PES 2014 has hit shop shelves in US today (yesterday in EU) with a day-one patch that must be installed to play the Friendly Match Lobby, Ranking Match and Master League Online multiplayer modes.
This is the first of two patches, Konami detailed in an announcement today, the second coming "in the weeks after the initial launch" adding 11 vs. 11 multiplayer features. The second patch will also add "new matchmaking support systems [that] will place similarly ranked players together for a deliberately balanced match". At this point the available modes will represent the "full online suite for PES 2014", says Konami.
In our PES 2014 review, we said: "Despite its clear issues, PES 2014 remains a worthwhile upgrade to the series, with all-round improved gameplay and a roster of well built modes. Master League remains as deep as ever, now allowing you to manage a national team. Become a Legend returns too, accompanied by a whole host of new leagues and competitions."
Review scores from other publications have been mostly positive. Here's a PES 2014 review round-up.
