Bourne Conspiracy developer High Moon has joined the growing list of development studios admitting to having problems working with Unreal Engine on the PlayStation 3.
In an interview with Gamasutra, High Moon VP Paul O'Connor was asked whether developing The Bourne Conspiracy across multiple platforms was difficult.
He replied, "We needed a lot of support on Unreal to make it run on the PlayStation 3. We got caught in the same crunch as everybody else when [Epic] finalized Gears [Of War], so that definitely slowed down the PS3 support at the time."
Other companies who have experienced trouble with the engine includes Too Human developers Silicon Knights, who are currently engaged in a legal battle with Epic over breach of contract.
Dark Sector director Steve Sinclair also expressed difficulties in using the engine, who reportedly told Australian website Gameplayer that "A lot of promises were made about the Unreal 3 engine, particularly on PS3.
"But as we see now, the time frames haven't been met and now a lot of games using it are being held up." Dark Sector developer Digital Extremes later said its comments were taken out of context.

Square Enix will be offering a Special Edition of Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII in the UK. European offers may vary a little.
An official announcement is said to be "imminent", but some retailers have begun posting the contents on the Internet we call home. And friend.
The "Special Pre-Order Edition" at Gamestation will contain a 48-page art book and fancy slipcase packaging.
That one sells for GBP 29.99, but we're told it should be the same price as the non-special edition. It really is quite limited, apparently. Shop around for similar offers on other sites over the weekend, then.
Square Enix has previously said Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII will be arriving on PSP this spring, although Gamestation has it down for summer.

Here you get the Deluxe Version of Heartlight PSP.
Written in C using SDL, Heartlight Deluxe PSP is a clone/remake of the classic Epic Megagames' Heartlight, developed by Chaos/xLand Games originally released in 1994, since 2006 under a Creative Commons license. Heartlight Deluxe PSP comes with 70 braincracking Levels, a Level Editor, a Level Recorder (a successful solve of a Level is recorded and can be played back), an exclusive Hardcore Breaks Soundtrack. Please read the readme.txt for details!
Heartlight Deluxe PSP 1.0 is an entry to the Neoflash 2008 Spring competition. If you like the game, why not consider getting a view on all entries at neoflash.com and do a vote?
Heartlight Deluxe PSP 1.0 is tested on a phat PSP with CFW 3.90 M33-2. I assume that it runs on Slim+Lite and original firmwares 1.00 and 1.50.

Updated release from billylee8:
About PSP Kanji Learner:
I wasn't able to duplicate my old flash card study method with other programs available (not just on the PSP but on the PC as well), and I couldn't be bothered to learn C, so I did the next best thing and made my flash cards with videos - something I have ample experience with.
I realized this would work on the PSP because of the sequential video playback feature included in firmware 3.70; when "Shuffle" is selected, the same video won't play twice, and the sequential playback will end when all the videos in a folder are played.
Since these flash cards are videos (each individual card can range from 130 KB to 160 KB), this might not be considered "homebrew," but I *would* call it an app. Also, because this is essentially a set videos, YOU DO NOT NEED CUSTOM FIRMWARE.
How to use:
Each card has a front and a back side.
On the front, you'll have the grade level and the stroke count. You'll also have entries for the following:
- Unicode: ("U____") For example, on the kanji card for "kawa" (river), you'll see "U5ddd". If you only want to type that one character, just type in "5ddd" in a word processor, hit "Alt+X", and "5ddd" will turn into the kanji.
- Classic Nelson entry number ("N____")
- New Nelson entry number ("V____")
- Halpern New Japanese-English Character Dictionary Index ("H____")
- Halpern Kanji Learner's Dictionary Index ("DK____")
On the back, you'll have the on-yomi readings (written in katakana), the kun-yomi readings (written in hiragana), and the English key word as provided by the KLD.
The numbers of the file names of the videos themselves refer to the kanji's entry in the Kanji Learner's Dictionary.
There are two sets of each video card; when you play a card from "Side A", the front side of the card will play for 5 seconds, followed by a sound and the back side will play for 5 seconds. When you play a card from "Side B", the reverse will happen. If you need more time, press Start to pause. This double-sided approach was lacking in other programs; if you have all the info (i.e. kanji, readings, and meanings) on one side, you're obviously not going to be able to test yourself on anything! Also, most people don't have too much trouble reading and pronouncing kanji in context, but what gets EVERYONE is being able to recall the correct kanji and write it from memory (making "Side B", IMO, invaluable).
When I was learning new kanji, I'd learn 20 new kanji a week while reviewing the old ones. It turns out that method has a name: The Leitner System.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashcard
You are, of course, free to choose exactly which and how many kanji you want to test yourself on. When the full 1945-card set is finished, you'll easily be able to make more sets using copies of the same cards - useful for having sets with kanji that look similar, or sets entirely consisting of those pesky Japanese homophones.
Release schedule:
I'll try to create cards for 20 new kanji every day or every other day; no more (I'll need time to maintain the quality with triple checking... as well as maintain my sanity), and no less (because I want to get done with this sometime in my life). Of course, I won't actually release them until I reach some sort of milestone (e.g. the complete set of a grade).

Red Squirrel has released a new version of Time Machine Configurator
What's it?
It is a simple homebrew that has the aim to configure D.A.'s Time Machine by PSP.
All the procedure is done on PSP simply by pressing some keys, so no PC is required.
Program will edit the /TM/config.txt.
More info are in the homebrew main page.
v2.0
-Program code is totally new.
-Program is Italian if your PSP is set in Italian language, English otherwise.
-Instead of press a key, now you can choose it from a list. For this reason, now you can use ALL keys allowed!!!
-Possibility to use a combination of two keys to launch a TM Firmware
-Possibility to view the actual TM configuration BEFORE to create a new one (SQUARE option in main menù).
-Possibility to choose what Firmware to configure.
-Now program will show what combination of keys you choose.
-At the end of the config procedure program will show the actual configuration and what will be the new configuration. You can press START to write the new configuration, or press CIRCLE to abort and return to main menù.
-Program has some security controls, for example:
1. Program will insert the "NOTHING" option (if present) at the end of the config file (like suggested by D.A.)
2. If you insert two egual combination of keys for two different TM Firmwares, program will give an error message and will return to main menù BEFORE to edit the config file!
Something else that I don't remember at the moment.

News/release from Christek:
I'm sure many of you are familiar with LuaPlayer, for testing Lua apps on the PC. I got sick of using the terminal to open my lua files, writing batch scripts, etcetera. So I wrote this quick little program and icons in about half an hour to handle that for me.
That brings us to LuaPlayerWin GUI. Free, tiny, portable, and it does one simple task.
