Ts - Hey There Delilah
* Pulp - Disco 2000
* Razorlight - In The Morning
* Rihanna - Umbrella
* Sugababes - Red Dress
* Texas - Summer Son
* Toto - Hold The Line
* Wham! - Club Tropicana
* Yazz - The Only Way Is Up

Based on Examu's 2006 arcade game, Atlus is bringing Arcana Heart, a 2D fighter bursting with gorgeous brawling anime-style beauties that will make your jaw drop with their looks (or their fists), to North America.
Beyond our world lies that of the Elemental beings, the Arcana. These mighty spirits offer their abilities to the Maidens, those rare humans who are able to communicate with them. Long ago, our worlds were connected. However, the two worlds unexpectedly split apart, and a dimensional boundary was formed between them, separating our world from the Arcana. Seeking to harness their energy, the mysterious Mildred Avalon is trying to form a rift in the boundary and merge the worlds once more. Should her plan succeed, life on our world will never be the same again. Only the Maidens, with the help of their Arcana, can prevent her from bringing an end to all humanity.
Beauty is in the black eye of the beholder!
Key Features
* An all-girl fighting spectacular. Battles heat up with 11 beautiful female fighters to choose from.
* Customize your fighter's skills. Arcana add new attack and defense skills. Build your combat strategy by selecting from 11 different Arcana to pair with your fighter.
* Supreme vertical action. Take your fighting skyward! Huge battle maps let you rain down punishment on your opponent with air dashes and homing techniques to create devastating aerial combos.
* Exceptional replay value. Includes the original Arcana Heart and the remixed Arcana Heart FULL, and offers four different modes: arcade, story, versus, and training, as well as a gallery mode filled with unlockable extras.
Arcana Heart, not yet been rated by the ESRB, is scheduled for April 8th, 2008.

Everybody clamoring for a cheap Blu-ray player now that the format war is over might wanna bide their time with a sweet DVD upconverter--the $200-player Blu-ray cavalry is at least a year away, according to Sony Electronics CEO Stan Glasgow, who we talked to today in New York. "I don't think $200 is going to happen this year. Next year $200 could happen. We'll be at a $300 rate this year. $299 will happen this year."
No cheap Chinese-made players will be flooding the market to push it down either, not until the BDA decides to license the tech to them, and Glasgow implied it's gonna be a while before that happens. Anyone else wants a license? Sure. But not them, in part it was indicated, because of piracy concerns. Not that the price matters too much right now, since Sony is "struggling to keep up with the demand."
The mighty morphin' PS3 SKU--from 60GB to 40GB, backward-compatible or not--isn't going to stop shape-shifting. When asked "Will there also be another PlayStation with Blu-ray built-in? Glasgow answered that "there's going to be continual evolvement in the PlayStation line" before talking about feature upgrades with software.

Rockstar has confirmed to videogaming247 that the originator of this story claiming the 360 version of GTA IV is "superior" to the PS3 outing is not Rockstar North's Neil Corbett.
"Regarding the [story]," said a Rockstar spokesperson. "I can confirm that this is not Neil Corbett from Rockstar North that has been posting on rllmuk."

The Famitsu Marketing Data Service sent out its monthly report on videogame sales in Japan. It collected data from January 28th to February 24th. Although Nintendo is still performing extremely well, especially considering Super Smash Bros. Brawl's placement as the number one selling game (with over one million copies sold), Sony hardware and software sales are still notable.
Between the aforementioned dates, Sony pushed 89,131 PS3 units and 38,648 PS2s. Perhaps most surprising is the popularity of the PSP last month, which sold 223,570 units -- just under the DS Lite sales. This gave the PSP a 24 percent market share for hardware sales, only trumped by the DS Lite's 24.8 percent and the Wii's 35.7 percent.
In terms of software sales, Wii titles clearly were the highlight of last month, though Sony's platforms still pushed a fair number. The PS3's cumulative software sales for last month clocked in at 470,100 units, while PSP and the PS2 software came in at 309,400 and 407, 800 units, respectively. Once again, the PSP and its library seem to be performing nicely and PS2 software sales almost match those of the PS3.
Lastly, we see several PlayStation titles in the top 20 best selling games of last month. Included among them are Devil May Cry 4, Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut, Disgaea 3, Assassin's Creed, Warriors Orochi and Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

Sony Electronics CEO Stan Glasgow has said in an interview in New York that the PlayStation network is definitely going to spread into "many other" Sony products.
Quick bit of context here as to just who is saying this, Mr Glasgow is president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics Inc (that's worth $11 billion to Sony in the United States).
According to Gizmondo, Glasgow stated that:
"The company is "working very hard" on an answer to Apple TV, though it all seems to center around a Blu-ray player one way or another, and doesn't necessarily rely on the ill-fated Bravia Internet Video Link.
"Sony is "working on many other avenues to deliver downloaded content," like the PlayStation Network which will be "spread that over the next year or so to many other products of Sony."
These other products must be on top of the PSP and PlayStation 3 and could, therefore, include Sony's Bravia TVs (now that the Internet Video Link is dead in the water). It could, of course, also include the Vaio range... and what about the robot animals? We jest.
Whatever it includes, it will certainly be part of the $299 (£150) Blu-ray (not PlayStation) player we will see in 2008 (£100 versions are coming in 2009). "I don't think $200 is going to happen this year. Next year $200 could happen. We'll be at a $300 rate this year. $299 will happen this year", said Glasgow.
He also made mention - albeit incredibly ambiguous mention - of the future of PlayStation. We're going to quote him here - and then we are going to wait for the news aggregators to fill with "PlayStation 4 due in 2008 says Sony Top Guy!"
What Glasgow actually says is, "...there's going to be continual evolvement in the PlayStation line", which is equivalent to saying, "In order to live, we really ought to retain our breathing/lung synergy".

via Next Generation
The three ages of Sony are as follows; in no particular order.
Firstly, there is Imperious Sony. It’s a majestic, arrogant, successful company with a 50 percent-plus hardware share. It expects absolute fealty from third parties and from the media. Criticism is dealt with harshly and severely. This is not-terribly-nice Sony and we lived with it from about 1997 until 2005. (Hey fellow suffering industry brothers and sisters, we should all get together and write an upsetting biographical account of those terrible years.)
Then there is Pathetic Sony. This is the company we have been working with this past 18 months. It’s doing a crappy job but doesn’t really know how to behave in an appropriately humble manner. It is suffering from a debilitating loss of power and is full of self-doubt, manifest in slightly absurd proclamations of calm.
Finally, there is the Sony that we like and need. It has good products. It generates demand for those products. It has a smart sense of the market in terms of pricing. It makes great games. Its people are accessible and believable. It deals with the rest of us in a way that makes us all feel pally. That was Sony from 1994 to 1997 and, I’m very happy to say, it’s returned to us; as of January 2008 when HD-DVD obligingly ****ed itself out of existence.
I am in San Francisco to reaquaint with former Sega man Scott Steinberg; now VP of product marketing at SCEA. He’s been in the biz forever; right there in the filthy trenches of 1990s Sega. Man, he must have some stories to tell.
Alas, we only have 30 minutes so brandy-by-the-fire reminiscing of those old battles must wait another day. We’re here to look forward to PlayStation 3’s shiny future.

You're heard the critics lavish praise on the monochromatic, perspective-twisting goodness of echochrome, and now you PSP owners can finally take the game for a spin. How, you ask? Why, with a free, downloadable demo of course. Our friends at PSP Fanboy have all the instructions.
We hope you dig the demo, because without a release date for the game currently, there's not telling how long you'll need to make this sliver of echochrome last. Enjoy.

Earlier today, SouthPeak Games announced that Edge of Twilight, Fuzzyeyes' upcoming action title that uses Unreal Engine 3, will be released in 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Set in a steampunk inspired world where day and night no longer exist, players take on the role of Lex, a bounty hunter trapped between the conflict of two different civilizations.
"We are very excited to help bring Fuzzyeyes' creative vision to life. The team spent a lot of time developing a comprehensive story to give the universe a history and purpose, which can change based on the players' interaction within the world," said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak. Wei-Yao Lu, CEO of Fuzzyeyes, agreed, stating, "It is energizing to see our unique vision take shape. We are bringing some unusual ideas to the table and so far we couldn't be happier with the results. Gamers should look forward to 2009!"
We'll have more on Edge of Twilight as it becomes available.

D3Publisher has told Eurogamer that the PS3 "Entitlement" system in Dark Sector is a one off.
It was responding to a rather premature announcement of the Xbox 360 Achievements for the game, which were listed alongside identical PS3 rewards called "Entitlements".
Developer Digital Extremes had been working on this from the outset as a way to reward you for your hard work, according to a spokesperson for the publisher, but it is a system restricted to Dark Sector and not one you will see in other PS3 titles.
Dark Sector is due out in April with a demo likely to appear around that time.
The Achievements / Entitlements can be found below. They total 700, which is bizarre.

We sure liked Resistance. It's a good game! So good that some people wish that they could take it will them on the bus and train and shoot-up aliens. That's be super! But is it going to happen? Insomniac Games bossman Ted Price says:
Sure. I think that's possible... I think Killzone demonstrated that it doesn't have to be a first-person shooter. I think Killzone: Liberation was a fantastic game, but a very different game from the original. Anything is possible.
You heard that? Non FPS Resistance on PSP, cats living with dogs, mass hysteria — anything is possible!

We warned you that one reason to hold off on boarding the Blu train is that movies released in the past year without sweet BD-Live interactive features might be re-released. A lot of them. Today, we got first confirmation of this from Fox, which told us it'll be re-releasing Alien Vs. Predator later this year with a suite of new interactive features. And that's just the beginning.
Sony Pictures is also reaching in with both hands, though they're "not 100 percent sure [they're] going back on every disc" and will be looking at "different ways [they] can allow people to connect to a BD-Live site" for stuff that's already come out sans the BD Launcher. But they haven't figured that second part out yet.
To be fair, of all the Blu-ray studios, Fox is currently the most pumped about the interactive aspect—a big reason they helped build Blu along with Sony and friends. What Fox is adding doesn't make this a crap double dip, either: It's a multiplayer game woven into the film that you play as it progresses, attacking and killing other players in hopefully the most genuine film interaction to date. Not only do you upload your own avatar, it'll stay in memory and reappear when you buy future AVP titles. Sven Davison, Fox's VP of Worldwide Product Development and Production, said nothing he's seen on HD DVD has come close to this.
Davison also said Fox was looking at three other major franchises for a heavy interactive component. But other studios probably aren't going to be as scrupulous, because they primarily see interactivity as "icing on the cake" rather than potatoes to the 1080p-and-uncompressed-audio meat.
This of course opens the door for nearly everything already on BD to be double-dipped in the coming year—especially in cases like Warner's, since that studio has already launched more interactive versions of movies on HD DVD while simultaneously putting out lower-featured editions on BD. Would this have happened if the 2.0 spec had been mandatory from the start?

Given the finality of the format war, we can't say we're totally shocked to hear that Samsung will be pulling the plug on its recently announced BD-UP5500 HD DVD / Blu-ray combo player, but still, it's not good news for folks planning to pick it up for kicks (or watching their library of HD DVDs). Interestingly enough, Sammy had already planned to axe its current flagship hybrid player -- the BD-UP5000 -- this May, just months after it went on sale and began taking heat for not meeting expectations. On the plus side, the firm's latest BD-only player was a real gem, so hopefully we'll see lots more where that came from in the future. Oh, and if you're weeping this very moment at the thought of never getting to see one in person, feel free to click here and live vicariously through us.

We're not terrifically interested in paying top dollar for what is tantamount to a glorified demo, so we aren't that excited for the April 17 release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. But, as Gary Coleman taught us, it takes diff'rent strokes to move the world, so far be it from us to withhold the torrent of GT5P news we were bombarded with this morning.
In addition to a full car and track list (which you can find after the break) we learned the North American version will include a Drift Mode, the ability to tune your car, two-player split screen racing and a new set of race events. It's still not enough to justify the $40 price tag for us, but if you're a fan, it sounds like it could be a bargain.

March 6th, 2008, 17:05 Posted By: wraggster
Codemasters has inked a deal with Majesco to bring 12 Wii, DS and PSP titles to Europe, as it targets the family-orientated market.
The partnership will see eight titles released this year, including Cake Mania for Wii and Toy Shop for the DS, and another four games scheduled for 2009.
"Majesco was looking for a pan-European partner who shares our belief in the strength, quality and depth of our product portfolio whilst contributing measurably to the energy, focus, talent and distribution breadth required to maximise their potential across the PAL territories," commented Jason Dutton, MD of Majesco Entertainment International.
US publisher Majesco has experienced a turnaround over the past twelve months, with a new strategy to focus on the casual market seeing the publisher reduce its operating losses by 84 per cent in 2007.
"We are delighted that a publisher of Codemasters’ heritage and quality shares our perspective and we look forward to working with them in 2008 and beyond," added Sutton.
Codemasters has a portfolio of strong brands including Colin McRae, Race Driver and Operation Flashpoint, and this Majesco deal sees the UK publisher add titles aimed at the more casual market to its offering.
"Codemasters has a dynamic network of established European offices and distribution bases that will extend Majesco’s product reach through PAL territories," said Tony Williams, chief operating officer of Codemasters.
"This will be a very positive partnership given that Majesco has an exciting and diverse range of original and established titles that complements our European portfolio."
Titles confirmed for distribution are Nanostray 2, Toy Shop, Cake Mania 2 and Nancy Drew: The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society for DS, Wild Earth: African Safari, Our House and Cake Mania for Wii and Blokus Portable: Steambot Championship for the PSP.
