A couple of days before Christmas, KaKaRoTo released the PS3xport source code on GitHub and posted info about it in his blog. PS3xport makes it possible to modify PS3 backups created with the standard 'Backup Utility' tool in XMB even on a system with original firmware (OFW). The tool relies on a method by flatz to extract IDPS (PS3 device ID) by sniffing the network traffic from the PS3 console via a PC connected to internet, flatz indirectly released a windows proxy to handle this called idpstealer which was posted by zecoxao over at playstationhax.it. Since then flatz has released arctool and arcunpack which pretty much does the same as KaKaRoTo's PS3xport. The related files can also be found in the download section here at EurAsia."
