Guys,
Here's a very interesting article from the Kotaku website:
First Tiny Look At Linger In Shadows, A Mysterious Real Time PlayStation 3 Demo
German site 4Sceners.de published this weekend the first captured images of a demo for a mysterious commercial product known as Linger In Shadows, created by demoscene group Plastic. Details are virtually nonexistent on Linger In Shadows, a title Sony Computer Entertainment trademarked in November of last year. Members of the Plastic team said of the demo, which was shown at the Breakpoint 2008 gathering this weekend, that it would be released publicly on the PlayStation 3, possibly as a graphical showcase for the system, but that it was not a game in the conventional sense.
Other Breakpoint attendees teased via the Pouet.net forums that it would be somehow playable and that Linger In Shadows was one of multiple demoscene projects commissioned by Sony. We're looking into it further to learn more about the project.
Here's the link to the article:

March 25th, 2008, 14:41 Posted By: wraggster
Sony has promised a number of "very unique" game titles for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) later this year.
Outside of Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, Secret Agent Clank, and a line-up of additional sports games, Sony marketing manager John Koller said he didn't want to "scoop" anything, but that some "very unique" titles are coming later this year, with a focus on "franchise umbrellas".
In terms of downloadable games, Koller said consumer education will be a hurdle in the coming months because the PSP store is still in its infancy. "The Store will be very, very important for Sony and for the PSP's future," he said, including both PS1 and PS2 re-releases.
Koller also mentioned that upcoming PSP peripherals will include a keyboard (for internet browsing), camera and North American version of the GPS add-on planned for release this autumn.
To date, Sony has sold more than 31 million PSP systems worldwide. By comparison, Nintendo has sold more than 65 million global DS units.

This isn't the first time this has happened, but it's certainly becoming a worrying trend: many British retailers are already pricing the PS3 version of GTAIV higher than the 360 version, despite Rockstar not having yet announced an official rrp. WH Smiths will be selling the PS3 version for £45 and the 360 version for £40, while mega-retailers GAME and GameStation have said they also expect the PS3 version to sell for more. So PS3 owners pay more for the game, while 360 owners get the promise of DLC and free MS points upon pre-order? Oh dear.

It looks like players in both Japan and Europe will be getting a leg up on building decks and strategies for the upcoming expansion to Sony and Wizard's of the Coast's Eye of Judgment, as the game will not make its previously announced March 27th released in North America. If we had to guess, this probably can be traced to some sort of printing error with the cards, though Sony hasn't specified for the delay, nor a new North American release date, with a post on the official PlayStation blog saying only to "stay tuned."
As previously mentioned, the expansion will require not only the original game but also the purchase of a download from the PlayStation Store (for new character models and effects we assume), though Sony adds that this download will be kept out of North American players' hands until the cards eventually make their fashionably late debut. Until that time, enjoy the expansion's latest trailer, and imagine yourself playing the game through the magic of self delusion.

30 companies to be investigated for use of short-wavelength LEDs and laser diodes
The US International Trade Commission announced that it would be investigating 30 companies, including Sony, with regard to alleged patent infringements.
According to Reuters, the ITC is acting upon a complaint filed in February by Columbia University Professor Emeritus Gertrude Neumark Rothschild.
Rothschild, who is seeking to block imports into the US of a range of products, apparently owns a patent on her method of producing wide band-gap semiconductors for LEDs and laser diodes in the blue and ultraviolet end of the light spectrum.
Products such as handheld mobile devices, traffic lights and high-definition DVD players use short-wavelength, light-emitting diodes and laser diodes.
"Dr. Rothschild made a seminal breakthrough in the production of the blue and ultraviolet LEDs that are essential to a wide variety of consumer electronics products today," said Albert Jacobs Jr, an attorney representing Rothschild.
"She richly deserves both scientific as well as commercial recognition for her work."
Along with Sony, the ITC announcement said that it would be investigating Hitachi, Motorola, Toshiba, Samsung Group, Pioneer, Sharp, Nokia, LG Electronics Inc. and Panasonic product maker Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.

Okay, so we dutifully updated our PS3 software to version 2.20, and took it for a quick spin. Granted, the removal of portable copy from the release lowered our expectations, but we really wanted to see what BD-Live is all about. During the install, we got a dialog to "... allow Internet connection from BDs" that got our attention. Hello, BD-Live! The number of discs with BD-Live content makes for slim pickings, but we popped in a copy of "War." Based on what we've seen, you can strike this title off the Profile 2.0 list -- despite what we'd heard before about this being a BD-Live title, we didn't notice any special extras on our updated PS3. We uncovered the BD-Live enabled version of "Yakuza Fighter." It's without a doubt, the lamest game ever to grace our PS3: you set a sequence of moves and then pit your sequence against the other player. Once you're done, your scores and moves can be kept associated with your online profile for future fights. Think "scripted rock-paper-scissors" here. Even more disappointing is that we found it impossible to get the "Resume play" function to work with this title. The feature did work just fine on other discs, however, and is a welcome addition to our fragmented lifestyle. We'll hold off on a verdict until more BD-Live content becomes available, meanwhile perhaps we'll try to grab a copy of the other BD-Live disc, Saw IV, and see if the BD-Live Easter Egg hunt yawn-fest continues.

Look, who could blame you for wanting to personalize your PSP a little. At the moment you can wait around for limited edition models like the God of War or get your kitchen-beige or month-old-mint models from a friendly, price-gouging, Japanese importer. Else, why not hold out until April 14th when ColorWare plans to unveil its new PSP colorization service. Although nothing has been announced, it's probably safe to assume the same level of "buy new" or "send in" service ColorWare already offers for the DS Lite.

Whoa, has it really been three years since the PSP had its glittery North American debut? It seems like just yesterday we were watching UMD movies on our chubby first-gen unit -- and now here we are, with the PSP Slim all grown up, multicolored, and in a serious relationship with the PS3. (All we're missing is built-in storage.)

Nothing beats that straight-from-the-oven firmware smell, and Sony just hit the internet with its PS3 2.20 firmware update goodness. The big win here is BD-Live interactive Blu-ray compatibility (Blu-ray 2.0), but there are some other minor tweaks as well, mostly multimedia and web browsing related. Unfortunately, portable copy didn't make the cut, but there's always 2.30, right?

News/release from northern fusion:
Something for the thememakers/convertors.
I've been converting all the themes I use myself, so I could add whatever gameboot I wanted to use.
And I've been "stealing" the prieview pics from other ctf's. tsk tsk
And again in other cases, making the whole preview ptf myself.
On other sites, you can get ctf's with gameboots, but maby you dont like them.
On this site, gameboots aint allowed.
And so on and so on...
In other words, the whole gameboot situation got me .
But I came up with a solution, its an old one, but good one.
I edited a "clean" 3.90 opening_plugin.prx to load the gameboot from: ms0/PSP/THEME/gameboot.pmf.
Threw the opening_plugin.prx into SchiDeLoaDeR and made a ctf, and voila it loads from ms.
So this is somewhat a request for future ctf themes, please add the opening_plugin.prx I provide here, or edit your own to load from theme folder.
It will provide us with more custom options, and be a solution to a "problem" I'm sure other has aswell.
Download opening_plugin.prx:

arpaagent posted this news/release:
VisMP3 is an alternative to the lackluster built-in music player on the PSP. Although it only supports decoding of mp3 formatted files at this time, VisMP3 offers some important features that Sony could not fit into flash0, namely a media library that organizes mp3s (regardless of folder setup)as well as playlist functionality. Also, as indicated by the name, VisMP3 demonstrates several different types of visualizations for a visual as well as audio experience. The Fireworks visualization is a MUST SEE.
VisMP3v0.1.2 Released!!
Hey Everyone! I have still been updating my program and wanted to drop a new release on the Forum. I know it isn't valid for the contest, but I though some of you might be interested in an updated. It fixes several bugs and adds a few very useful options (for full changes download and see the readme):
Important Additions
* .zip includes a theme I made with a background and all settings included.
* Added control of CPU clock speed. Music plays down to 19 Mhz!! (for cpu speed, the bus speed goes down to 95, that's the lowest allowed). Now you can get more out of your PSP's battery!! If you are using a low clock speed, be sure to use simple fonts with no background or the UI will be slow.
* Simple text now has larger version to match pgf font (for list Title, etc)
* Color choice for Fonts now shows a color box instead of changing the item color, which makes it easier to read and also see the color
* Ability to change the media library directory from within the Library options menu
Important Bugfixes
* Playlist now advances correctly after text has faded.
* Playlist control keys no longer affect fade state
* Fixed some bugs in the playlist advancement algorithm
* Changing background while drawing background no longer crashes program
