Soulcalibur IV director Katsutoshi Sasaki has said he is looking forward to competing with Capcom and Street Fighter IV.
Instead of being worried, Sasaki relishes the creative stimulation, and likes seeing fresh ideas that could be incorporated into Soulcalibur in the future.
"When we see some other game that has some new element that we could probably borrow and make Soulcalibur even better, then we will definitely look into it," Sasaki told MTV Multiplayer. "Creators are always being stimulated by all the games on the market."
Soulcalibur IV is being created with novices in mind, apparently, with online largely included so that you could be paired-off with those of your own skill level.
Sasaki also touched on the controversial height-advantage of special character Yoda in the game, who will naturally avoid high swings from taller opponents. Sasaki said not to worry, as the little green man will have his own disadvantages to overcome.
Soulcalibur IV will be out for PS3 and 360 on 31st July.
