Sony has confirmed that PS4 will offer limited headset chat compatibility at launch. Game Informer has learnt that the console will not support chat functionality with Bluetooth headsets. That includes Sony’s own Pulse range of headsets.
A future update will add support for chat over Bluetooth, as well as chat over third party USB or digital optical headsets. Fortunately, the console will come with an included headset that plugs into the DualShock 4 and will support chat from the off.
It’s an identical situation to that seen with Xbox One, although owners of Microsoft’s machine will also have the option of using Kinect for chat.
