Square Enix has confirmed that the third phase of closed beta testing for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will commence on June 14. This will introduce PS3 users to the cross-platform game for the very first time and open up the new city states of Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa. Monthly subscriptions will start at £7.69 / €10.99.
Following a poor reception to Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix said in October 2011 that it would be giving the troubled MMORPG a complete overhaul as part of a version 2.00 update.
In an open letter published at the time, FFXIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida and Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada said the company would rebuild the game in a bid to set things right with fans.
The original game transitioned to the alpha version of A Realm Reborn in November.
