German Hacking Site PSXTools has posted an interview with the PSVita Hacker SKFU, the interview is in german so heres an english translation:
The famous developer "SKFU" has the ps X tools TEAM given me an interview and asked a few photos. Here are some of the questions are "SKFU" as far as "first" was not answered.
ps X tools.de: "You have your own exploit for the PS Vita - What can this?"
SKFU: . "I'm working on several different exploits, including some less and others more useful than further to the User Mode I not yet penetrated, this time Sony has not made a very bad job.
For example, the FS (File System) is definitely better than the foreclosed
PlayStation 3, but hopefully only a matter of time Unfortunately, the problem of all current exploits the porting and running on other systems.
Since they are highly adapted to the respective systems on which they run. During PSV was in my view strongly taken to ensure that there is no piracy.
Unfortunately it ignores many other aspects, which Sony has not counted apparently. glad I'd details and give examples but as usual, this would in a short Zeitzu a firmware update which will lead the error of course fixes. wait So until there is a possibility that at . prevent " ps X tools.de: "Did you unpack / repack tools PSVIMG files." SKFU: "No".
ps X tools.de: "Do you get help from other programmers of the scene?"
SKFU: "As always, I work closely with IQD, but also with other developers from PSV Scene."
ps X tools.de: "Do you intend to publish your exploits in the near future?"
SKFU: "As mentioned above may not be published until something if it is certain that it can not be patched. at On a cat and mouse game as VHBL I'm not interested, that would just be too time consuming. " We thank SKFU for answering the questions and the images have been sent. Source: e-mail " Mishka84 (ps X tools TEAM) <-> SKFU "

DeanK has just updated multiMAN application to version 04.19.00, which now has initial support for booting up single-disc game-based PSone disc images from a storage device (/PSXISO and /PSXGAMES folders), complete with virtual memory card support, although do bear in mind that game compatibility is much lower than booting up PSone backups via an optical disc (PSone game disc or CD-R/CD-RW), and that the disc images will show up in the Retro column instead of the default game column, so having a PSone game burned onto a disc or playing a legitimately acquired PSone game is still advised for those who plan to play PSone games on the PS3 for the time being.

Capcom is bringing Resident Evil: Revelations to everything except Vita because of the portable's screen format size and lack of surround sound. Those were the reasons given by Capcom product manager Mike Lunn on the PlayStation Blog, following the news of the 3DS game's impending arrival on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.
Responding to a comment querying the lack of a Vita port, Lunn said, "When we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent."
That's all good and well, except for how Revelations was initially made for the 3DS and its not-so-large screens. Lunn went on to address that in another comment.
"3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts," Lunn noted. "Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions."
Capcom's reasoning aside, that leaves the Vita without a Resident Evil game compared to two on its rival handheld, so we can understand frustrations. On the plus side, a lot more people get to play the popular 3DS game when it hits other platforms on May 21.

During the month of February, Sony has launched an incentivized referral program that rewards PlayStation 3/Vita owners with $20 of PSN credit and 1,000 Sony Rewards points, provided they successfully convince a friend or family member to purchase a Vita.
Your referred friend/family member also receives $20 in PlayStation Network credit, in addition to, like, the Vita they just bought, which makes this whole thing a pretty easy sell for anyone who had already planned on buying a new handheld this month. If you don't know anyone like that, however, might we suggest bribing them with the copy of Care Bears Movie II: A New Generationthat you bought with your 1,000 Sony Rewards points?

Earlier this week Persona 4 Golden on Vita was confirmed for an EU release date of February 22. Today, NIS America has confirmed it'll be out two days earlier via the PlayStation Store.
The digital version of the game will arrive on the EU PS Store on Wednesday, February 20, two days ahead of its arrival at retail.Persona 4 Golden is an updated and enhanced Vita remake of of the original PlayStation 2 RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.
It launched in Japan and US in June and November 2012 respectively, achieving positive reviews and healthy sales in both regions. Its release was accredited with causing a temporary surge in Vita sales in Japan, with 137,076 copies sold in that region in the game's launch week.

Earlier this week Capcom announced that its formerly 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations would be coming to PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PC in an enhanced version. As many pointed out, the Vita was omitted from this list. But why?Capcom product manager Mike Lunn responded to such queries on the US PlayStation Blog, stating that it was a technical issue with porting to the platform."When we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent," Lunn stated in a comment. A big screen experience is all well and good, but this totally ignores the fact that the game was originally designed for a system with a smaller screen than the Vita and even less horsepower.Lunn later added, "3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions."After that he continued to direct people to his first response.Given that there are loads of games that exist on both platforms, this talk of different resolutions and surround sound seems like it isn't telling the full story. Perhaps it has more to do with the Vita's poor sales, eh?

The original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will launch on the PlayStation Network for PS3 next week.
Set for release as part of the PS2 Classics range, it'll be available to download on Tuesday January 29 in the US and Wednesday January 30 in Europe, priced at $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99.We called the 2002 PS2 version of the game phenomenal in our original Grand Theft Auto Vice City review.
Last month US ratings body the ESRB classified more Rockstar PS2 classics for PS3 including Red Dead Redemption predecessor Red Dead Revolver, school playground fist-flinger Bully, and racing games Midnight Club, Midnight Club 2 and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix.
And Rockstar said today: "Stay tuned for more classic Rockstar titles coming for download to PSN in the weeks and months ahead."

'There is no evidence that encrypted payment card details were accessed'
Sony is planning to appeal a £250,000 fine from the UK Information Commissioner’s Office for failing to protect its customers’ data during the PSN hack in April 2011.
The fine was slapped down by the ICO this morning after it found Sony was in breach of the Data Protection Act.
Personal information of PSN users such as addresses and credit card numbers were believed to have been stolen by hackers, but Sony has disputed whether any of the leaked details could have been used for fraudulent purposes.
ICO deputy commissioner David Smith said the hack was “the most serious breach we have had reported to us” and had no doubt Sony possessed the technical expertise to prevent such an attack.
In a statement however to MCV, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe said that it “strongly disagrees with the ICO’s ruling and is planning an appeal”, and highlighted the ICO's own findings that there was no evidence to suggest credit card details had been accessed.

Security breach 'the most serious we have had reported to us,' says ICO
Sony has been fined £250,000 as a result of the PlayStation Network hack in April 2011.
After the PSN hack, in which millions of users’ personal data was compromised, the PSN was down for a month as Sony looked to plug the security holes in the online service.
Information such as addresses, credit card numbers and other personal details were thought to have been stolen by the hackers.
The fine has been handed down by the UK Information Commissioner's Office after it found Sony was in breach of the Data Protection Act, and the body's deputy commissioner David Smith said the hack was “the most serious breach we have had reported to us”.
He added that Sony had “let everybody down”, and said it was making no apologies for the penalty.

via http://wololo.net/2013/01/24/vita-2-...s-uno-exploit/
As of now in most regions the new official Vita firmware update 2.5 is live and is mandatory.
After reporting on the firmware update yesterday and then them pulling down the information from the update page they’ve decided to blind side us with the 2.05 vita update today. But after the UNO exploit release we knew it was bound to happen at some point or another. The update was quite lengthy to download and to install so as to what Sony decided to do with the update other than blocking the UNO exploit is unknown until further investigation. Oddly, the update also required for a system reboot which hasn’t been the case before. Undoubtedly it did patch the usermode and kernel exploit for UNO. The update is already live in the US and should make its rounds to everyone else at anytime.
The change-log included doesn’t offer any other details other than the standard “System software stability during use of some features has been improved.” However it patches the UNO exploit for 2.02 and below using the typical black list method making the exploit unable to load and shown as corrupt. If you’d like to keep your UNO exploit or any previous exploit released do NOT update to 2.05 or you’ll no longer have access. (Remember that all tricks and proxies have been blocked so you’ll be stuck without direct PSN access on your Vita.)
If you have decided to stay on a lower firmware you’ll need to make sure you have Open CMA installed so you are not blocked from copying content. By some chance if you missed the last few exploits, go ahead and update and wait the next release. Also keep in mind when deciding to update from a previous exploit that there may be a chance that the next exploit release is not a kernel exploit but rather usermode (VHBL). The main difference is that kernel exploits allow for full access to the pspemu giving us eCFW (TN-C & ARK) which lets you run PSP/PSX backups, homebrew, plugins ect. compared to VHBL which is limited and only allows homebrew.
Stay tuned for updates.

Chalk up another potential win for AMD. The latest report on the next PlayStation console (courtesy of Kotaku), allegedly codenamed "Orbis," puts AMD at the heart of both CPU and GPU: an eight core AMD64 CPU and an AMD R10XX GPU are said to drive the system. That's at least the dev kit that the site's tipster has as of right now, but those specs -- yes, even biggies like these -- could change completely by retail availability. Should AMD remain the CPU/GPU manufacturer, both Nintendo's Wii U and the next PlayStation will be powered by AMD chips; not too shabby for a company that's been bleeding talent. The rumors we've seen of the next Xbox also point to x64 architecture, but it's unclear whether that'll be supplied by AMD or another manufacturer. If those rumors pan out however, it would mean that a single unified architecture would power two of the major gaming consoles as well your laptop and desktop -- something that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. (And would open up a world of possibilities.)
We're inclined to trust the current specs of the dev kit, as they're said to be sourced from "official Orbis documentation ... a hive of more than 90 PDFs about the forthcoming console." One slide culled from that official documentation also outlines Sony's vision of user accounts, allowing multiple Sony Entertainment Network accounts to be signed in simultaneously (thus allowing for individual Trophies, and potentially cloud saves, among other uses). The piece also details a new controller -- though it is noted that the current dev kit supports both DualShock 3 and Sixaxis controllers (and the image above shows a Move, so probably that too) -- which is supposedly known as "the Orbis Development Tool." It's said to resemble the DualShock, albeit with the addition of a capacitive touchpad -- a rumor also posited by some UK outlets earlier this week.
Whether any of this is actually true is another question altogether, and we can't be sure until Sony gives official word. It sounds like some form of information isn't too far off -- E3 perhaps? Regardless, head over to Kotaku for the alleged full (current) list of specs on the dev kit and even more speculation.

FIFA was the dominant video game in the UK 2012 physical PS3 chart.
FIFA 13 managed to beat sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops II to be the biggest selling game on Sony's home console last year, according to GfK Chart-Track.
It was one of three FIFA games in the Top Ten, with FIFA 12 at No.7 and FIFA Street at No.8.
The FIFA franchise was heavily promoted on PS3 with a cross-ad deal between Sony and EA, a deal which appears to have paid dividends.
Assassins Creed III was the third best selling PS3 game of the year. There are no platform exclusive games in the PS3 Top Ten.
The PS3 Top Ten in full:
1. FIFA 13 – EA
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Activision
3. Assassin's Creed III – Ubisoft
4. Hitman Absolution – Square Enix
5. Need for Speed: Most Wanted – EA
6. Far Cry 3 – Ubisoft
7. FIFA 12 – EA
8. FIFA Street - EA
9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Activision
10. Resident Evil 6 – Capcom
