Media Molecule has assured those excited about LittleBigPlanet that it's coming along very nicely, thank you.
A post on the studio's website reads, "We've been slaving away pushing LittleBigPlanet towards the Alpha stage of its development cycle. Basically this means all the cool stuff we said will be in there should be playable, even if it isn't pretty enough to release.
"The game seems to change every day at the moment and it is very exciting to be able to sit down and play what feels more and more like a complete experience."
So when will we get to sit down and play it? September was the last we heard. In the meantime, there are plenty of previews, videos and screenshots on the gamepage.

Codemasters has said it plans to release HEI$T on PC, PS3 and 360 this summer.
The publisher unveiled the fresh date to Videogaming247, after having previously promised to release the title last Christmas.
HEI$T is a third-person action game that involves robbing banks in San Francisco 1969.
The challenge is to create and execute a plan without being caught, naturally. You'll begin by focusing on small targets, but as you gather a better team with better equipment and know-how, you'll start pinching the biggest and fattest purses in the land.
Codemasters predicts there will be plenty of car chases and action to keep you on the edge of your seat, too.

You may remember last week reading about a Canadian EB promotion that would allow you to buy Haze, play it for a week and then return it to the store for full credit. It's a great promotion, but we're not sure it makes a lot of dollars and sense for Ubisoft. That's probably a good clue as to why we're sadly reporting that the deal is no more.
MTV was told by Ubisoft that "there had been a miscommunication between the publisher's Canadian arm and the EB Games retail chain in Canada." You know, the offer seems pretty self-explanatory to us, we're not sure how a miscommunication could have happened.
EB Games: Wait, so you want us to give people full price back if they return the game within a week?
Ubisoft: Absolutely.
EB Games hangs up.
Ubisoft: Oh, and by full price we mean $30. Hello? Are you still there?
[Update: Reader Duggy promptly pointed out that this ad is still on the EB Canada website [at the time of posting]. So, what does that mean? We're trying to find out.]

Rock Band keeps rocking the downloadable content market as Harmonix announced today the game has sold over 6 million songs in just over three months. The title has set the bar for DLC with fresh weekly content and the last update we had about sales numbers stated that Rock Band had sold 2.5 million pieces of DLC around mid-January. We've placed a master list of all the songs available on Rock Band after the break.
Although we'll probably never get a straight answer, it would be nice to find out how much of an impact the new Rock Band music store is expected to make on sales. Having all that DLC available from directly inside the game, rather than making potential customers wander through the virtual aisles of the Xbox Marketplace or PlayStation Store, should make some noticeable difference.

SCEA producer, Takau Imasaki, has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's online mode will see updates in the future that'll add in-game voice chat and private race options to the package.
Although the game will allow for 16 players to race against each other when it launches in Europe on PSN on March 27, the online gameplay set-up options are thin on the ground.
You can only join Sony-created servers with pre-set scenarios - you can't set any gameplay options for yourself. But Imasaki promises that more options will be available - just not in time for launch.
"Private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works... but will not be ready from day one," Imasaki told posters on the official PlayStation blog. "Will keep you posted on the progress!" he added.
And so the package that more cynical critics call "just a demo" gets even larger.

EA has sneakily released a beefy patch to address problems with The Orange Box on PS3.
The 1.10 update is 128 MB, and unhelpfully has no associated documentation to outline the changes.
Early reports suggest friends not appearing on lists and certain accounts not connecting to the EA servers should no longer be a problem.
Orange Box PS3 owners have publicly complained for a while over the framerate and connection issues as well as slow loading times.
Valve does not develop PS3 versions of its games internally but outsources them to a third-party. It has said this is the model it will follow for the foreseeable future.
Can you tell us what else the patch has addressed, Eurogamer reader? You can have an Easter egg as a reward.

via Computer and Video Games
Sony has confirmed that a firmware update, version 2.20, to release in late March, will upgrade the PS3's Blu-ray movie playback capabilities to the new Profile 2.0 standard.
What does this gobbledegook mean? The biggest new feature of Profile 2.0 is BD-Live, which adds interactive features such as downloadable video content, ringtones, games and more to Blu-ray film discs.
The first films with BD-Live features are scheduled for release next month. BD-Live Titles apparently give you access to "a variety of downloadable content, including bonus scenes, shorts, trailers, subtitles, ringtones that can be sent to mobile phones, images, and more."
Sony says you can also look forward to playing "interactive movie-based games [that] can pit players who are sitting in the same room, or are across the world and online, against each other."
The update will also add the ability to easily transfer music and photo media to be passed directly back and forth between the PS3 and PSP.
Here's a checklist of other features to be added in firmware 2.20 which, on the not-so-positive side, doesn't contain in-game messaging:
- "Resume play" will enable PS3 to start playing a BD and DVD video at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been removed.
- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
- PS3's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's view speed will be improved.
- DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.
- "Mosquito Noise Reduction" will be added as an AV setting in the control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback.

After 30 years of hurt, which never stopped us dreaming, Sony Europe has released PAIN on PlayStation Network for GBP 4.99.
As you will know if you've read our PAIN import review, it's a game about throwing things into a cityscape to get points.
In addition to the main game, you can download seven extra packs, six of which cost GBP 0.69 and one of which is free. There are Scurv Dogg, Muffy, Santa, Hung Lo, Ginger, Cookie and Fun With Explosives packs, and the last one is the freebie.
Also on the PS3 Store this week is a Stranglehold pack for GBP 9.99, which is presumably the multiplayer maps that popped up on Xbox Live in January.
Sony has also uploaded the MotorStorm 2 trailer to the PS3 Store, while the PSP Store for PC gets the FlatOut: Head On demo and four more Warriors Orochi wallpapers.
Happy Easter!

TEXT OF
Pipagerardo has released version 1 of his Asteroid Barrier homebrew game, and it certainly looks impressive enough. We did a bit of digging around to find out more about this game, and we've realized the game is a little bit like Pong with machine guns.
You see, the object of the game is to send as many objects as possible to the goal of your opponent. The screen's split in half, and the player basically has to keep on moving around and firing to hit the opponent's scoring quadrant till time runs out. The single player game has 10 levels, and there's also a multiplayer mode for you to try out.
Here are the instructions for operating the game in single player and two-player mode:
Single-player
* X: On gravitational field
* O: Shooting
* Select / Start: Pause
* Digital / Analog Pad: Player Movement
Two players
* L / R: Turn on Gravitational field
* Analog pad/ Start: Shooting
* Digital pad/ X, O, Triangle, Square: Movement

Kagato has posted an entry into the Neoflash Coding Contest:
UPDATE 2: Bumper Harvest Version 1.1
Cleaned up the targeting guide
Added current level display
Added low ball warning
Added "Press any button to continue" at end of level
Nickname: Kagato
Project name : Bumper Harvest
From : Australia
Division : PSP Game
Original enter : YES
Support Motion : NO
In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10 : NO
Project description:
Yes, it's harvest time down at the bumper farm!
Grab all the ripe red bumpers from the field!
Bumper Harvest is a tribute to a very popular (and very addictive)
casual game for the PC.
Use the D-Pad to aim the ball launcher left and right.
Hold down L to fine-tune your aiming.
Fire the ball by pressing X.
As the ball hits the small bumpers, they light up and are removed from the
field. Hit all the red bumpers to progress to the next level.
Red bumpers are worth 200 points; all others are worth 100 points.
Green bumpers give you 3 targeting guides each. There are two on each level.
Hold down R while aiming to use a targeting guide.
Guides are not saved between levels, so use 'em or lose 'em.
The yellow bumper gives you a bonus score multiplier. There is one on each level. All bumpers hit after the yellow bumper on the current shot are worth 10 times their normal score.
There are also two fixed bumpers on each level which are simply obstacles, and two active bumpers which give the ball a boost.
At the bottom of the screen is the return chute, which gives you a free ball if the ball lands in it at the end of the shot.
I'm happy with the way it's turned out, but I've cut it pretty fine.
EDIT: Well that wasn't so hard. One line to re-enable the old sound system! The new version uses LuaPlayer HM3 so it should work well on all PSPs. It has been tested on Phat 3.71 M33. I couldn't get it to load MP3 versions of the sound effects, so it's still just over 2MB.
Install the same as any other app to the PSP/GAME or PSP/GAME3xx folder.

Use the D-Pad to move the I-beam while on an Edit Box and press START on any Edit Box to open the OSK. Use the D-Pad to move the OSK around the screen (useful to see where and what your typing). Check the "Relative" checkbox in the Toolbox window to add the values in the edit boxes to the current scale/rotation/position. If left unchecked, it will set the values to equal the ones specified. Animated models are automatically animated at 30fps. Quake Levels and other large meshes are automatically optimized for rendering on loading. Change the Model's current material flag with the Options menu option. Materials include:
- Solid
- Transparent

Text Viewing
Everything will default to opening as a text file, however this is only intended for text files, such as .txt, .doc, .c, .cpp, .html, .js, .lua, .cfg, .ini, etc. Automatically word-wrapped
Controls:
Click and Drag on the scroll bar to scroll through the text, else Click and Drag anywhere on the window to move the window around.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Known Bugs:
- Huge text files loaded may bog performance down a bit (i'm talking 500kb / 500,000 characters)
- Because the way LTE's static text boxes work, new line characters are shown in text documents
- All music formats are loaded using LTE so specifically formatted files will play.
- Sometimes playing music may act funky for 5 seconds and possibly skip a few seconds back (LTE's audio playback isn't something to be desired but it works most of the time), usually occurs in oddly formatted music files
- On especially high poly models, avoid Celshading them
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above can be done along aside one another, meaning you can be listening to music, viewing a model, viewing a photo whilst reading a text file. The PSP isn't a processing power house however, so it might get a bit sluggish if you intend to do so, cause of this I suggest toggling the Scene off when not needed.

This uses the LTE Engine - a port of Irrlicht 1.0 (w/ a few Irrlicht 1.1 features)
This was a port of the very basic example #9 that comes with Irrlicht, however I started adding feature after feature and ended up completely rewriting my own, so I thank example #9 for the kick in the right direction i guess
Enjoy and vote for it should you think it deserves your vote
Thanks!

Kaku.... errr what?
To get the hang of Kakuro, which is actually the younger brother of Sudoku, read the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakuro
Kakuro Nichiyou is an entry to the Neoflash 2008 Spring Competition. If you like it, please test also the other entries there and take some time for voting.
Features
- Kakuro Nichiyou features 234 hand-picked/created Puzzles from Puzzlemakers all over the world. Permission granted by Otto Janko, a great Puzzle collector, visit his website: www.janko.at
- Play Kakuros by setting numbers in the free fields, you can even make "notes" in each field (small numbers from 1..9)
- In Kakuro Nichiyou you can save your current progress to one of 20 different save slots.
- Kakuro Nichiyou features a solver which is work in progress. In the current state it is able to solve 203 out of the 234 Puzzles completely. It cannot find a solution for the other puzzles but gives you the found notes of the remaining fields (or maybe just a good laugh =D).
