PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara has suggested that thePS4 lifecycle might be shorter than that of the PS3 in certain markets.
Sony's next-gen console launches in Europe at midnight tonight, seven years after PS3 debuted in Japan and the US and more than six and half years after it arrived on these shores. On the eve of the launch, Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Gara told TechRadar: "I think there's reason to believe that the next cycle might be shorter in markets such as the UK.
"It's probably a sign of the times and how much has changed in seven years, but I think the willingness and the appetite to pick up new technology fast has probably changed quite a bit.
Sony has put aside an unspecified number of PS4 consoles to purchase at its official London launch event tonight, while 300 GAME stores, 150 Tesco stores and 155 Asda stores will have stock at launch for UK consumers who haven't pre-ordered the system.
