Information from official site:
Xeon is a project to create a PS2 emulator with best compatibility and performance.
The official start was the 05.02.2008. We work in a 5-man team where everybody has his own thing to do:
* Xeon - Main/CPU coding (emulator is based on his idea :P)
* Quid - Graphics (render acceleration)
* Port7 - Plugins and device emulation (such as DVD)
* lateit - Sound (Central Sound System)
* rSys - Input-Output processing
The latest build is the ‘0.2a’ and an early beta . We don’t want to use others code (such as foreign video-plugins), so it takes a while to develop. The release date is unknown, cause we don’t want to release an unfinished emulator (there are enough of them).
So visit our site to get new (we code every day) informations about development.
For those of you, who can’t wait to see the emulator, i took a screenshot for you.
Here we go:
http://xeon.pytalhost.net/boot.png
Our own video plugin is in phase 2/10. You can see the beautiful output (with ~16 FPS!) while rendering the PS2 BIOS.
Thanx to Quid and Port7 for a good job. The dev time for this plugin was nearly one month.

Dubbed ‘the man who knows too much', their insider teases us with some of the latest PlayStation murmurings:
* In game XMB will be coming, however not for a few months yet.
* He tells us to expect a ‘big' announcement involving Home, including information about ‘trophies' or achievements "to rival the Xbox live system".
* A sequel for a popular Xbox 360 title will be ‘received' soon, and that it will be making its first appearance on the PS3, he also states this isn't Lost Planet.

News/release from Wallaby
I propose a demo version of my game named Dark Basis. This demo contains 4 levels fairly simple. Thereafter, the game will include thirty! But let up to the presentation!
What Dark Basis?
You are a small white rectangle that needs to find its way, unfortunately, the more you advance in levels, the challenge is great! (Logic ^ ^) At level two, you have several choices output level, but only one output will go to the next level, all the others you ramènerons at 1! Just for fun, the higher the level increases, the level of your character increases. Attention stay well on the way!
Installation:
* Unzip the archive to the letter assigned to your PSP.
* Go to the party [Thursday]> [Memory Stick] on your PSP.
* Select and run Dark Basis.
How to play?
It's simple, you just have to lead the white rectangle using multidirectionelle your PSP.
Acknowledgments:
I thank the site xtreamlua.com that I learned the basics of programming and lua who teaches me every day.
I also thank all the members of the site that respond quickly to all questions.
I also thank Mourioche that give me permission to use his musical compositions in Dark Basis! ( Http://www.mourioche.com)
Caution: In this demo, music have been added. They will be in the final version!
Dark Basis is usually compatible with the PSP like Fat with the PSP Slim.

gambiting posted this WIP news and screenshot of his entry into the Neoflash Comp:
Nickname: Gambiting
Project name : BlowUp!
From : Poland
Division : PSP Game
Original enter : YES
Support Motion : NO
In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10 : NO
Project description:
It's an OpenGL,full 3D game,in which you are driving a tank, and you have to destroy your opponents, and collect all coins. Environment is fully textured, with working collisions. Game difficulty changes with each level. Sorry but there is no motion sensing as I don't have fat psp to test it. So,the game is made for 3.xx kernel, runs fine on Slim on 3.90M33-2.
The game is not finished yet,so I will release it on 19 march,as I hope it will be complete by then.

Da Merv has updated his entry into the Neoflash Coding Comp, heres the full details:
Nickname: Da_MerV
Project name: Let's Roll
From: US
Division: PSP Game
Original enter: YES
Motion Support: YES
In last NEO Compo this project won in the top 10: NO
Project description: Simple yet entertaining game demonstrating the possibility of motion integration and pseudo 3D in Lua.
Screen:
Long description: This game is a demonstration of the power and capability of Lua. In this game you must tilt the PSP to roll the ball along a course to the goal. As the levels pass, the courses get more challenging, and the ball rolls faster. A great game for anyone and any age!
Featuring:
-Realistic control with the motion kit
-Pseudo 3D levels and great graphics
-Simple gameplay for any age player
-Small size: the entire pack is only 1.56 MB uncompressed
PLEASE NOTE: PLUG BEFORE YOU PLAY, THE PROGRAM ASSUMES THE MOTION KIT IS ALREADY THERE
Known Issues:
-Exit only breaks the script, I did this because os.exit() was crashing the PSP
-Once in a blue moon it will freeze and crash, I'm not sure why
Enjoy the game and don't forget to vote!
~Merv
PS. The update is now available! Please re download the zip. I am trying to find the bug that causes it to crash every once in a while. If it crashes while you are playing it, please post and let me know what level and as many details as possible.

March 15th, 2008, 20:02 Posted By: wraggster
Sony has released its own comments following the release of February's NPD sales figures, noting a 120 percent year over year increase in PS3 sales and the continued strength of its PlayStation 2.
The PlayStation Portable also saw a 38 percent jump in year over year sales. Sony says its PlayStation 2 sold "more software units than any other console on the market" for the third consecutive month.
Its PlayStation Network has seen growth as well, with more than 3.3 million current users and 56 million life-to-date downloads. Sony says that in February there were 6.3 million downloads, just shy of the holiday-high 6.6 million in December.
Said SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton, “Consumers are recognizing the tremendous value of PS3 and we believe that Blu-ray becoming the high-def format of choice was the tipping point for many consumers. With monster titles like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Grand Theft Auto IV launching in April and Metal Gear Solid 4 in June, we’re demonstrating this is the year for PS3.”

Here is the change log for this new release:
- added a cache on the memory stick
- allows offline browsing of maps in the cache
- added a configuration file
- added options to disable disk cache and transition effects
- added an error image when view is not available
- better zoom level (thanks to elefas for the tip)
So the most important upgrade is the possibility to browse offline the maps you have previously opened with the wifi
The cache is currently set to 1000 tiles, which should be enough for most people.
You can download this new version and source on my website: http://royale.zerezo.com/psp/

In case your PSP wasn't getting enough puzzle love, UFO Interactive Games announced today that it's bringing Chameleon to Sony's portable in Q2 2008.
The title will revolve around matching similarly colored hexagonal tiles but will also feature four playable characters who each have unique abilities, at least two modes -- be the first to reach the flag in Goal Mode and overtake the enemy in King Mode -- as well as wireless multiplayer and game sharing.

A 15-year-old Marble Falls boy remains in critical condition at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin with a gunshot wound to the head after what a parent said may have been instigated by a video game called God of War.
Accused of the crime is a 13-year-old Marble Falls youth in custody at the juvenile detention center in Belton and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, according to the Marble Falls Police Department.
At approximately 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, two youth were visiting the 13-year-old boy at his grandmother's residence, located at 1209 Johnson St., when the 13-year-old decided to retrieve bullets for a gun, which was already out, while the other two boys sat on the couch playing a video game called God of War, according to one of the parents.
Once the boy returned, he loaded the bullets in the .22 caliber pistol, and without saying a word, shot the 15-year-old boy in the head, the parent said
