Sony has seemingly disabled recently discovered Vita support for PSP and PSone classics.
Although support for the older games was never officially announced, Vita owners recently found that a wide range of classic titles previously unavailable on the handheld could be downloaded through the Sony Entertainment Network Store and played. DualShockers reports that Sony has now removed the ability to download the titles in question on Vita, though users who previously managed to do so claim some of the games still work.
It has been speculated that Sony intends to officially introduce support for PSP and PSone classics on Vita at a later date, but that it inadvertently did so earlier than planned before pulling the functionality.
CVG contacted Sony for a statement on the matter when it first came to light but was told the company does not comment on rumour and speculation.
