There's a rumor circulating around the wild wild web right now that says Square Enix may not be looking to offer Kingdom of Hearts: Birth by Sleep via digital distribution on PSN, possibly adding insult to injury for all PSP Go owners out there. The rumor originated from Twitter user Magunus, who apparently attended a recent PlayStation event in Japan (we can't figure out which event this is referring to, and there's no mention on the official Japanese blog) where a clerk confirmed it, citing "copyright issues."
This strikes us as odd not only because of the tenuous nature by which this has been reported, but because a lot of Disney Interactive's titles have been made available via digital distribution in the past. We've contacted both Square Enix and Disney Interactive about this and will be sure to let you know what we hear back.

We are the usual. Does not pass a single day of the publication of the exploit for firmware 6:10 which, like a bolt from the blue and resumed speaking after months of silence Mathieulh, one of the members of Team C + D. In a speech on MforMature and then replicated even on MaxConsole, the coder FreePlay accused of stealing an exploit (the game Archer Maclean's Mercury) by the server of Team C + D, which previously had access to permit Fanja, and it published without consent. There is no lack of research and then charges a reputation at the expense of others and to demonstrate that changes FreePlay are zero, Mathieulh released the source of the work of the Team. The coder then confirms the futility of such a feat, given that the game on PSN was quickly patched. It's not late, however, the response FreePlay who, finding himself called a thief, tried to assert his reasons. The attacker denies the charges, since he was allowed access to the servers and therefore was not forced in any way. FreePlay continues, stating that the publication of the exploit is only due to the fact that the firmware 6.20 is blocked.
Pending further developments can be found in full, the entire post from Mathieulh and attached, the source of the exploit.
Post:
Quote:
Freeplay has been warned not to leak the Mercury Because the exploit code simply is not his, he abused Fanja's trust when Fanja Freeplay gave an access to his server and svn freeplay tried every possible URL variations until he found something. That something was the prometheus svn Which had various exploits including the mercury one, all coded and ready for use. Freeplay basically stole the exploit.
You can see him here: http://forums.mformature.net/showpos...&postcount=156 (screenshot saved to make sure he does not suddently edit his post)
admiting to this very fact.
You can also see my personal warning here http://forums.mformature.net/showpos...&postcount=141 posted Freeplay leaked long before the exploit. Will You Recognize The Game I talk about is none other than Mercury.
Stealing is lame, is leaking even more, this is not the first time he leaks things he has been entrusted (though he did not even have any rights to have a hold, use or release this exploit in the first place since he stole it)
As I stated in mformature, the amount of work he provided to get it work is 0. Since the exploit was all ready to use and sources were provided in the content prometheus svn he stole.
Either way the developers' community has been warned and have him removed from whatever list trusting he might have been.
As a proof that I am not lying to you, or making this up, now I will be providing this post along the original Mercury exploits and sources as they were in the original svn (after removing. Svn folders for obvious reasons). Trust me, it saddens me to have to resort to doing so, unfortunately I do have no choice considering Freeplay The Game leaked exploits to begin with.
Freeplay seems it was all about get hungry from using work that is not his and this I can not forgive. Hence I am Informing the world of his evil deeds.
I would also like to add that releasing this exploit was pointless and as we have Foretold, The Game Sony removed from the playstation store less than one hour after it was announced, preventing anyone to purchase The Game on the PSP go (even if it was Already in the patched firmware 6:20) Rest assured that we also do have more exploits user (inside the svn (and I do hope those Freeplay does not leak out of hunger either) as well as outside of it) but that unlike him we are not Thus after fame and he does not like wasting exploits (especially as unlike him, we actually do find them on our own and not steal the work of others)
As its always been said, crime does not pay, stealing and using the sources as well as theft for your own profit is a crime Whether you like it, or not.
P.S. The kernel exploits ifhandle provided in the supplied sources has been fixed since firmware 6:00 so there is no harm in supplying it along with the sources that were initially using it.

News via http://www.psp-ita.com/?module=news&id=33969
It's finally time to get their hands FreePlay sull'exploit of which has been much debated in recent days. The lucky owners of a PSP Go! with firmware 6.10 and the game "Archer MacLean's Mercury" can finally enjoy some 'of homebrew they always wanted, all others must wait patiently for another miracle of the PSP scene. With the arrival of the new version of system software, the 6.20, Sony has indeed plugged the loopholes that allowed the exploit to take advantage of Freeplay, and also all those who have kept close to the old version will not buy the game from store without a firmware update.
While a good part of you will be busy eating their hands and leave you to download a demo video released recently by the same coder that we demonstrated the ineffectiveness of his exploits after the recent update to Sony.

via Information Week
The U.S. Air Force is looking to buy 2,200 Sony PlayStation 3 game consoles to built out a research supercomputer, according to an document posted on the federal government's procurement Web site.
The PlayStation 3s will be used at the Air Force Research Laboratory's information directorate in Rome, N.Y., where they will be added to an existing cluster of 336 PlayStation 3s being used to conduct supercomputing research.
The Air Force will use the system to "to determine the best fit for implementation of various applications," including commercial and internally developed software specific to the PS3's Cell Broadband Engine processor architecture. The research will help the Air Force decide where Cell Broadband Engine processor-derived hardware and software could be used in military systems.
The Air Force has used the cluster to test a method of processing multiple radar images into higher resolution composite images (known as synthetic aperture radar image formation), high-def video processing, and "neuromorphic computing," or building computers with brain-like properties.
The PlayStation 3's eight-processor Cell powers other supercomputers, including the world's second-fastest, IBM's RoadRunner, at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
In June, the Department of Defense awarded $2 million for this research under its High Performance Computing Modernization Program, the DOD's arm for supercomputing research, development, test, and evaluation. That follows an initial investment of $118,000 on the original cluster.
Before it won the research award in 2008, the information directorate's advanced computing architectures team considered alternative configurations and the possibility of a hybrid system, but found multicore Xeon servers slower and more expensive than PS3s, and GPGPUs to be slower in some important types of calculations.
The Air Force Research Laboratory's information directorate spends about $700 million annually on R&D, in areas such as collaboration, networking, cybersecurity, and computer modeling.

The PS3’s innovative ‘Cell’ processor won’t be used in the PS4, according to reports this morning, claiming the chip is “dead in the water”. Apparently German website Heise Online has quoted IBM’s Vice President of Deep Computing, David Turek, saying the planned successor to the current processor, slated to have two PowerPC processors and 32 SPEs, will not be released. Extrapolated, then, you can summise that the Cell processor line is terminated, with the current PoweXCell 8i the last one off the production line.
The Cell, once stated to be in everything from games consoles to food blenders, was never particular quick at certain tasks, with a 1.4GHz Niagara already running 13 times faster than the 3.2GHz Cell at ‘long string pattern matching’, for example.
