Sony's European arm is to carry out PlayStation Network maintenance from Wednesday September 25 at 3pm until Thursday September 26 at 3am.
The PSN, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will be unavailable during the maintenance period. "There may be some additional downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes," Sony says.
The platform holder didn't mention in its announcement that the start of the maintenance period falls around the same time Sony usually rolls out its weekly European PS Store update.
The news could prove doubly annoying for European PlayStation Plus subscribers. This month's 'Instant Game Collection' is due to go live tomorrow, offering subscribers free digital copies of Far Cry 3, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, Street Fighter X Tekken and Touch My Katamari.
We've asked Sony when the European Store update and Instant Game Collection are due to go live this week.
PSN services will also be out of action in the US tomorrow, albeit for a shorter duration, from 10:15am to 4:15pm Pacific Time (1:15pm to 7:15pm Eastern).
