Luftrausers developer Vlambeer claims the game has become profitable after just two days on sale.
Published by Devolver Digital, Luftrausers was released on March 18 for PC, PS3, and Vita. In the game, players take control of a single airplane and take out enemy aircraft, performing death-defying loops and bombing runs to do so. In a post on the official Vlambeer Twitter page, the studio said the game is already profitable. "It had a two and a half year development cycle. We are super overwhelmed and thankful."
The title has been positively received by critics too, garnering Metascores of 82 and 81 on PC and PS3 respectively.
Last year Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail said the company's relationship with Sony was the main driving force behind the decision to release Luftrausers on PSN.
"We'll be honest with you, the reason this game is going to hit PS3 and Vita is because we loved working with Sony when we made Super Crate Box," he said.
