Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will be missing 'Share controller' and 'suspend mode' features at launch.
When PS4 was revealed in February this year, Sony spoke of a featurethat would allow any member of your PS4 friends list to take control of your gameplay - remotely from another PS4 connected to the internet - to help you through a tough spot in a game. But Sony has confirmed via an enormous PS4 hardware FAQ today that this feature will not make launch. No ETA was offered, but it's likely the cloud-powered feature could arrive next year, along with Sony's Gaikai-powered cloud game streaming service, which will allow PS4 access to games from older PlayStation systems - a solution to the PS4's current lack of backwards compatibility.
The FAQ also reaffirms the delay of PS4's planned 'Suspend/Resume' mode, which will let players suspend gameplay in a specific state, ready for instant resumption from the exact point it was left upon reactivation.
This is also expected to be added via a system update in 2014.
Read the full PS4 FAQ here. The FAQ touches on everything from the console's processors and technical capabilities, to peripheral and software support, the controller, the launch lineup and the finer details of its operating system.
Sony has confirmed a PS4 launch date of November 15 in US and November 29 in Europe and Latin America. http://www.computerandvideogames.com...beyond-launch/
