In his default attire LittleBigPlanet star Sackboy may not look so distinct, but Sony intends to turn the little fella into the "next emblematic character for the PS3".
Mark Valledor, LittleBigPlanet's product marketing manager at SOA said: "We want 'LittleBigPlanet' to lead the charge into a new genre of gaming and turn Sackboy into the next emblematic character for the PS3."
Sony says it expects LittleBigPlanet to be a system seller, and already has big marketing schemes in place, such as a pre-order deal that offers exclusive downloadable Sackboys to gamers who sign on the dotted line, and around 1000 billboards to go up all over San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.
LBP is heavily backed to be one of PS3's biggest titles this year, and a major boost to Sony's appeal to the mainstream gamer, with a target audience of "everyone".
