Sony will use today's PlayStation Network maintenance to raise the number of PSP and Vita systems users can tie to their PSN account.
The limit will be increased from two to three, Sony said on the PlayStation US forums. "This new portable gaming device allotment is in addition to the other network improvements being implemented during this downtime," the firm added.
In the US, the PSN maintenance will run from 9am to 2pm Pacific Time (12pm to 5pm Eastern). Sony's European arm will carry out PSN maintenance today for eight hours beginning at 4pm.
During the downtime, online gameplay and app access should be available to users who have recently signed into their PSN account and have their authentication details cached. PS Store, PS Home and Account Management services will be unavailable.
